ANYWAY, every time I start a game and perform the first time setup and gets to the "Installing: Microsoft VC Redist Package (step 1 of 2)" I get a popup from X11 that reads: "Setup.exe has expired." I have a feeling that it has to do with a missing plugin or an error with the C++ Redistributor. I am not a crazy coputer-smart person, so sorry I couldn't provide more info. The game seems to do many, many round trips to the wineserver querying the registry for locale information, multiple times per frame. Some rooms in the game are slower than others, presumably because they have different objects that hit this path more. Apparently this sort of registry lookup seems to be much faster in Windows than on Wine.
