Summary: Fingerprint software for encrypted USB stick (APDisk)
doesn't work, likely due to unsupported hard disk
ioctl
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.29
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: muehlenhoff(a)univention.de
We're trying to make an encrypted USB stick with an integrated fingerprint
scanner work with Linux. The stick comprises of two sections, the actual
storage partition which is encrypted by firmware and a user-visible partition
containing a Windows application to unlock the secured section. The password
tool allows the checking of a fingerprint through an integrated scanner or
entering a password.
Tests were done with Wine 1.1.29 built on Debian Lenny:
When running the unlock tool, the following error messages are given:
root@scratch:/media/APdisk$ wine AutoVerify.exe
err:rpc:I_RpcGetBuffer no binding
root@scratch:/media/APdisk$ err:rpc:I_RpcGetBuffer no binding

fixme:mountmgr:harddisk_ioctl unsupported ioctl 4d014
fixme:mountmgr:harddisk_ioctl unsupported ioctl 4d014
I suppose the error stems from the unsupported ioctl? Judging from some Google
searces it normally seems to be used for low-level access, especially for copy
protection and tools doing bit-exact copies of CDROMs.
Are there plans to implement this functionality or do you need further debug or
logging information?

Summary: Dynahack 0.6.0 in curses wineconsole cannot receive
uppercase keyboard input
Product: Wine
Version: 1.9.18
Hardware: x86-64
URL: https://github.com/tung/DynaHack/releases/download/v0.
6.0/dynahack-0.6.0-1-win-x86.zip
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Keywords: download, source
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: 00cpxxx(a)gmail.com
Distribution: Debian
Steps to reproduce:
1 - Download, unzip, cd to dynahack folder;
2 - Resize your console manually to 130x40;
2 - wine wineconsole --backend=curses dynahack.exe;
3 - Press n for new game, y for random character;
4 - Press caps lock and then any alphabet key or SHIFT+alphabet key.
No output or wrong output is printed. Keys attempted and resulted value:
Z, X, R, T, P, L, J, H, F, D => 0x60
A => 0x66
Other alphabet keys don't generate output.
The above output was debugged from [1] from values of cell[x].Char.UnicodeChar,
also cell[x].Char.AsciiChar will have the same wrong values.
This issue does not happen in wineconsole with default backend.
Quitting the game requires a tutorial:
ESC -> q -> yes -> <space> -> n -> n -> n -> <space> -> <space> -> <space> -> q

wine-staging-gtk3_theming-reaper_no_preferences
I decided to test out gtk3 theming in Staging, to see how it was progressing.
While for the most part it seems to be working fairly well, yes i know that it
isn't completed yet...Anyway, I ran into a bug;
wine --version = wine-1.9.19 (Staging)
Archlinux 64bit = uname -a 4.6.7-rt11-2-rt #1 SMP PREEMPT RT Wed Sep 14
00:12:44 EDT 2016 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Gnome: 3.20.x GTK3 version; 3.20.9
I'm running the 64bit version of Reaper, but it should matter to reveal the
issue. In Reaper, I am not able to access any of the settings in the
preferences dialog, using gtk3 theming;
wine-staging 1.9.19 (uxtheme, working); http://funkyimg.com/view/2gZ8M
wine-staging 1.9.19 (uxthemegtk, missing preferences);
http://funkyimg.com/view/2gZ8N
Reaper 64bit - exe/download;
http://www.reaper.fm/files/5.x/reaper524_x64-install.exe
terminal ouptut; http://pastebin.com/NhmZ9zER
(and also attached as a text file)
Obviously, I can just not use gtk3 theming to avoid this issue. but I thought I
would point it out, since gtk3 theming is being worked on in this branch.
If any other information needs to be provided, please let me know. Thanks!

In Word, the Equation Editor opens fine and works.
In Powerpoint, it does not open. It gives an error message "The server
application, source file, or item can't be found, or returned an unknown error.
You may need to reinstall the server application."

Summary: Wine Windows OpenGL support regression
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.57.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: critical
Priority: P3
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: imamdxl8805(a)yahoo.com
Dear Wine developers,
This is wine version 0.9.56 and 0.9.57
There are two games that support OpenGL rendering as well as Direct3D redering.
Here are the games:
1. Hitmen 2 Silent Assasin
2. Hitmen 3 Contracts
When I have updated my wine version to 0.9.57, then these games are not playing
anymore with OpenGL rendering. But when I start these games with Direct3D
rendering they are playing fine.
These games played properly with wine version 0.9.55 with OpenGL rendering as
well as Direct3D rendering.
Then I have decided to reinstall wine 0.9.55.
Sorry for the err message printed in the command line. Because I do not have
Internet connection in my home PC.
Best regards,
DXL

While testing the game Ranagrök, I noticed a visual bug in the launcher
(european version). The launcher uses mshtml to display some website and it had
a vertical scrollbar which looked like it didn't belong there. After some
debugging, I found out that the page uses the css style "overflow: hidden" on
the body element. This should hide the scrollbar, but Wine still displays it. I
made a small test html website to reproduce the issue without the game:
wine iexplore https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/61413222/wine-css-hidden.html
On windows no scrollbars are shown while Wine shows a vertical scrollbar.

When a running app is de-installed during execution, Wine uninstaller gives a
positive result that the app is uninstalled. But the app is not removed.
The Control Panel and Registry shows as if the app is uninstalled but the app
still exist. As a consequence the Registry and what really is installed is out
of sync. A subsequent installation of the same app is possible from the
installer perspective. But the installation may give wrong results because the
former was not removed properly.
On Window when uninstalling a running app a window pops up
--------------------------
The following application should be closed before continuing the install:
[app name]
- Automatically close applications and attempt to restart them after setup is
complete
- Do not close applications. (AReboot may be required)
OK Cancel
--------------------------
The message isn't perfect but at least it is assured that the Registry and the
app removal status are in sync.
