enhancement, as i'm not going to start a button pushing war (we all know how
those go, something ends up breaking, usually the button or the thing the
button is on :-P )
+
+ ------- Additional Comments From andi(a)rhlx01.fht-esslingen.de 2002-05-21 17:03 -------
+ Sorry, I have to say that I don't agree. :)
+
+ This clearly is severity normal.
+ You could even argue that having a wineshelllink available is a nice
+ enhancement, but the same instant that this enhancement becomes *broken*,
+ we have a nice "normal" bug (BTW, this is the case now).
+ Always keep in mind that BugZilla is not only about "bug reporting",
+ it's also about collecting user feedback.
+ (i.e. e.g. also reporting nice "enhancement" ideas that would be good to have)
+ That's what this level is for.
+
+ This broken wineshelllink is *definitely* not a nice enhancement,
+ but at most a former cool enhancement that's now pretty broken.
+ Thus it has become a boringly "normal" bug.
+
+ Agreed ? :)

+ ok, so the installer returning an error is a normal severity, but getting
+ wineshelllink to create the icons would enhance the appeal to users, thus
+ making it an enhancement, if you agree, then feel free to put it back to
+ enhancement, as i'm not going to start a button pushing war (we all know how
+ those go, something ends up breaking, usually the button or the thing the
+ button is on :-P )

+ This is not an "enhancement", is it ?
+
+ If the installer can't create icons due to this (or even returns an error),
+ I don't think that's an enhancement issue, but rather a stupid bug.
+
+ An enhancement would probably be something like adding homepage URLs to the
+ builtin "About Wine" dialog :-)
+ (or adding an easter egg :-)

It seems that an exception 0eedfade is a carrier for Delphi exceptions.
Text "is not a valid integer value" is a message from an exception, thrown by
StrToInt function when it can't convert a string value to integer.
+

+ Both applications were written with using the same library, probably ExpressBars
+ library from http://www.devexpress.com. Current version of the library is 4
+ (launched in march 2001) and demo applications do not show the problem. Maybe
+ the problem existed for previous versions of the library.

+ I switched to the font explorer to research the issue because it's a smaller
+ application.
+
+ Answering to Uwe Bonnes:.
+ Yes, the both applications are written in Delphi or C++ Bulder.
