Does this still happen? (In particular with a new install.) I can select my
graphics card with 3DSetup.exe, and after that the game no longer complains on
startup.

I have the impression that the original bug is likely fixed, but that this is
blocked by bug 3952, and will be for a good while. Is there really any point in
keeping this open? I'd propose closing this, and filing a new bug if 3952 ever
goes away.

Actually all missing DLLs should be shown as Error message boxes - it's default
Windows behavior to whine about missing DLLs.
Why doesn't wine do that is a great mystery to me.

> Hack to implement arb_sampler_objects.
Still present in wine-1.7.12-141-gaa22a3c and the hack can't be applied to the
current git, as dlls/wined3d/basetexture.c is not present anymore.

Bug #: 31675
Summary: Access 2010 Runtime can't load trivial database
without native oleaut32
Product: Wine
Version: 1.5.12
Platform: x86

Status: NEW
Severity: normal

To repeat:
In a clean wineprefix, do
winetricks jet40
then download
409326d20b7b03eccc78564e1fdd1306479773fa AccessRuntime.exe
from
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=10910
and install it. Then download and unzip
http://www.rogersaccesslibrary.com/forum/uploads/5/Mode2K.zip
and do
wine start Mode2K.mdb
Click 'don't update' and 'yeah, load the database from the unsafe location'.
You'll see the .mdb's dialog, but with an #error value in a field,
and an error dialog saying
"Execution of this application has stopped due to a run-time error."
A +dialog log shows:

To work around the problem, use native oleaut32, e.g.
winetricks vcrun6 oleaut32=native
