a user wished Wine would support Serif products, so I tried
looking around for trial versions. The first one I found was
a rather aged trial of PhotoPlus 6 at Tucows.
It installs fine with current wine. When you start it,
it puts up a registration window -- but under Wine,
that window is blank, and you can't get past it to use the app.

Summary: Crysis SP Demo: hangs on blackscreen on launch
Product: Wine
Version: 3.7

terminal output/error log
The demo boots to a blackscreen. Then nothing happens. Does not crash or
anything. I have to kill the demo from another tty via kill command.
The demo can be launched and is fully playable if launched with -dx9 argument
though(hence the minor Severity of the bug).
e.g from bin64 directory of the game: wine crysis.exe -dx9
using Arch Linux (fully updated) and wine-3.7 from repositories.
GPU is Radeon HD6870 (using open-source drivers).
Also tested on fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04 LTS using wine-development(3.6)
prebuilt package.
You can download the single player demo to test for yourself from the nvidia
website here:
http://download.nvidia.com/downloads/nZone/demos/nzd_crysis_spdemo.exe

Summary: RealPlayer SP reports that you are not in
administrator mode when you try to update.
Product: Wine
Version: 1.2-rc7
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: esd45(a)earthlink.net
If you have wine set to report itself as any Windows version newer than Windows
XP, RealPlayer SP will report that you are not in administrator mode any time
you attempt to update it's components.
You can work around this by setting Wine to report itself as Windows XP by
using the configuration program for Wine.
This is a very minor bug, and does not interfere with the use of the
application, however it may give some insight into similar bugs with other
applications.
