Bug ID: 35229
Summary: Demo version of Freehand 9 hangs at Intro window
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.9
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: bugs.drew(a)yahoo.com
Classification: Unclassified
There is a windowing problem in Freehand 9 (circa 2000) that I would like to
report, but the demo version doesn't allow the program to get that far.
When freehand9-trial.exe is installed in a clean prefix, it appears to install
successfully despite a lot of FIXMEs. The when launching the program (pressing
the "Try" button on the opening window, the windows disappears the Freehand is
not launched.
The only console messages occur before pressing the "Try" button and are :
wine: Unhandled stack overflow at address 0xb74439fa (thread 000d), starting
debugger...
err:seh:setup_exception_record stack overflow 1184 bytes in thread 000d eip
7bc61404 esp 00240e90 stack 0x240000-0x241000-0x340000
Curiously, these messages also appear when launching any other program (e.g.
winecfg) from this prefix, but not from a clean one.
The file "freehand9-trial.exe" can be downloaded from:
http://macromedia-freehand.software.informer.com/download/
Its sha1sum is a502e0d2e4590e118ea0215e947f16913a57b938

terminal output
The game uses the Unity engine and comes bundled with it's own Mono framework.
The problem arises when I select single-player (offline) mode, multiplayer mode
works fine.
When I click on <Play offline> in the menu the game comes to a halt for a
moment, but it is not completely dead yet, I can click on the <Create game>
button, but launching the mission is not possible as the <Create> button
doesn't work. Finally the game hangs when I click on the <Archive> option in
the single player menu..neither mouse nor keyboard works afterwards, the game
is just sitting there.
Wine's terminal output doesn't reveal too much I guess, so I'm going to attach
the game's own log file as well.
Fedora 19 x86
Wine 1.7.9, Mono 4.5.2 installed

Hello,
at first run of Age of empires III HD Steam version, the game asked for a key,
then said it is an unvalid key.
I have to install mfc42 with winetricks and the game finally accept the key.

opening wine causes display to flicker with any app...
But the main issue is that Steam.exe loads and asks for username and password,
after I enter my login info it waits a moment then crashes. if I enter the
wrong login info it responds back wrong password.
This is my first error report so please forgive any noob errors on my part.
I am running wine 1.4.1 and tried to upgrade to 1.6 or .17 but it could not be
found.
Thank you

Hello,
I sent to winehq a lot of tests now and I observe that tests results could
differ between the wine 32 or 64 bits version, the graphic card (manufacturer,
model) and drivers version used. So I think it could be very important to add
this fields in the test form.
Regards.

Bug #: 33692
Summary: Chantelise (Steam version) crashes when starting new
game
Product: Wine
Version: 1.5.31
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: otaku(a)rambler.ru
Classification: Unclassified
After choosing a slot for new game Chantelise from Steam writes "Now
Loading..." then shows some error messages like "error 5" and "a error 6 2" and
then crashes.
Chantelise Demo from http://www.carpefulgur.com/chantelise/downloads.htm starts
new game good (without sound but it's another bug)
p.s. How can i get good terminal output of Steam game for this bug? I think my
prefix with Steam is not clear enough, and in addition i get near the same
terminal outputs from Steam and Demo versions. And i am afraid that i can be
banned by Valve if i will reinstall Steam too many times.
