Actual results: Dragon works on wine1.5 1.5.12-ubuntu0. On wine1.5 1.5.12-ubuntu0 Dragon fails. It starts running and terminates during launch. On wine1.5 1.5.16-ubuntu0, Dragon shows its taskbar icon with the tooltip "initializing…" and goes to a seemingly infinite loop on six of the eight CPU hardware threads. Launching Dragon again on wine1.5 1.5.16-ubuntu0 and then right clicking the taskbar icon caused Dragon to crash with glibc complaining about a double free. Downgrading to wine1.5 1.5.12-ubuntu0 makes Dragon work again. Expected results: Expected Dragon to continue to work on versions of Wine newer than wine1.5 1.5.12-ubuntu0. Additional info: The weird steps 1 and 2 were there, because the Dragon installation wouldn’t succeed on Ubuntu 12.04 initially due to https://www.codeweavers.com/support/wiki/linux/faq/ubuntu1204 . Also, I couldn’t figure out how to satisfy the .Net dependencies in the case of 64-bit Dragon. I pointed the link to Meid.exe and it loads up to the account selection page but won't do anything else. I need this program for Estimating. I have an extencive database in the Windows Vista drive that is no longer bootable and would like to be able to continue using this program under Ubuntu 14.04. I am quite new to this OS. So a lot of the acronyms people use are foreign to me. But I have some programming background and can useually work through things with guidance. Trying it a second time gave strange results, so it may be a race condition or some other weirdness. One of the installer screens asks to install 'Tuneup Utilities'. This screen, however, is often garbled. I'll attach a screenshot. Now it gives the error message "An error occurred in the speech component" and audio input doesn't work. The installer downloads about 140MB of application payload (can be reduced to about half that in an early dialog) and then proceeds to attempt installation. After the payload has downloaded, the installer goes through a bunch of 'wizard' panels. Finally, the installer says it was interrupted. The observed symptoms are essentially the same between WINE 1.3.24 and 1.3.25. I plan to attach a screenshot of the panel that says the installation was interrupted, a plain log file, and a log file with a 'msi' debug trace. As a second guess, I installed dotnet20 instead, which works, so looks like a mono bug. Be careful, once three activations are made on an account, it will refuse to add more. It seems under mono the devices are added but the local device never receives confirmation back, unless the number of devices is hit, in which case you get an error. Logging in with a webbrowser and removing the devices lets you test more. So, to summarize: With dotnet, installing and running prey works. I can add new devices, and receive confirmation of success or failure. With mono210 (2.10.2) / wine-1.3.20: installing and running prey works.
