Additionally, the splash screen does not disappear, but this can be remedied by moving it using DE-level features, such as right clicking the program on the taskbar and selecting Move in XFCE. It begins in "Horizontal" mode. Right click on it, change it to "Vertical" mode. In Windows, changing to "Vertical" mode means that the Taskbar has now a width equal to button "Begin" width and a new height based on Desktop height.
