Yet, there could be some games out there that make use of the overlay. I have one such a "legacy" game, Fallen Enchantress, which comes with the Impulse overlay, and the game crashes while loading to the main menu, when using built-in dwrite. Disabling dwrite.dll lets the game start properly and the overlay works too. Please let me know if you need a log with specific debug channels enabled. We are trying to make it work under Wine 1.7.47 on SLED 11, but it crashes in gdiplus. Using gdiplus from winetricks solves this crash from the technical point of view, but legally not so much. I'm attaching a debug output from this command line: WINEDEBUG=+relay,+seh,+tid,+gdiplus wine .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/SDA/Poszeidon/Poszeidon.exe >> /tmp/poszeidon.txt 2>&1 I hope it helps,let me know if you need some other debug output. In Linux PingPlotter3 works as expected after setting the proper file capabilities. Interestingly, this problem also occurs when using tracert.exe from Windows XP. Running Wine as root and/or replacing the winsock and icmp Wine libraries with native DLLs fails to correct the problem.
