For many help files, the forward and back buttons (<< and >>) are not shown in
Wine winhelp. However they do appear with other help files (e.g. pphelp.hlp).
For example, download winehelp_bugs.tar.bz2 from
http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=14574
and load castle1.hlp, chess.hlp or emle.hlp into Wine winhelp.

I noticed this when viewing a specific help file in Wine winhlp32, but the
issue doesn't seem to be specific to that. Viewing it using winhlp32 from
Windows 98 under Wine shows a similar rendering issue, so the cause most
probably lies elsewhere. They both render the text incorrectly, but
differently.
Italic text does not render properly. View the attached license.hlp file in
Wine winhlp32. In the "4. SAMPLE CODE" and "5. REDISTRIBUTABLE COMPONENTS"
paragraphs, the second instance of "Microsoft Systems Journal" is supposed to
be rendered in italics (followed by "(MSJ)" which is not italic).
Bug 7520 may be related to this. But in this case, Wine could/should at least
render the text normally I think, rather than corrupted/garbled???

Looking at http://test.winehq.org/data, it's hard to find x86-64 test results
(wine or windows). We should probably separate them out into their own column
next to the 32-bit OS, e.g.:
Win2k3 WinXP-32bit WinXP-64bit ... Wine-32bit Wine-64bit
We've got Platform under the report info that shows if it's x86 or x86_64, so
extending tools/winetest/dissect to account for this shouldn't be too much
trouble for a perl guru.

Invoking mouse scroll over toolbars should not result in scrolling document if
some combo box on toolbar is opened. It should scroll values in opened combo
box (like font selector, font size selector, style selector).
Scrolling with mouse in regular dialogs with combo boxes works almost well (see
Tools->Options->Save "Save Word documents as" combo box). However, it works
only if mouse pointer is over that dialog. In Windows, it works if mouse is
outside dialog window (and even program's main window). Opened combo box "eats"
all mouse scroll events :-)

Terminal output (fixme+all, err+all), crash happens in line 6
Hi
SteuerSparErklärung (SSE) is a german tax software. I've put my translations in
[brackets].
See subject. It crashes in the sub-module "BelegManager" [receipt manager] on
importing a receipt.
(Tested for jpg, png and tif. Importing pdf works. BelegManager converts files
to pdf when importing.)
A dll override msvcr120 (n,b) fixes the problem.
Found in Debian's wine-development 1.7.34-1.
Reproduce:
==========
Download installer:
http://www.steuertipps.de/gateway/softwareGateway.cfm?folder=demo&filename=…
$ sha1sum SSEStandard_20.24.112.exe
3349b7b79d7ae71194fe75488233400da89be73b SSEStandard_20.24.112.exe
$ du -sh SSEStandard_20.24.112.exe
197M SSEStandard_20.24.112.exe
Install SSE:
------------
$ wine SSEStandard_20.24.112.exe
- Click "OK" in "WinZip Self-Extractor" [... Keep all windows open until the
installation is complete! ...].
- Click "Installation starten" in the next window (SteuerSparErklärung 2015:
Installation).
- Click "Express-Installation" [Installation with default settings,
recommended] in the next window (Installation >SteuerSparErklärung 2015<).
- Tick "Testversion installieren (mit Lohnsteuer-Ermäßigung)" [Install test
version (...)] in the next window (Installation >SteuerSparErklärung
2015</Produkt-Freischaltung) and click "Weiter".
- Choose "Ich akzeptiere die Bedingungen der Lizenzvereinbarung" [Accept
license] and click "Weiter" in the next window (Installation
>SteuerSparErklärung 2015</Lizenzvereinbarung). The license text is not
displayed, see bug #37743.
- Click "Nein" [No] on the next prompt "Bestätigen" [Confirm], which asks
whether the program ought to look for online updates now (currently there are
none).
- Click "Schließen" in the installation window and the main window to finish
the installation.
Start SSE/BelegManager:
-----------------------
$ cd .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Akademische\
Arbeitsgemeinschaft/SteuerSparErklaerung\ 2015/
$ wine StartCenter.exe
- Click "BelegManager" in the mid-bottom of the window "Start-Center 2015".
- Click "Standardverzeichnis anlegen" [create default folder].
- In the following dialog click "Verzeichnis anlegen" [create folder]. This
creates ~/BelegManager.
- Click "BelegManager verwenden" [Start using BelegManager].
- Click "< Mehrere Belege importieren >" in the mid-bottom of BelegManager.
- Choose a jpg file.
Now the program crashes, defunct process StartCenter.exe.
Note:
SSE creates the folders ~/BelegManager (and ~/Steuerfälle). You may want to
remove them after testing.

Product: Wine

OS/Version: Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: kernel32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: markk(a)clara.co.uk
Classification: Unclassified
The latest beta build of WinUAE tries to call
KERNEL32.dll.GetVolumeInformationByHandleW, which is implemented in Windows
Vista and later. But even after setting the OS level to Vista with winecfg,
Wine exits reporting:
wine: Call from 0x7bc4d010 to unimplemented function
KERNEL32.dll.GetVolumeInformationByHandleW, aborting
wine: Unimplemented function KERNEL32.dll.GetVolumeInformationByHandleW called
at address 0x7bc4d010 (thread 0009), starting debugger...
GetVolumeInformationByHandleW seems similar to the earlier GetVolumeInformation
function, but instead of a root directory path (e.g. "D:\") you pass a file
handle.
To reproduce:
- Download and run the WinUAE 2.5.1 installer.
- Download
http://www.winuae.net/files/b/winuae_GetVolumeInformationByHandleW.zip and
replace winuae.exe with the one from that archive.
- Run winuae.exe
- When the WinUAE Properties window opens, click Hard drives in the tree-view
to the left. Click Add Directory or Archive... then enter (for example) "test"
in the Device name and Volume label fields, and C:\ for Path. Click OK.
- Click Configurations in the tree-view. Type something in the Name field (e.g.
test.uae) and click Save. Wine should crash.

Long standing bug, afaik, but Fraps can't measure fps. While many games have
their own fps measuring option, some don't, and others make it hard to find.
Under wine, you can get reasonably close with WINEDEBUG=+fps, but for a full
screen app, or when you only want to measure a certain scene, this can be a
PITA.
Easy demo:
download/install Fraps (http://www.fraps.com/setup.exe)
download/install 3dMark2001 (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=99)
run fraps (wine C:\fraps\fraps.exe)
run 3dmark2001, and press 'F11'.
expected result: fps display in top left
actual result: no fps in top left

So when I'm play games running full screen mode and I want to switch to some
other application (like firefox to listen to some music). Switching to non-full
screen app works fine however when I want to switch back to the full screen one
it brakes.
I noticed that when I'm using Unity the game freezes completely while on KDE
game turns back almost perfectly, but it's shorter a bit (system bar is visible
- rest is the game) and to click something it must be clicked a bit underneath.
I think it might be something with one of Directx component. Not sure witch
one. I used Farming Simulator 2013, Neighbours from Hell (1 & 2), Mad Tracks
and Euro Truck Simulator (1 & 2). This issue don't happen in StuntGP however it
does not use mouse.

As the title suggests.
Atari Scrabble Online has a minimise button, but minimising is a bad idea.
In earlier versions of wine it simply wouldn't restore. I have just tried
again in 1.1.10 and it doesn't minimise properly and locks up the screen, and
has to be killed.
This only occurs when playing the game in fullscreen mode; a virtual desktop is
an easy workaround and the game can be minimised and restored.
I don't know if a trace would be any use here, but I will certainly do one if
required.

Bug #: 29133
Summary: Gómez PEER fails to update
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.33
Platform: x86-64
URL: http://lastmile.gomez.com/PEERInstall.exe
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Keywords: download
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: kennybobs(a)o2.co.uk
Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 37554
--> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=37554
Wine 1.3.33 console output
After installing (or indeed running for the first time in a while), the Gómez
PEER attempts to auto-update. A number of messages pop up to say that the
application is unable to communicate with itself before giving up altogether.
The update seems to be actioned by javaw.exe:
"C:\PROG~FBU\Gomez\GOME~3B3\.\jre\bin\javaw.exe -cp
C:\PROG~FBU\Gomez\GOME~3B3\.\cache Respawn
C:\PROG~FBU\Gomez\GOME~3B3\.\.\jre\bin\Systeminfo.dll"
Under Windows XP and 7 this does not occur.
During upgrade gomezpeer.exe is terminated after the first error message
appears.
I will need to run under Windows again to see the differences.
This does appear to be the same as Bug 20234 but that upgrade started working,
so this must be a new bug.
Note: You need an account to get this far.
Under Wine 1.3.0 the "Last Mile updating..." windows does not appear, there is
a single error window and the application closes, but when loading a second
time the PEER continues as normal, and so must have been updated (not sure how
to check). Running a bisect is impossible due to bugs between then and now.
