If yes, this could be a problem with paths processing. Could you narrow the problem down to a small test case which opens the file and shows success/failure of the operation? Does it work if you hardcode the path in the test case? One more possibility - regedit incorrectly parses the command line. Try to insert debugging statements in regedit before it tries to open the file to see what it got. BTW, I use RH 7.1 with more-less recent patches. Is your system patched? (not the whole thing just a section that has one or more of the DDBLTFX_... operations. For example: DDBLTFX_ARITHSTRETCHY, DDBLTFX_MIRRORLEFTRIGHT, DDBLTFX_MIRRORUPDOWN etc. If Baldur's Gate uses all the different types of operations that would be great but I think it will use one or two.
