I applied a local fix to allow this temporarily (if this is usual is it documented anywhere?). The behaviour of ACEDEMO was then as reported in a recent test report submitted by José Manuel Ferrer. The application hangs whenever Ace attempts to utter a wittisism, some may think this is a good thing! However, it still seems to be an issue for me. I am running a windows version of steam on my Mac using wine, and that itself is working without a problem. But, when I try to run Dota 2, I get this error message: "CPU does not meet minimum requirements. Streaming SIMD extensions support required." This happens reproducible in some game scenes. By switching to window mode (pressing Alt+Return) or back to fullscreen mode, these issues can be temporarily avoided. And the mouse issues are overall much less serious in window mode. Not all systems are equally affected by this bug. The graphics performance seems to matter. On a Laptop with an Intel GPU (which is much too slow for this game), it happens in almost every scene. And on a PC NVIDIA GeForce 560 Ti (normally almost > 60 FPS), this bug only occurs sometimes if StrictDrawOrdering is enabled. We have a problem with Wine 1.3.15 and First Class 10.009, this problem occurs only when the user does not have any administrative rights in the First Class network he or she is connected to. Upon printing the application crashes. I have attached a debug trace from Wine that hopefully has the info needed to solve the problem, the OS is Ubuntu 10.10 64 Bit. If you need any more information i will be happy to add it as soon as i can and assist you in any way possible to solve this. I am however no programmer.
