Other than that, only corefonts and Nvidia Physx are installed, gameoverlayrenderer.dll is disabled. When I launch the game an empty, black window is opened, titled 'The Bureau: XCOM Declassified (32-bit, DX9)'. The game executable constantly uses 100% CPU, but the game doesn't load. The process has to be killed to quit. Changing Windows profile to Vista or Seven doesn't help. What would happen if you fooled a game that needed 256 colour depth into thinking that's what it is running in while it is actually running at 24bit? I ask this as I am unable to change my colour depth and reduce my resolution below 640x480. And even when I could change my colour depth it meant restarting the X-server. Rest of the game works with any Shift key. -Once both Shift keys have been pressed in order to "grab" a piece one can let go one key and is still able to move the piece around until one lets go of the 2nd Shift key. Testing on Lubuntu 11.10 (OpenBox 3.5.0 WM). When the "Allow the window manager to control the windows" option has been disabled using winecfg, the PuTTY terminal window does not receive keyboard input. Instead the console window which you ran putty.exe from receives input. That only applies to the PuTTY terminal window, not the initial settings window. It also only applies when *not* in virtual desktop mode. To reproduce: - Disable "Allow the window manager to control the windows" in winecfg - Download and run putty.exe. The PuTTY Configuration window appears. Note that initially it does not seem to have focus; the window title bar is grey not blue. However the window does actually have focus and receives keyboard input. - Connect to a server. E.g. enter telehack.com for Host Name, Telnet for connection type and click the Open button. - The terminal window appears after a few seconds. It seems to be focused (title bar blue) but even if you click in the window, the characters you type appear in the console. If I've got Steam client window opened on a page where some help tooltips are expected to popup on mouseover's over some UI elements they would popup and show as a top z-order window no matter is the Steam windows currently active one or not. An example how might it look like may be seen in attached screenshot. Easiest page to trigger the bug is the "Game details" view in the games library for the games with "Achievements" available - there would be tooltip popups when moving the mouse pointer over the pictures representing the achievements. This behavior was spotted with wine versions starting at about 1.2-rc1 and up to current 1.2-rc4. See the screenshots. The applications are fast enough to be usable. The strange thing is that in CrossOver 9.0 that is wine 1.1.34 based. It draws correctly but it is to slow. I think that could be one of two problems: * Font engine, due to CrossOver and wine have different ones. * DIB Engine, maybe the dib engine was changed in recent wine versions and in CrossOver don't. Anyone can help me to do further tests in order to this issue be fixed? Started the race. After the countdown, the vehicle turns left as though the left arrow were pressed and held. After pressing the right arrow, the game proceeds as usually. Apart from a flood of fixme's, nothing interesting can be found in the logs. Using Wine1.8. Tried wine-staging 1.9.3, but the results are exactly the same. This breaks how centered and probably far alignments are handled since the string will be moved a crazy amount of pixels to the right. Since when StringFormatFlagsNoClip is on the clipping region is already disabled I suspect that modifying the width is not only broken but also unnecessary. I'm not sure though since I don't know gdiplus code well enough. So far I reached the point where it works, but there is an issue when application tries to execute is *.bat wrapper. That's because I have a old program that works only with ports named lpt[1-4] or com[1-4] I can do it creating a link to my device to the dosdevices folder. E.g: ln -s /dev/lp0 ~/wine/dosdevices/lpt1 ln -s /dev/ttyUSB0 ~/.wine/dosdevices/lpt2 Typing commands like echo 'hello' > lpt1 will work great. There are some cases that my printer is not directly connected to my computer. By example my Brother DCP-8085DN printer that works over network, a wireless printer, or same my epson lx300 using lpt1 port but instead is installed on another computer. To map this kind of printers I use cups and it work on wine using print dialog (e.g printing using notepad). But what about if I need to use my old dos program or would like play around with wine start.exe program and type commands like echo 'hello' > lpt1 Wine start.exe returns File not found. Cups doesn't create /dev/xxx devices to printers. So I can't do a link to dosdevices folder and I have to use the lpr command to print. One solution is create a file named lpt1 on dosdevices folder and use loop script in linux cheking for changes and redirect data to lpr. It fails due to the bonjour service not starting correctly. The shared components seem to install correctly though. Wine version is yesterday's GIT (1.1.6+). My system does have mDNSResponder installed, but not started. This could very easily be mistaken as a virus (which I thought when I initially ran it way back). Hello, I have noticed a problem with toolbars in Metatrader 4. When I change toolbars with separators between icons from horizontal to vertical position, toolbars aren't displayed properly - heights of toolbars are too small and separators don't extend the entire width of the toolbar. When I remove separators from each toolbar everything works fine. In attached file I draw red "circles" in places where separators are incorrectly displayed. I'm using Metatrader 4 with Wine 1.6.2 on Xubuntu 14.04 LTS (32-bit). To install EAs, you click on the "Download" link of the EA. For example, on this page... http://www.mql5.com/en/market/product/1870 This redirects to a URL of the form, "mql4buy://1870.PZ%20Goldfinch%20Scalper%20EA/free". On Windows, this starts an instance of Metatrader terminal.exe with the remainder of the URL passed as a parameter e.g. terminal.exe "//1870.PZ Goldfinch Scalper EA/free" This either starts Metatrader, or if it is already running, installs the EA and exits. The first part of the bug is that mql4buy URLs are not handled correctly by Wine Explorer i.e. they are not passed to terminal.exe as they are on a real Windows installation. The second issue is that even if the URL is fed to terminal.exe manually, it does nothing. The EA is not installed. The same problem exists using MT5, 64 bit. It seems it's related to the MotionNotify event handler in dlls/winex11.drv/mouse.c. Xlib programming manual describes XMotionEvent as follows: The same_screen member is set to indicate whether the event window is on the same screen as the root window and can be either True or False . If True , the event and root windows are on the same screen. If False , the event and root windows are not on the same screen. … If the event window is on the same screen as the root window, the x and y members are set to the coordinates relative to the event window's origin. Otherwise, these members are set to zero. A demo version is available on Steam, but I couldn't test it as I have the full version. http://store.steampowered.com/app/55150/ Steam installs MSVC++ 2005 runtime libraries and various DirectX components the first time you start the game. Disabling gameoverlayrenderer in winecfg doesn't help. I tested this bug with Wine 1.2.3, 1.4.1, 1.5.20. The cursor in Rise of Nations and it's expansion Thrones and Patriots ignores right-clicks and left-clicks. Clicking BOTH left and right mouse button acts as a left click. There is a workaround. Editing the rise2.ini file, setting "ForceGDICursor=1" allows the cursor/mouse to behave normally. It also corrects a transparency problem with the cursor. This can even be done if the button is disabled, which can give all kinds of strange results in apps that assume disabled buttons are not triggerable. To guarantee there is no weird config nearby, I have tested it with a live CD in a virtual machine. Linux Mint 15 MATE, 64bit; wine1.6-0ubuntu1. This behavior can be observed in the most recent version of 0CC-Famitracker, found here: http://hertzdevil.info/programs/ Attempting to open the configuration dialog (marked by a hammer in the top bar) will cause the program to hang. The program will also hang when attempting to modify any new instrument. Is there some bug with Wine dispatching Windows dialogs? Similarily, it will page fault when using "save to" most of the time. That makes it impossible to use these functions. It doesn't appear to be a regression (I have witnessed this on all versions from 1.3.7 to 1.7.9). Using native comctl32.dll solves the crashing. For example, when changing the selected item, it sends a notification that the old item was deselected, and then sends a notification that the new item has been selected. If an application queries the current selection during the first notification, it will appear that no items are selected. This is different from how Windows behaves, which appears to send notifications only after updating all item states. This breaks the Ancestral Quest program's Changelog feature, though this requires the program to be purchased.
