I was trying to do regression testing, but I failed. When I was testing on prebuild .deb packages from archives, it appears, that the problem raised between wine-1.1.28 (working) and wine-1.1.29 (not working). Other custom context-based cursors, however, will display when no buttons are held down (e.g. the hand icon when the mouse is over the footlocker, or the arrow when hovering over doors). Most of the time the only dialog that appears is a small message box saying, "Installation language not supported." I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 with Wine 1.6-rc4. I've attached a trace from a failing run prefixed with WINEDEBUG=+msgbox,+relay,+seh,+tid Very, very occasionally (in about 10-15 runs I had two successes) it will manage to proceed, allowing me to enter my license key and then select components. It will then crash. I'm attaching two traces (bzipped) - one from a failing run and a truncated one from a successful run. ABORT: Main-thread-only object used off the main thread: file /build/wine-mozilla-2.21/xpcom/base/nsCycleCollector.cpp, line 1191 which sounds kinda like bug 18398.
