How reproducible:
>50%, depends on how long you wait after QQMusic starts. If you click the "Exit/退出" item very early then there maybe no deadlock, for me it seems waiting for 5 seconds before clicking "exit/退出" is enough to get the deadlock.
Never get a deadlock with native msvcr80.
Additional info:
1. I can reproduce the deadlock when +relay trace is enable.
2. With +msvcrt trace, I found the only log regarding thread 0040 is:
--- snip ---
0040:trace:msvcrt:DllMain (0x7e030000, DLL_THREAD_ATTACH, (nil)) pid(8),
tid(40), tls(0)

sh winetricks -q vcrun6 dotnet20 msxml6

Then download SP1 VS80sp1-KB926601-X86-ENU.exe from

It puts up an extracting dialog, thinks a while, then seems to abort with
the dialog
"To install this product, please run Setup.exe. For other installation
options, see the Installation section of ReadMe.htm."
which is funny considering there's no setup.exe (the .exe contains an .msp,
no setup.exe).
Since this is an .msp patch, I wouldn't be surprised if this
were caused by a bug in our msi implementation.

It seemed to be rather short lived in development cycle, only used for internal

Memory error when trying to open the Form Designer
I installed under a clean Wine prefix.
I ran winetricks -q dotnet20 msxml6
I installed Visual C# 2005 Express from the .iso image. I always close the
Startup window when Visual C# opens right away to prevent the
When I try to create a new "Windows Application" project, and click on Form1.cs
to open the Designer, the form does not display and the designer is blank.
Choosing Designer from the menus displays the same, and even adding a new form
to the project has the same result.
Clicking on the blank area does update the Properties window with the details
of the Form.
Closing Visual C# and opening again, I'm now getting a popup error when
clicking on the Form1.cs to load the designer: "Attempted to read or write
protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt."
I've attached a screenshot of this. In the output window on the bottom, the
error is listed as well as an MSBuild error, even though I didn't try to build
or debug. This also happens now if I try to create a new WindowsApplication
project from the template. I get the popup right away when the project loads,
without even clicking on the form. When exiting Visual C#, after the UI is
closed, an error dialog pops up telling me "Microsoft Visual C# has encountered
a problem and needs to close." I uncheck restart and click Don't Send. I've
also attached a screenshot.
Checking my system processes, I see that WindowsApplication1.exe is still
running under wine, even though I never started debug or compiled. If I kill
this and let wine stop, and then open VC# and try again, the process repeats.
It seems like the only time I didn't get any error loading the Form Designer
was the first run after install, but I still only had a blank white screen. I
also went through Tools->Options and when trying to view/set the Windows Forms
Designer options on the right hand side I get "An error occured loading this
property page." and nothing else.
I'll try the Windows trick of rebooting and see if that makes a difference.
Anyone encountered this before or know if I have to install any other
libraries?

Currently we have only a FIXME for this case. It seems to cause only a small
visual glitch - the panes' titles backgrounds are black. The attached patch can
be used to check that this is the problem. Of course, it is not a correct
solution of the problem.

Visual C++ 2005 Trial installs ok with following recipe:
winetricks mfc42 dotnet20
use wine-1.3.15 to work around bug 27987 (or maybe just create the directory
that bug mentions)
mount image and run installer
Trying to load the projects generated by
tools/winapi/msvcmaker
throws up one "operation could not be completed" dialog on display.drv16.dsp,
but seems to complete.
(The IDE may freeze for 30 seconds after loading the wine projects
the first time, but is then responsive sooner on later runs.)
Doing Build / Build Solution compiles a few files, and generates real-looking
warnings, but then the IDE crashes. You can get the IDE to crash sooner by
running with WINEDEBUG=warn+heap; then it doesn't even compile one file before
it crashes.
Installing vcrun2005 might make it slighly more stable, but doesn't solve
the problem.

Since Visual C++ Express 2005 installs, I figured I'd try the trial for
full-on Visual C++ 2005, available at the given url.
Sure enough, it took 30 minutes, but it installed!
Then I tried building a project. I tried both Chromium's net unittest
and a trivial old visual c++ 6 (?) project from codeguru,
http://www.codeguru.com/cpp/g-m/gdi/capturingimages/article.php/c6333/
In both cases, visual c++ 2005 complained during compile:
MSPDBSRV: fatal error: Unable to start server: server already exist
>From +relay, the commandline it's using to start mspdbsrv is
C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\\Common7\\ide\\mspdbsrv.exe -start
-spawn
And sure enough, running
wine mspdbsrv -start -spawn
in directory
C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\\Common\\ide\\
generates the same error message (and a remarkably short +relay log).

There has been a regression in Wine-staging 6.6 that causes you to be unable to
look around in World of Warcraft whenever you use a hardware cursor. To enable
a hardware cursor, set the "rawMouseEnable" Cvar to "1". This affects both
World of Warcraft classic and World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, and I could
reproduce it on THREE different computers.
When you press & hold the mouse button to take control of the camera, the
cursor disappears as expected. Normally you would then be able to look around.
In Wine-staging 6.5 this worked fine, however, under Wine-staging 6.6 the mouse
would be able to move a VERY short distance, and then completely to get stuck.
In order to move again, you would have to release the mouse button, and then
press & hold it again. This would again allow you to move this very tiny
distance before it gets stuck again.
When using a software cursor the issue is not present, however, a software
cursor has its own issues (not related to wine, also an issue under Windows).

Created attachment 54589

Foobar2000 equalizer under Wine.
I'm using foobar2000 1.3.10. I first encountered this issue on Ubuntu 16.04
Cinnamon and Wine 1.6.2 x64, on a (I think) 32-bit wineprefix.
# Setup
* I also replicated this issue in Wine 1.9.10, 32-bit (PlayOnLinux).
* To (hopefully) avoid foobar2000-specific tweaks, I used [Install dialog] ->
_Install a non-listed program_. Then I created a new app profile and installed
foobar2000.
# Procedure
* Launch foobar2000. Press Ctrl-P to open Options.
* There's a tree at the left. Expand the Playback entry, and click DSP Manager.
* There will be two white boxes. On the right side, locate "Equalizer" and
double-click it.
* On the top of the dialog, click the "Configure selected" button.
# Result
There should be a combo box of presets, as well as a "load" or "save" button.
These are missing under Wine.
I tried using both theming on and off.

Hello folks,
continuation of bug 32408
Adding this bug for documentation purposes.
Prerequisite: 'winetricks -q dotnet40' (32-bit WINEPREFIX)
Optional (the client will download/install on its own): 'winetricks -q msxml6'
The app crashes in libgcrypt.
With proper debug symbols for i686 libgcrypt we get:

---
The "final" patch (using __attribute__ ((aligned (16))) on "RIJNDAEL_context"
structure) did not fix the issue for me.
At least on my Fedora 16, gcc version 4.6.3 20120306 (Red Hat 4.6.3-2) still
misaligned context buffers, causing segfault.
I added "-mpreferred-stack-boundary=2" to CFLAGS to force gcc to realign the
stack in function prolog.
Fixed prolog code:

.text:08001EE0 selftest_basic_128:

.text:08001EE1 mov ebp, esp

.text:08001EE7 and esp, 0FFFFFFF0h
.text:08001EEA lea esp, [esp-22Ch]
...
--- snip ---
I suspect there are various other distros still broken regarding this bug hence
you need to build a fixed libgcrypt version on your own.

Bug #: 30078
Summary: Many installers fail to detect MSXML6 component (Wine
doesn't advertise its own MSXML6)
Product: Wine

Hello,
many installers require MSXML 6.0 component.
It might be useful in future to have Wine advertise its builtin by default
instead of 'winetricks -q msxml6' (considering some maturity of Wine's own).
There are different methods to detect the presence of MSXML6.
One of the most used ones which is also suggested by Microsoft is using
registry data.
Example prerequisite check from bug 19223 (Microsoft SQL Server Management
Studio Express (SSMSE)):

With that registry key present, "MSXML 6.0" is considered installed.

When clicking a Ribbon menu item, the associated action is no longer being
activated. The main action of the Ribbon menu button (upper half) still works,
but after clicking the lower half of the element to open the submenu, the
submenu items don't respond to mouseclicks.
Tested with Ubuntu 20.04. Wine 5.0 on another Ubuntu 20.04 installation still
works.

The log shows

native d3dx9_36 works around the problem.
Digging into it a bit, I see that the game uses shader
assembly, and one of the lines of source is
def c96, -1, 1, 1, 1 ; somewhere I've got a bug. flipping the vectors with
this fixes it.
Kludging preprocess_shader() to replace "I've" with "I,ve" lets
the game display properly.

Using Mission Control, when I switch from another desktop/space to the one the
app (LDCad) is using, the app window is not active. That is, it does not
respond to mouseover or keyboard inputs until I first click in the window. The
effect is as if the window is in the background of another app and needs to be
brought to the front, except there is no other app running in this
desktop/space and the Wine window it runs in is already the front window.
This issue exists beginning with Wine 5.0 and can be resolved by reverting to

<cstdlib> and <cmath> of the C++ standard library fail to find <stdlib.h> and

This seems to be because wineg++ (built with --prefix=/usr) now adds -isystem

searched (https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=70129).

Hello folks,
as it says. There are a number of loader regressions in Wine 6.5. This one
maybe not important for most users but important for me.
x64dbg debugger requires msvcr120 and msvcp120 overrides (bug 45916). Since you
want the CRT of the debuggee to be builtin to debug Wine bugs, it has to be
per-app override.

I'm currently experimenting with O365, trying to download and install it under
Linux through wine. I had to hack the website already with a custom client
because the website rejects anything that does not present itself as Windows.
Once that part got passed I could download the online 64 bits installer.
Unfortunatly one of the first steps any of these online installers attempts is
starting IBackgroundCopyJob. From what my wine-staging console is telling me
support for these functions is missing:
- 0160:fixme:qmgr:BackgroundCopyJob_AddFileWithRanges
- 0160:fixme:qmgr:BackgroundCopyJob_SetPriority

- 0160:fixme:qmgr:BackgroundCopyJob_Suspend
Is there any plan to support these functions?

There's not much else I can attach at the moment. Compiling a 64 bit wine
version with the previous patches for League of Legends (#47198 #47915) does
not seem enough to run the game. Its crashing deep inside the anti cheat during
initialization. I'm trying to track this down.

Framework which normally works on Windows 2003 and higher. When attempting to
install, installer displays "The installer was interrupted before
Test_Application could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try

winetricks, setups seems to install my application, but does not work
correctly. I prefer to use mono rather than dotnet40 as it's more stable.

Fail with Wine 6.0
Firestorm viewer runs, 3D graphics and all, with good performance. Even audio
works. But there are repeated crashes in "dullihan-host", which is a headless
version of Chromium it uses when the 3D world needs to display web stuff.
It's so close to working. I can use the 3D world, as long as I don't use any
feature that invokes the internal web browser.
Versions:
Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
Firestorm 6.4.13 (63251) Mar 2 2021 18:51:46 (64bit / SSE2)
(Firestorm-Releasex64) with Havok support
Wine 6.0, recommended release version, downloaded from WineHQ.
System info (this is while running under Wine 6.0)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor (3693.05 MHz)
Memory: 34086 MB
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit (Build 17763)

Graphics Card Memory: 8192 MB
Windows Graphics Driver Version: 26.21.0013.9135
OpenGL Version: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 460.39
Installed Mono.
Installed recommended Gecko files, I think. The MSI installer ran and exited
silently for each.
Same failure occurred with the Wine that comes with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. Per
Wine site, removed that and installed Wine 6.0, recommended release.
Works with Wine 3.0 on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS on a different computer.

Summary: Half-life engine's software rendering is ridiculously
slow on Intel GMA 945
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.26
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: richardcavell(a)mail.com
When I play Half-Life on Wine in software rendering mode, the screen renders
really slowly. About one frame every five to ten seconds. What is actually
being displayed is graphically correct, it's just ridiculously slow.
While watching the screen, the top rasterline is updated to the new frame, then
the one below it, then the one below that, and so on, until the line being
updated reaches the bottom of the screen. It then starts on a new frame.
There is no tearing within the middle of a line. The lines are output at a
perfectly constant speed. If I increase the resolution, it is slower to update
an entire frame. My computer is easily able to render Duke Nukem 3D at fast
frame rate, so there has to be a bottleneck or bug somewhere. People who have
non-Intel graphics hardware don't get this problem.
I suspect that Wine is incorrectly waiting for VSync after outputting each
raster line.
The problem occurs also with any Half-Life engine derivative (Counter-Strike,
Condition Zero, etc). Half-Life is capable of rendering in OpenGL, software
rendering or Direct3D, selectable from a menu.
I'm on 64-bit Ubuntu Karmic with all current updates applied. Half-Life and
Steam have updated themselves. Intel video drivers are version 2.8.0. Wine
version 1.1.26. Xserver-xorg version 7.4. Second-generation MacBook using an
Intel GMA 945.
Jaunty uses version 2.6.3 of the Intel drivers, and Half-Life and its
derivatives are basically completely unuseable on those drivers - they're just
too buggy.
I'm happy to perform any experiments that people suggest. Running hl.exe from
console doesn't give any printf output, since the main Half-Life engine isn't
actually in that executable.

comtest.c:105: Test failed: Moving temporary file failed
comtest.c:377: 2 failures in child process
And the mscoree failures:
mscoree.c:591: Test failed: Compilation failed
mscoree.c:591: Test failed: Compilation failed
It seems the csc.exe process dies very early on, such that it doesn't show up
in a +relay log at all, but it is in a +server log.
Bisect result:

I tried to install Neverwinter but I get a program error. To reproduce the

1. Download the game from https://www.playneverwinter.com/ and install it. You
will have two icons on desktop, one for Arc and one for Never winter.
2. Double click on Neverwinter icon (on desktop) and wait for updating to
