Startforce uses a dll called protect.dll the dll loads and performs some copy protection tests it then installs a driver that takes over IDE CDRom support on Windows. Their are currently only two ways to defeat the copy protection on windows, 1: modify the executable so that it no longer requires copy protection. 2: disable all cdrom drives and use a mini-iso-image for the game. But that doesnt concern me. Mouse input in half life 2 seems to be broken ingame, on the menus it is fine. Game only seems to get input once every second or so. Can you try to find out when exactly it brakes? I mean: Test first 20050628 and then you need to compile Wine from CVS for the days inbetween, to find out on which day which patch causes the regression.
