This will always fail with a second message box saying the file was not found. Pressing ESC closes the game (with the full-screen, black window), and I can see the attached output in my terminal. I should be able to switch to another desktop and get a debug trace when the black game window is on the screen, if you'd like me to do that. I'm using 375.26 of NVidia's drivers. Not all maps suffer from it, only certain ones do. If you're above the Z position that it begins happening at, everything below renders normally, but once you go below it, a portion of the frame becomes black. It seems to be in a pattern. Not all objects are blacked out, either. So there must be some sort of "priority". Moving the mouse shows the normal mouse cursor again but stopping the mouse on the entry again shows the I symbol again. The program will also hang when attempting to modify any new instrument. Is there some bug with Wine dispatching Windows dialogs? Instructions: - Open 0CC (and optionally open an existing file. - Press Space (to enable editing) and mash the keyboard a bit to enter notes. - Press Ctrl+S and specify a filename. - Mash a few keys and press Ctrl+S a few times. At this point 0CC will usually crash with an assertion error in CString, often with a backtrace consisting of a single entry of 0x0. One time I got a backtrace pointing to MFC UI code. ------------ I think this is a memory corruption issue arising from calling `AfxFormatString1(text, IDS_FILE_SAVED, text);` with the same input and output = https://github.com/HertzDevil/0CC-FamiTracker/blob/v0.3.14.5/Source/FamiTra… But it doesn't crash on Windows. Is that a program bug or Wine bug? - I think MFC is statically linked. It doesn't appear to be a regression (I have witnessed this on all versions from 1.3.7 to 1.7.9). Using native comctl32.dll solves the crashing. If you use native comctl32.dll or in windows you'll see tooltips over these partly covered items, displaying full item name. Wine won't show anything. This is true with listview also. In some applications that have big listview tables with long values this bug becomes pretty annoying (when you constantly have to change comlumn widths etc in order to see complete values). It should say 'None' (or the local equivalent) initially. (The caret is positioned properly, though.) 'winetricks comctl32' works around the problem. Wine's control works fine in a standalone demo. The problem exists in many versions of the app, including the 7.12 Student Version downloadable from various sites as ledit.zip, 2972402 bytes, sha1sum f1a5825e63cee03f2cfb912cfa8d47c5a22aa684 That version requires 'winetricks mfc42' to start, and warns about wanting 256 color mode. Here is how I invoke winscp under wine: WINEDEBUG=fixme-all wine "c:/program files/winscp/winscp" Background: WinSCP is a very nice GUI front end for Subversion (svn). You can read about it and download it here: http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/ TortoiseSVN should not be run across a network when the Icon Overlays feature is enabled. http://tortoisesvn.net/node/138 http://tortoisesvn.net/node/267 However, TortoiseSVN's icon overlay feature is one of the program's major assets. I want to use Cygwin's xterm to connect to the samba server that holds the svn checkout directory and use Wine to run TortoiseSVN locally on that server. The user would be presented with a nice visual representation of the state of their checked out Subversion project, and performance would be good. On Windows, TortoiseSVN can display its icons in any file chooser window, and in Windows Explorer. I have also found that WinSCP's explorer view will show icons for the local machine. I would prefer not to have to run WinSCP in order to view TortoiseSVN icons. Perhaps a tiny Win32 program that merely shows a file dialog would be sufficient to run in an xterm, if Wine would support whatever system calls TortoiseSVN makes. For me, and many other programmers and IT personnel who work in a mixed Windows/Linux environment, Wine would be much more useful if there was a way to run it under Wine. Also the song progress slider at the top is going faster than playback. This bug has only occurred recently i.e. past few weeks, since I always get the latest development Wine releases with the Ubuntu updates. To reproduce: download 1by1 Player: http://mpesch3.de1.cc/1by1.html and use it to play some mp3 files.
