log using the WINEDEBUG=+relay parameter
This rather ancient game got a D3D patch from Sega a few months after release,
adding support for basic accelerated capabilities, like Bilinear Filtering,
Perspective Correction and so on. Unfortunately it seems that Wine D3D support
is not detected by this application, which starts in software mode and won't
even show the relevant graphic option.
The D3D accelerated features have been tested as working when using the
original HW and VMWare Fusion 8.
I've uploaded a log of the game running with and without the WINEDEBUG=+relay
parameter.

wine 1.3.17 output
The demo runs in a virtual desktop here.
Always when it fades between scenes (means turning black for a moment) this
fade does not only affect the virtual desktop but my entire screen/monitor gets
black.
Just start the demo (use wine taskmgr to bring the game to foreground and
adjust the window size). Then quit the game and you should see a fade there
which affects your entire screen.

On Fedora 24 with all current patches
ATI video running mesa drivers
Installed Winetricks and then installed a win32 instance
Installed Visual C++ 2005 SP 1
Installed 2008 C++ Express
Installed 2010 C++ Express
Installed 123D_Design_R2.1_WIN32_2.1.11 from http://www.123dapp.com/design
run either by opening a terminal and entering wine "123D Design.exe"
from the $HOME/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Autodesk/123D Design directory
or from the icon on the desktop.
The startup screen comes up... and then the main screen... the window and all
of the side items come up fine but the design area is either corrupted or is
blank.
it also causes the GNOME Classic menu pulldown to quit working until the window
or the application is terminated.
If needed I can screen capture the window to show or take logs when requested.

https://wiki.winehq.org/Building_Wine#Memory_.26_Address_Checkers describes
using AddressSanitizer with Wine. It seems not to compile. I'm using:
$ gcc --version
gcc (Ubuntu 4.8.4-2ubuntu1~14.04.1) 4.8.4
A short excerpt:
$ ./configure --enable-win64 CFLAGS="-g -O1 -fsanitize=address"

/home/abuchbinder/software/wine/tools/make_xftmpl.c:127: undefined reference to

and so on. The problem here is that the command:
gcc -m64 -o make_xftmpl make_xftmpl.o ../libs/port/libwine_port.a
should be:
gcc -m64 -o make_xftmpl make_xftmpl.o ../libs/port/libwine_port.a
-fsanitize=address
I can work around this in part with:
$ find . -name Makefile|xargs perl -pi -e 's/^(CC = gcc -m64)$/\1
-fsanitize=address/'
... but that's probably not the right way to do this, and it only works for
tools/ and not dlls/ anyway. My Makefile-fu is not strong; I'm sure I'm missing
something about how the configuration system works, but I'm equally sure that
this is something worth reporting even if I'm not entirely certain what's going
on.
