I just tried my original program, C-W95.exe, under Wine 20050725, and it still
doesn't run. I first tried running it in the console window, and the only
message I got was "fixme:comm:SetupComm insize 4096 outsize 4096 unimplemented
stub". I then ran it with "WINEDEBUG=+comm,+file,+relay,+ntdll", which produced
a ~100MB file. I got rid of about 75% of the debug messages by deleting the
messages preceeding the "fixme:comm:SetupComm insize 4096 outsize 4096
unimplemented stub" message, then I gzipped the remaining messages. I just
submitted the gzipped debug output as attachment (id=1000).
Interestingly, I no longer found the error code 0x3e5, ERROR_IO_PENDING, in the
debug messages. Could someone who is skilled at reading the debug output
confirm that something new is occurring? Thanks in advance!

David, the app has disabled its controls while it's attempting to connect. I've
noticed that if I wait some time, then eventually a "Connection Error" window
appears in my alt-tab list. "Switching" to it doesn't show any window, but
pressing escape causes the main window to enable its control again.
As far as the connection error, I believe it's because of unimplemented SSL in
wine's secur32. Can you install IE and retry?

Wine gots in errors when trying to execute W40k: Dawn of War (application ID
1918). I have (poor) integrated graphics card: Intel(R) 82865G Graphics
Controller. But it is sufficient to play that game on Windows in this platform.
On windows W40k.exe uses Software TnL, but on Wine I cant set it, so it tries
to use Hardware TnL, which propably leads to problems.
Here is "warnings.log" file from my setup
(last try 2005-09-02 11:21 is with Wine 20050830 CVS /
earlier try 21:10:41.1 was when running on same host with Windows 2000

Tried to install Morrowind in 20050830, the installer (Installshield?) looks
like it initializes properly, but when it should start copying files it crashes.
This on a fresh install. In 20050725 it did still work, although the
installation took around 12h compared to native which installs it in 5min. In
20050830 the installation still works with native dcom.

Some apps, specifically Dark Age of Camelot, suffer from a problem where the
patcher can't find files in your installation and then incorrectly reports that
the installation is missing some files.
How to reproduce:
Copy a working cedega installation of Dark Age of Camelot over to Wine.
Expected behavior:
Wine should at least get through the patcher, since it does not use D3D.
Reproduceable: Always
Works fine in: Cedega / Winex
Additional information:
Run with
# WINEDEBUG=warn+all wine camelot.exe
Example debug report:
camelot/Camelot/SomeFoLder/someFile.mpx required a case-insensitive search ->
camelot/camelot/somefolder/somefile.mpx

Summary: Problem with minimized top-level windows
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: PC
URL: http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?appId=2029
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-gdi
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: devel8421(a)hotmail.com
When running PokerStars client app (downloadable from PokerStars.com, 3M
download size) in 'Managed' mode (default), main window often becomes not only
minimized, but also resized to 1x1 pixel without any option to restore it back.
With "Managed"="N" or "Desktop" parameter the problem doesn't occur; doesn't
occur either under CrossOver. Problem reported for Gnome/KDE/xfce.
Steps to reproduce:
- download client from pokerstars.com (3M); install client as
'wine PokerStarsInstall.exe' (goes smooth)
- start client (should be started from the same directory where .exe resides -
either as "wine PokerStarsUpdate.exe" or as "wine PokerStars.exe"), main window
will be shown.
- double-click on any table in the list; table will be opened, and main window
will be minimized (and in fact sized to 1x1).
- Now click on 'Leave Table' button on the table, this table window will be
closed but main window will stay 1x1 sized and won't ever be restored.
- There is a wierd workaround (at least under Gnome, seems to exist under other
managers either) - if _before_ closing the table window you will click on
main-window-image-in-taskbar once (to remove 1x1 window 'moving' it to the
taskbar), closing table window will restore main window properly.

About deleting it says:
"
Deleting Registry Keys and Values
To delete a registry key with a .reg file, put a hyphen (-) in front of the
RegistryPath in the .reg file. For example, to delete the Test subkey from the
following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software
put a hyphen in front of the following registry key in the .reg file:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Test
The following example has a .reg file that can perform this task.
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Test]
To delete a registry value with a .reg file, put a hyphen (-) after the equals
sign following the DataItemName in the .reg file. For example, to delete the
TestValue registry value from the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Test
put a hyphen after the "TestValue"= in the .reg file. The following example has
a .reg file that can perform this task.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Test
"TestValue"=-
"
Currently wine's regedit doesn't work both for deleting keys and for deleting
values.

Update: I had originally reported that Warcraft III install.exe and game patch
programs hit a 100% CPU bug. I believe that I traced it as far as wine's
msvcrt, because using a native msvcrt fixed the problem. Shortly after the
report, the problem was fixed -- no idea when the fix was committed, sorry.
Since it was probably in msvcrt, it would have probably been wide scale enough
to be a regression in many apps. Since War3 install.exe and the patch programs
have long since worked, my guess is that the original reporter's problem has
been fixed too, since the time period is roughly the same.
This bug should be closed as fixed because 1) my problem no longer exists, and
2) unless the reporter gives more information, we have nothing else to go on.
Note: I was told there is 100% CPU bug D3D but that has cropped up since.
Again, I am going with the time period for bug 934. These other bugs shouldn't
have any relation, so they should be filed under new number. Having bug 934
remain open will have people still coming here, so lets close it so the old bug
comments don't get them confused.

Latest demo version 4.20t of Circad98 installs OK on Wine-20050830, though Wine
complains about an invalid bitmap.
If not run in a Desktop window, it crashes in the window procedure when you move
the mouse.
Run in a Desktop window, it works well, except for a similar crash when you open
the Image Viewer.
DirectDraw problem seems to be fixed. Feel free to open new bug(s) for other
problems.

I have encountered this bug running the ExpressSCH.exe and ExpressPCB.exe
programs that can be downloaded as freeware from http://www.ExpressPCB.com. I
was running the 20050524 version in a Fedora 4 system. The bug is 100%
reproducible, even when attempting to run with native DLL's. Native DLL's give a
different sequence of error messages, but it seems to be approximately the same
problem.

Just Discovered the program will run right after it is installed but won't once
you exit it. If I use rpm -e wine, delete the /home/username/.wine folder,
reinstall wine and the Aire Freshener it will run until I exit.

BTW & FWIW: HTTP 1.0 and 1.1 say something like:
"If the 30x status code is received in response to a request using
the POST method, the user agent must not automatically redirect the
request unless it can be confirmed by the user, since this might
change the conditions under which the request was issued."
However, MS's wininet does silently redirect POSTs if
INTERNET_FLAG_NO_AUTO_REDIRECT isn't set so this behavior would be up to the
caller of wininet.
