Summary: Escape from Tarkov launcher crashes with wine 6.15 and

Product: Wine

Hardware: x86-64

It seems that the commit
https://github.com/wine-mirror/wine/commit/3bace8862f1b49e40574d1c9647e6984…
causes a regression that causes the Escape from Tarkov launcher to crash on any
Wine higher than this commit.
Bisected and verified on several computers by several people, it causes people
to have to stick to an older Wine version to make it running on Lutris.
The launcher can be downloaded here:
https://prod.escapefromtarkov.com/launcher/download
The launcher is apparently based on old Xsolla launcher, so some other software
may be affected. It uses Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and DX9 with
partial present, having to have to install .NET (for example with winetricks)
might be necessary.
The launcher also doesn't work with DXVK, see
https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/issues/2278

Since a update, Roblox Player has been constantly freezing for more than 10
seconds before loading the game.
With help from git bisect, the faulty commit should be 7ef35b3 (ntdll:
Reimplement file system redirection using NT pathname comparisons.)
Steps to reproduce:
1. Install and set up Roblox using Grapejuice
(https://gitlab.com/brinkervii/grapejuice/-/wikis/home)
2. Open any experience through Roblox website
3. Look for long graphical freeze during game loading
Expected behavior:
The game freezes briefly and loads the game.
Actual behavior:
The game freezes for more than 10 seconds before loading the game, the graphics
are not updated in the process.

The installer used is any msi-based installer named "InstallAware" that adds a
lot of things to msi, like 7zip compression (and apparently avi playback).

Text output to STDERR/STDOUT during run, and resulting crash of application
When attempting to run ASD's "Lifeforce" demo the program complains about the
absence of the "Microsoft Video 1" codec. The demo does run, flawlessly I might
add, without the above codec with the only "problem" being that the demo
voluntarily disabled the small amount of in-demo video and notifies the user of
this before running with an 'OK' dialog box. However, if one attempts to supply
the missing codec by overriding 'msvidc32.dll' with the native Microsoft
version, the demo crashes. The crash is always reproducible, stemming from a
null reference at one specific location/instruction in the program text. This
behavior does not, of course, manifest itself if the program is run natively
under, say, Windows XP.

Created an attachment (id=27338)

+iccvid,+msvideo log (with wine-1.1.18)
Wine with a native amstream and quartz renders the first intro video
(intro.avi) of "Die Völker / The Alien Nations" upside down and in wrong
colours, with a strong green stain. Bug #17893 explains why WINEDLLOVERRIDE is
needed. Actually, there are two issues with the Cinepak codec:
A) The iccvid codec refuses a BITMAPINFOHEADER with negative height.
B) Native amstream tries hard to find a suitable transform. Alas, the codec
does not refuse to convert into YUY2 or similar uncompressed formats, which I
believe explains the greenish colour.
This log snippet about A) shows the use of a negative height in the header of
the uncompressed format, which indicates a top-down DIB according to MSDN
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd183376.aspx
trace:iccvid:ICCVID_DecompressQuery in: planes = 1
bpp = 24

width = 640

trace:iccvid:ICCVID_DecompressQuery out: planes = 1
bpp = 24
height = -360
width = 640
compr = "\x00\x00\x00\x00"
This log snippet about B) shows how native amstream queries about decompressing
into YUY2 and other similar fcc formats like UYVY (see log).
trace:iccvid:ICCVID_DecompressQuery in: planes = 1
bpp = 24
height = 360
width = 640
compr = "cvid"
trace:iccvid:ICCVID_DecompressQuery out: planes = 1
bpp = 16
height = 360
width = 640
compr = "YUY2"
This video displays fine using Wine's built-in mciavi.
What's obscure to me is why is this video rendered upside down with native
amstream and quartz? Negative heights are returned by the iccvid codec with
BADFORMAT, so it is a priori not responsible for the inversion.
a) Is this a bug in native amstream, forgetting that it did not obtain
a top-down decompressor?
b) Is Wine's understanding of top-down the opposite of what native uses?
c) Is the codec's understanding of bottom-up wrong?
What made me curious is the need to change the FFmpeg msvideo1 code for Wine:
the original code would render videos upside down. And iccvid similarly
contains #ifdef ORIGINAL code to invert the orientation.

more.

While the underlying program appears to work perfectly fine (tooltips appear,
blind edits take effect), the editing area doesn't actually render. Instead, it
seems to pull recent cached graphics, see attached screenshot (especially since
I'm not sure I described this correctly), which pulls from my file manager (but
I've also had it pull from a variety of other programs and images). Notably,
this image does not change even if the proper graphics would, such as by
scrolling or moving things around, it only changes if the window is resized.
There is a workaround, which is disabling the "Use DirectX for Main Windows"
option (see second screenshot), in which case the editing area renders
properly, but this entails some loss of functionality (mainly zooming).
However, I also get the same/a very similar issue with another program through
Wine, but it requires some native .dlls (vb6run) to even work at all, which I
believe disqualifies it from being reported here. Meanwhile, I've had no issues
with more advanced graphics on native apps and Steam's Windows emulation. Since
it's graphical, only appears in Wine, and doesn't appear for other people I've
asked, I believe the issue lies in how Wine and my graphics driver interact.
Lunar Magic can be downloaded here:
https://fusoya.eludevisibility.org/lm/program.html But getting the program to
actually try to render the editing area also requires a SMW ROM.

Hi,
At the moment Wine doesn't support Video Overlay in DirectX. In order to make
DirectDraw feature complete we need this ability. It is used in media players
(in a lot of cases through quartz 'DirectShow') to improve rendering
performance. A free application that attempts to use it in directx mode (the
default option) is VLC. Further Picasa seems to need it too and their special
Wine branch supports video overlay using Xv but in a hacky way.
It is relatively easy to add a software implementation to DirectDraw/WineD3D
but it would be slow. For best performance and less reinventing the wheel we
need to implement overlay using Xv. The most tricky part would be on how to
access Xv from within wined3d.

Summary: The Witcher: Character models are sometimes invisible
Product: Wine

Missing character models
As described in the thread on bug #12771, which was recently closed due to the
correction of one of the major reported graphical glitches in The Witcher, save
games will sometimes load with invisible character models. Only the face and
teeth of humans are visible, along with any gear (but not clothing) that may be
carried on the character's back.
The occurrence of this issue seems hit and miss -- some people experience
almost never, while others experience it almost always. Some registry tweaks
involving video memory have been reported to resolve the issue for some.
I've attached a fresh screenshot of the issue, as seen with Wine 1.6-rc5.
Geralt's face is clearly visible floating in the foreground, and the four
floating helmets and swords in the background are supposed to be full city
guard characters.

FFXI d3d8to9 graphical issue1
I am attempting to convert the d3d8 api to d3d9 using the d3d8to9 wrapper
project(https://github.com/crosire/d3d8to9). The main motivations are to
experiment with using DXVK to see if performance would be any better. There
are many instances of the game that slow down for seemingly no reason. Most
notably are when many UI elements are on the screen and areas with high foliage
or many NPCs.
There are other projects like this one but this one is the only one I can get
to launch the game without crashing in Wine. During my initial tests with
DXVK, I was able to get a frame rate of 250-300fps in the title screen,
additionally 130-180fps in game running around San'doria but with one major
pitfall, that there are many graphical issues.
I have read that a common practice on Windows machines is to use this wrapper
paired with "ReShade" to do the same thing I'm trying to achieve through wine
and DXVK.
I'm unsure if the problem is with Wine or with d3d8to9 but I figured I'd start
here. I'll attach a full d3d8 trace with only using d3d8to9 wrapper as well as
2 screenshots showing the issue.

Purchased game from yahoo games <Blood Ties>
After installing and configuring wine 1.1.27,
I installed and registered the application.
The game starts with some bad fonts and graphics
and the mouse is not visable when in full screen
there is an animated mouse associated with the
application but I found that when you entered into
options and selected windowed mode that usually fixes
that issue with the mouse.
Now when you enter windowed mode the game crashes.
Earlier versions of wine <1.1.XX - 1.1.26> would not
allow you to register the game but with your improvements
to the gecko engine I am able to register the game with
no problems, but there seems to be a problem when the registration
download. The download attempts to install new registry keys and
wine is not accepting them <wine vers 1.1.27>
Can you please help.

After some play time (anything from 1 minute to 3 hours) the game either
freezes with music playing on background or shows runtime error popup and
quits. Sometimes it simply crashes and shows wine internal stack trace (which
has nothing useful).
Problems always start after first "BaseMemAllocator_Commit fnAlloc failed"
error message and happen during battle animations. This is example log just
before crash:

When playing Grim Dawn (GOG latest version 1.1.9.3) it eventually starts
lagging, freezing, and finally crashes.
Best way to reproduce it I've found is Shattered Realms mode from Forgotten
Gods addon (act 7). Around 3-4 levels (each includes 3 monster maps and 1 boss
map) game starts lagging, after 10+ levels it crashes for me. Just playing
campaign reproduces issue as well.
I've tried switching various graphics settings, switching wine to wine-staging,
running without dxvk or in d3d9 mode, it didn't fix issue for me. Only
workaround I've found is quitting game and launching it again.
I've switched to running 64-bit game executable, and it still didn't this
issue. It looks like some resource leak: application consumes more and more
memory until it crashes. But it crashes long before all system memory is
consumed.

Heads-up, this game is NSFW. However, the relevant part of the trial version is
safe, as is the page linked below at the time of writing (though not the rest
of the website).
The trial version can be downloaded at
https://qruppo.com/products/henpri/special/trial/, either mirror should yield
qruppo_0004t.zip [SHA1: 677e4b3439d792d6ba9bbd074c5c202badc7c972].
Extract using unzip -O shift-jis or similar to preserve the Japanese file
names.
Run 'ヘンタイ・プリズン体験版SPLIT 1.exe'. (I have LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 set, but it doesn't
seem to be required. Setting the OS version to Windows 8.1 gets rid of the "OS
unsupported" nag dialog.)
Select NEWGAME.
Advance the text, you can fast-forward by holding left-ctrl.
The game will crash after the first few scenes, right after a panorama shot of
a prison high up on a cliff. (At fast-forward speed it only takes a couple of
seconds.)
"wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 00000000 at address 005CDEEE
(thread 0024), starting debugger..."
At that point, a short video should play.
Reportedly one can work around the crash by installing wmp11, evr.dll and
dxva2.dll, as well as mf-install. I fully realize that WINE's media foundation
/ video playback support isn't perfect, but IMHO a crash without a useful error
message is still a bug.
Fresh 6.21 prefix (winehq official repo, Ubuntu 18.04), -dbg package is
installed.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Rebirth 1 from GOG on 6.0-r3c exits early without
message or backtrace (exception possibly handled by application) directly after
loading builtin xactengine3_7.dll.
Using native xactengine3_7 works around the problem.

Delphi 2, 3, 7 has problems running apps from IDE.
Apps crash with exception. They run normally when doing so outside of the IDE.
It's probably related to the debug functionality.

And some hint from Delphi 7:

I haven't tried Delphi 5, but it likely has the issue as well.

When running the installer for update KB2936068, it never terminates, even
though it installs successfully. Pressing CTL+C in the terminal used to launch
it is a workaround, and does not seem to have any negative side effects unless
it is ran from a script, in which case it terminates the whole script.

Hello folks,
mentioned in https://jira.reactos.org/browse/CORE-16043 which is about a
different issue -> bug 47242
https://jira.reactos.org/browse/CORE-16043?focusedCommentId=114608&page=com…
--- quote ---
...
However, the fact that the debug log says "NtOpenSymbolicLinkObject(Z) failed
with Status 0x006cf6a4" while the corresponding code line is:
457 /*
458 * We failed at opening the \SystemRoot link (usually due to wrong
459 * access rights). Do not consider this as a fatal error, but use
460 * instead the image file path as the installation source path.
461 */
462 DPRINT1("NtOpenSymbolicLinkObject(%wZ) failed with Status
0x%08lx\n",
463 &SystemRootPath, Status);
is scarier, because "0x006cf6a4" is NOT a valid status code, and SystemRootPath
is up to this point still pointing to the constant string L"
SystemRoot" in UNICODE_STRING format. Maybe also their debugging procedure does
not understand what %wZ means ? (and so it displays garbage)

Indeed. Trace log:

Splitting this off of bug 51513 since the original issue has a fix incoming,
but this particular program is still broken.
After fixing the IndexOutOfRangeException and the NotSupportedException behind
it in Wine Mono (not yet merged in Wine, use the CI build from
https://github.com/madewokherd/mono/pull/19), the application tries and fails
to instantiate CLSID_NetFwRule which is not implemented in Wine's hnetcfg.
After that, it crashes in GC code that shouldn't ever crash, so apparently
there's some sort of memory corruption going on.

I'm trying to run two classic open source flight sims, Rowan's Mig Alley and
Rowan's Battle of Britain, on Ubuntu 21.10 with wine 7.0 rc3 (Staging). With
virtual desktop turned off, a black square occludes the 3D view. Perhaps this
is a clue about what is going on - you can fly the aircraft by holding down
<ALT> <TAB> task switcher display, although the 3D view is, of course, postage
stamp size in this view.
Also holding down the keyboard <CTRL> F6 keyboard focus shortcut causes the
display to flash between a black screen and the 3D flight sim view.
If I turn on virtual desktop in wine cfg, the 3D flight sim view works in both
games. However, the 2D game canvas view is missing many icons when virtual
desktop is on. (The 2D view works fine if virtual desktop is off).
Thus there are two bugs:
1. without virtual desktop, a black square occludes the 3D flight sim view
2. with virtual desktop on, the 2D game canvas view is missing many icons.
Please suggest any ideas about how to fix either of these two bugs.
These games are open source. Linux/wine installers for the games are here:
https://github.com/sim-museum/esports-f ... igAlley.sh
https://github.com/sim-museum/esports-f ... Britain.sh
The games package can be downloaded here:

You don't need a special program for this font format, once installed, they
should be available as any other supported font.

I'd like to test this, but I don't know of a good sample program with which to
test it. Is there a sample program which employs such fonts available?

I tested the included release build of this program with wine-7.0-rc3. The
terminal output was like this:
[alex@alex-pc ~]$ wine
/home/alex/.wine/drive_c/tests/52/Chap14/Scramble/Release
/Scramble.exe
01e8:fixme:win:LockWindowUpdate (0001002A), partial stub!
01e8:fixme:win:LockWindowUpdate (00000000), partial stub!
[alex@alex-pc ~]$
The scrambled tiles were left all over the place when the program ended, and
only dragging my terminal window around to smear the tiles clean cleared them.

that UrlDownloadToFile doesn't support ftp protocol, only http.
No problem, I figured, we've got an IE implementation, I can use that!
but alas:
$ wine iexplore.exe ftp://ftp.gnupg.org/gcrypt/binary/sha1sum.exe

The same occurs for http protocol downloads.
Works fine on Windows. Full terminal output attached.

Bridge It is an old game (~2004) developed in conjunction with Nvidia.
Therefore, it requires Nvidia hardware to play.
I'm using an Nvidia 8600GT, but the game fails to detect it. Upon launch, I am
greeted by a message box "Incompatibly hardware detected" since it expects
Nvidia hardware.
I am unsure if this is because the game can't possibly know about an
8th-generation Geforce, or because of Wine. It was designed with the Gf4, 5 and
6 in mind.
I get these:
fixme:wgl:X11DRV_wglGetPixelFormatAttribivARB unsupported 2004 WGL Attribute
upon launchung the game, ranging from 2004 to 2009. The screen goes blank for a
short while before the Dialog box appears.

It seems a "regression" between WINE 6.5 & WINE 6.6 happened.
Since Wine version 6.6 the current working directory is reset to
"/" when executing a winegcc/wineg++ generated program (winelib). While in Wine
6.5 and
previous versions (from 6.0 onwards) the current working directory was the
directory where the
command was executed from.

Here you can see the program, compilation and result using the latest WINE 7.0

Hi,
I don't know if i explain correctly. I installed the latest version of EA
Origin in a 32 and 64 bits wineprefix and the issue is the same.
The installation and the update work but when i launch the application, it
launched correctly (see my screenshot) but unfortunatly, the Origin's window
does not appear.
Which log i can share to (with a good luck) find where come from the issue.
Thanks,

In an osu! Discord server I'm in I've received multiple reports of osu!
crashing, with the stack trace given by the game ending in
System.Net.UnsafeNclNativeMethods.OSSOCK.select.
According to old .NET Core code the .NET Framework calls select() with manually
constructed `fd_set`s consisting of only two pointers. Since Wine always reads
the whole fd_set, if these allocations fall on the edge of the heap Wine tries
to read past the end of the heap and segfaults.

Hi,
As you can see in my bug report #40531, Max Payne 3 runs on Wine with the
Staging Patches.
Unfortunatly, the game does not work if Wine is set to Vista and >. I know that
d3d10 and d3d11 are not implemented completly but the game support :
- d3d9
- d3d10
- d3d10_1
- d3d11
So, when these APIs will be implemented, it will be easier to see the graphical
glitch present with d3d9 can be fixed by d3d1*
Thanks,
Maxime
PS : Ask me which debug channel i must to use to give the best log to find the
issue.

Summary: Mouse sensibility quick in-game

Hi,
For Assassin's Creed games series, there is a "small" problem with the mouse
sensibility in-game when we must to turn the character.
On Windows, the mouse sensibility is set to 5/10 for the X/Y Axis. This is the
"normal" value.
On Wine, if the mouse sensibility is 5/10, it's equal to one 10/10 on Windows.
I must to set the sensibility to 1/10. And even with this value, the
sensibility is quick in-game more than the Windows's value by default (5/10).
I open this bug report to know if it's possible to adjust something even if the
game is playable.
Thanks,
Max

Split from bug 51442. Copying the description from comments 11 and 17:
"To reproduce, just go to mail.google.com, possibly login to your gmail
account, browse some mail and the categories on the left. At some point, it
will stop loading as if you're offline. When this happens, no other connections
will work; you can attempt to go to any other website on the URL bar and it
will not connect, but hang indefinitely, once this bug is triggered.
Sometimes, it starts hanging as soon as mail.google.com is loaded, and then of
course no other connection works anymore, but that happens mostly on Firefox
rather than Pale Moon. By "hang" I mean the connections hang, not the rest of
the browser."
and
"This bug can be triggered quite reliably without hitting other bugs with:
firefox.exe -private -devtools https://www.phoronix.com
It is very likely that at least one connection remains stalled a no other
content can be downloaded since then."
It's actually due to a crash; Firefox uses select() and passes an fd_set that
is larger than FD_SETSIZE, which causes our select() implementation to trash
the stack.

Hi,

But why i create this bug report ?
Because on the Wine-Staging bugzilla

the Cloud Save works with WinVista and actually, it's not possible to try and
confirm his solution.

Hi,
I tried to launch AC Origins with wine 3.5. I use Wine-Staging because Uplay
does not work without it.
When i launch it, the process ACOrigins.exe exist in htop but it close ~5s
later alone. There aren't error/fixme message which explains that.
The game uses 2 protections, Denuvo 4.9 and VMProtect so maybe this issue is
the same than Bug 44438.
I did a +seh,+relay log if you want to check something and / or confirm that
it's a f**king DRM issue.

x-error-of-failed-request.log
Since commit 0cb79db12ac7c48477518dcff269ccc5d6b745e0, resolution change in
some games lead to a X11 crash similar to the one pasted in the attachment
"x-error-of-failed-request.log".
I assigned this bug to WINE 4.6 as this is the first version triggering it, but
it is still there with current master (5.14). A revert of the faulty commit
still applies cleanly on top of WINE 5.14.
The regression test has been done using Age of Empires to trigger the crash, as
it happens reliably when trying to change the game resolution (640x480,
800x600, 1024x768) through the game options.
If the change is done without crashing, using a patched WINE build, the game
will start in the new resolution next time and work fine with it even when
going back to an unpatched WINE build. But trying to change the resolution
again in unpatched WINE, including to go back to the previous resolution in
use, would trigger the crash again.
I think this might be the same bug that got experienced in #47677, I’m going to
run some tests with Age of Empires 2 to get a confirmation.

Note: The error can only be reproduced with associated hardware (Fractal Audio

I could identify two reasons to reproduce the error:
1) When the program starts and the hardware (AX8) is connected, the program
reads some blocks of the current state, this sometimes leads to crashes.
2) If I want to navigate through different memory banks (called Banks), the
program crashes while reading out the preview of the banks.
Workaround for 1): just restart the program and at some point (after some
crashes) it will load the preset and works just fine.
The error was not there approximately two months ago. I tried also to run the
program in a 32 bit

Broken +server,+winsock Trace from 6.x
I'm using a 32-bit Wine 6.21devel prefix on Ubuntu 20.04.3. I have a custom
application written in VB6 that uses the winsock (ws2_32.dll) API to listen for
network connections and respond to requests.
I use the following winetricks:
DISPLAY=:99 winetricks -q vcrun2008
DISPLAY=:99 winetricks -q vcrun2010
DISPLAY=:99 winetricks -q msxml6
DISPLAY=:99 winetricks -q corefonts
DISPLAY=:99 winetricks -q vb6run
I run the application with the following command line:
WINEARCH="win32" WINEDLLOVERRIDES="oleaut32=n" wine RCWebServerTest.exe &
NOTE: I've tried both with and without the oleaut32 native override.
The application is able to bind OK to 127.0.0.1:8080, but when try to curl to
it with the following command:
curl http://127.0.0.1:8080
curl is able to connect to the application, but the application does not
subsequently respond to the request.
Some debugging shows that the I'm receiving an FD_ACCEPT message in my app's
socket windowproc, but unexpectedly I receive no other FD_ messages (notably,
no FD_READ message).
After dumping +server,+winsock debug channels (attached), I see the server's
"get_message" and "select" calls are apparently "stuck" in a PENDING state,
with many repeated log messages along these lines:
0024: get_message( flags=00000000, get_win=00000000, get_first=00000000,
get_last=ffffffff, hw_id=00000000, wake_mask=00000000, changed_mask=00000000 )
0024: get_message() = PENDING { win=00000000, msg=00000000, wparam=00000000,
lparam=00000000, type=0, x=0, y=0, time=00000000, active_hooks=80000001,
total=0, data={} }
0024: select( flags=2, cookie=0031ef4c, timeout=infinite, size=8,
prev_apc=0000, result={}, data={WAIT,handles={007c}}, context={} )
0024: select() = PENDING { call={APC_NONE}, apc_handle=0000, context={} }
I've tried the exact same app on 5.x versions of Wine and it works as expected
- curl connects and receives data from my application. I performed a similar
+server,+winsock dump under the working 5.x version, and 2 things that stand
out are that the 5.x series performs periodic "flush" calls, and the
"get_message" and "select" calls never have a "PENDING" status. For example:
0009: flush(
async={handle=0004,event=0000,iosb=0032ee10,user=006414b8,apc=00000000,apc_context=00000000}
)
0009: flush() = 0 { event=00d8 }
0009: select( flags=2, cookie=0032eadc, timeout=infinite, prev_apc=0000,
result={}, data={WAIT_ALL,handles={00d8}} )
0009: select() = 0 { timeout=infinite, call={APC_NONE}, apc_handle=0000 }
0009: get_message( flags=00000001, get_win=00000000, get_first=00000000,
get_last=ffffffff, hw_id=00000000, wake_mask=00000000, changed_mask=00000000 )
0009: get_message() = 0 { win=0001006c, msg=00000804, wparam=000000d4,
lparam=00000001, type=6, x=0, y=0, time=a00af81e, active_hooks=80000001,
total=0, data={} }
The attached working & broken logs are quite large, but if you search for
FD_ACCEPT, that's where the curl connection gets accepted, and then the
subsequent lines are where the problem is evident in the broken log (or
expected behaviour is evident in the working log).
At this point I am stumped and not sure what else I can do to get the app
working under Wine 6.x, as I believe that there is a bug that is beyond my
capabilities to diagnose & fix.
Thank you in advance for any help, and If there's any additional information
needed from me, I will provide it.

The LABS and BBC Symphony Orchestra Discover plugins can no longer find their
sample libraries as of Wine 6.7, and they'll show a generic 'Error #1:
Something went wrong' error message instead. After bisecting, it seems like
commit 04a8213 caused this regression. That commit changes WINE_FILEVERSION and
WINE_PRODUCTVERSION to match Windows 10 instead of Windows 7. There aren't any
new or different warnings or fixmes printed between Wine 6.6 (where those
plugins did work correctly) and Wine 6.7 (where they don't), but I've only
tested that with WINEDEBUG's defaults. Reverting the commit on the master
branch makes the plugins work again as expected. I tested this with the 64-bit
VST3 versions of BBCSOD 1.1.9 and LABS 1.3.7 under yabridge 3.1.1 (or, well,
the version that's to become 3.1.1).

backtrace
Game plays normally for a while then crashes during turn change (from human to
AI). Restarting the game from the point it crashes (via autosave file) is
possible, and the game continues for a while before crashing again. It looks
like the problem is related to time playing, and not to a specific point in the
game.
OS: Fedora 35
Kernel: 5.15.12-200.fc35.x86_64
Wine: 7-rc2 (staging)
The Open General installer can be downloaded directly from
http://www.open-general.com/installer-full.php
After installation, you'll need to emulate a virtual desktop. I'm using
1920x1080 and 32 bit (Windows 7) via Play4Linux. I tested it in a separate Wine
installation too.

Summary: Samsung Smart View 2.0 text does not render

With recent Wine versions (at least current GIT), Samsung Smart View 2.0 starts
up. No text is rendered however. See here for the relevant logging:
http://pastebin.ru/EfgAeaGT
nsivov has more information about this problem:
[17:46:57] <nsivov> Z_God, today git has a stub for dwrite thing you got in
your logs, could you show me updated logs when you get time?
[23:01:34] <Z_God> nsivov: yep, I just compiled a new build (I'll try it now &
then sleep :)
[23:02:44] <Z_God> nsivov: visually it still looks the same (text is not
rendered)
[23:03:13] <nsivov> sure, it wasn't supposed to help with that
[23:03:32] <nsivov> log should be different though
[23:04:05] <Z_God> nsivov: http://pastebin.ru/EfgAeaGT
[23:04:48] <Z_God> is that the info you needede?
[23:05:14] <Z_God> on windows 7 the font is solid white non-serif btw
[23:05:17] <Z_God> needed*
[23:06:05] <nsivov> needededed -> and ran away on a motorbike
[23:06:58] <nsivov> Z_God, yes, thanks, I expected that, now it needs texture
bounds, and then bitmap itself
[23:07:41] <nsivov> if you fill a buffer you'll probably get solid white
rectangle, or something like that
[23:10:17] <Z_God> hehe
[23:10:35] <Z_God> alright
[23:10:54] <nsivov> do you know if it's a wpf that's using dwrite?
[23:11:06] <Z_God> no idea
[23:11:36] <Z_God> is there a trick to quickly figure out if there's such a
dependency?
[23:12:31] <Z_God> the application is a free download btw if you'd like to try
it locally
[23:13:35] <nsivov> could you please open a bug for that, we'll want this part
implement at some point, if not for .net libs then for others
[23:14:31] <Z_God> yes
[23:14:43] <Z_God> it seems it uses presentationframework btw
[23:14:57] <nsivov> that's what wpf means, yes
[23:15:14] <Z_God> not sure if that's what drawing this, but a grep of that
string results in some hits in the binaries
[23:15:33] <Z_God> what should the title of the bug be?
[23:15:43] <Z_God> it's about the fonts not being rendered?
[23:18:26] <nsivov> sure, also please mention that it needs to be in win7
version to reproduce that problem
