Sheer disappointment -- current cvs checked-out wine doesn't even start Notes itself. And what's worse, even
wine 20041129 , which worked with Notes before, didn't start Notes for me today...
Now, this is a puzzler, as neither linux (slackware 10) nor freebsd installation, weren't re-installed or radically
changed since last time Notes worked there (about month)...
I guess we have to wait for the current to support Notes again, have we?

As of 20050725 it's gotten worse.
Now, when the installer is first started, these two errors show over and over
(39 times each, to be exact):
err:ole:marshal_object object doesn't expose interface
{be6115a1-7de5-48dc-ad2a-25060e00fce2}, failing with error 0x80004002
err:ole:ClientIdentity_QueryMultipleInterfaces IRemUnknown_RemQueryInterface
failed with error 0x80004002
After clicking next, the license agreement has no text. Accepting it works fine,
as does choosing an install location. It says, however, that there's not enough
space for a full installation. When a Recommended installation is chosen, this
error message pops up (in a dialog, not the terminal):
Unhandled Exception
-------------------

Setup will now terminate.
On clicking okay, these errors show in the terminal:

(once)
I assume this is from the "bunch of OLE fixes for InstallShield installers"
mentioned on the front page, and this program just got the bad end of it.
Sorry if none of this helps, but no one's told me anything better to give, and I
figure you need at least some information to fix it ;-)

20050725 CVS version exhibits graphical glitches. The field which holds the
current location path + "back" button does not appear properly.
I am attaching two small screenshots, one of them showing the problem, the other
(from 7-Zip official page) showing the correct behaviour.
The console shows the following messages while running the application :
$ wine 7zFM.exe
err:rebar:REBAR_AdjustBands Phase 1 failed, x=1000, maxx=-4, start=1, end=1
This bug makes navigation in the 7-zip file manager unusable as without the path
field, one cannot go back out of a directory (the "back" button is next to the
path field).

Sorry again, maybe not relevant but I meant iocharset, not codepage, and
iso-8859-1 works for me because I speak spanish.
This /etc/fstab entry works correctly both for linux and wine 20031212 with
kernel 2.6:
/dev/hda9 /mnt/gordo vfat
iocharset=iso8859-1,utf8,auto,users,shortname=mixed,umask=0,uid=502 0 0
Later Wine versions like 20040408 just hang by trying to access a disk.

I tried to make the SC miniserver to run on a Linux (slackware 10.1, with kernel
2.6.12.2) using wine, but it seems to fails on 2 accounts.
NOTE: The SC (single click) Miniserver runs the same way as a regular VNC
server, but always connects to the same address (very usefull for remote support).
I ran the sc executable on windows, wich created a temporary directory with all
files. I zipped this directory and used it on linux.
The first time I executed “wine winvnc.exe” it complained about the missing dll:
err:module:import_dll Library MSVCP60.dll (which is needed by
L"C:\\windows\\temp\\7zS2e2.tmp\\winvnc.exe") not found
I downloaded this dll from a WinXP machine and it was able to start. I could
check on the Viewr machine the question being asked and after accepting nothing
shows (on either sides). It stated on the viewer machine the Windows 98 SE was
in use.
I changed the parameters of wine to force the use of Windows XP, and after
running it it asked on the viewer like the previous time but now it identified
as Windows XP SP2. After accepting on the viewer, on the server side it exited
with the errors:

Nope, that should be WINEDEBUG=+relay (or better +relay,+tid) which will give
you a rather big log so try to paste the lines before the exception is thrown...
This may also be a copy-protection issue so you could try a no-cd crack if it
exists.
Since 0xc0428004 is kernelspace on both Win9x and WinNT I have no idea what is
causing this... is the address always the same or does it differ between runs?

This bug is very important for us who have used accented characters in file names.
Wine versions since about 2004 (I can't really tell) freeze if an attempt is
made to read a vfat partition mounted with the UTF8 option, or a symbolic link
to such partition, displaying some message on the console about windows 95
filenames.
Older versions of wine can read utf8 mounted vfat directories only if they
contain only MS-DOS 8.3 complying names.
With such older versions and vfat in kernel 2.6 it is possible to read with the
correct long names both in Wine and Linux if the /etc/fstab entry for the
partition has both "codepage=iso8859-1" and "utf8" options.

Thanks for taking the time to look into this. Basically, problems start the
very moment I "left-click" within a list view of a windows explorer-like menu
(left pane is tree, and the right pane is the list). I'm searching through the
code to find references of WM_LBUTTONDOWN , but they are everywhere! So, it may
take awhile for me to figure out where things changed...
If anybody else has any ideas, please chip in. Somebody on the wine-devel alis
*must* have been trying to make some changes with WM_LBUTTONDOWN, so I was
hoping this bug would ring a bell for them.

Hi.
I've been working with wine and an aplication (Velazquez Visual) that did run
quite well under 20050628 (it has only minor glitches). It's a kind of a RAD for
database aplications. It has the ability to make a kind of menus that are like
HTML pages. It has a couple of options, when the mouse cursors is over one of
this options it changes to a hand. But now it just dissapears (or better turns
invisible). If you continue to move the mouse until it is not over the option it
appears again.
It's not a very important problem, but as it worked flawlessly on 20050628, I
report it here, as I fear that it can be some regression wich can cause worse
problems.
Javier.

The help to get it fully running would be very aprecated, i can't just run VM
software and windoze inside just for running that application.. :-)

Hmm, maybe earlier: I can now save files with 20050628 too (installed with CVS
wine of 2005-07-20), the time I did a complete reinstall.
Anyway, it now works :-)

Resolving INVALID - unless Wine kills your X server (which I doubt) this is not
a bug in Wine.
Try using the nv driver and file a bug report at the XFree/Xorg people if the
bug persists (the proprietary driver is officially unsupported by nvidia AFAIK).

Hi,
what does "the moment I drag" mean?
Does it happen the very moment you left-click on it (WM_LBUTTONDOWN) or the very
moment you start *moving* the clicked file (~ group)?
Is it a treeview or a listview?
(since you say "file explorer" which I assume is the Windows Explorer, it's
ambiguous, since its left pane is a treeview whereas its right pane often is a
listview)
Maybe look for WM_LBUTTONDOWN/WM_LBUTTONUP changes in the diff between releases.
(the single-file re-select in Windows Explorer happens on mouse button
*release*, not *click*, which might be what is broken somewhere in Wine, since
it shouldn't deselect those three files on a WM_LBUTTONDOWN already)

hi, i wonder if this bug really makes a difference for using your program; a
quick lookup on msdn says wFlags == 0x00001000 == "DDF_HALFTONE: Always
dithers the DIB to a standard palette regardless of the palette of the DIB. If
your application uses the DrawDibBegin function, set this value in DrawDibBegin
rather than in DrawDibDraw." So i would guess you would only see a slightly
change in colours if this would be implemented.
If your only goal is to get rid of the errormessages, you could always try to use
native msvfw32.dll: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="msvfw32=n" wine program.exe and see if it
really makes a difference (of course you have to put a native msvfw32.dll in
~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system)

I'm having an issue in Adobe ImageReady where
the splash screen and buttons are all black.
The only "apparent" way to fix this is to change your
XF86Config file so the screen depth is 16 and not 24.
Apps like Photoshop 7 run fine at 16bit.
Reading tonight through some of the old CXOffice
threads, I noticed some people were having issues
running apps likes Illustrator because the panel
buttons would be black. I also saw this:

Summary: Mouse: multi-file "selection" & drag behavior broken
Product: Wine
Version: 20050628
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: wine-gui
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: masochisthalo(a)yahoo.com
Trying out both June's and May's release of Wine, I
noticed that there is some wierd behavior when
selecting multiple files and dragging within an
application. It basically makes the ability to select
and drag files unusable.
On (at least), these last two releases, I select
multiple-files in an application "explorer-like"
menu, and the moment I try to drag, the
multi-select turns into a one-file select.
Furthermore, the app enters into a state where it
thinks I am holding the mouse down dragging the one
file around. Minimizing and maximizng the app doesn't
work either; in previous versions, when I couldn't
drag a file from one window to the other, I'd
minimize/ maximize the app (which would "reset"
things), and I could drag files once again.
In my case, I am using AbsoluteFTP; as you guessed,
its an FTP app. If you can imagine, within it, there
are two windows that look like the file Explorer on
Windows. On the left, is the local machine and the
right is the box you've FTPed into. On wine-20041201,
I can hold down shift and select >2 files on the
remote box. Then using my mouse, drag them to my
localbox. So, there are no problems here.
Also, on my CodeWright application, I can no longer
highlight text by dragging the mouse across code.
Any ideas? I'm sure it will ring a bell for someone
who may have been working towards improving the mouse
dragging capabilities.
Thanks!
Hiji

Just tested with bochs with 95 installed. Same error as wine before installing a
printer. After a printer installed in 95 no errors. On my wine install I have
cups working and my other apps under wine show the two printers that are local
under wine.
The error is that quick reports is not finding a printer under wine even with
some available. My guess quick reports may be using the win 3.1 printer escapes
API's instead of the get device context methods.
