eMule Plus v1.1f crashes with the following error from time to time...
err:clipping:CLIPPING_UpdateGCRegion hVisRgn is zero. Please report this.
It usually does this when the file list (download list) is selected.
It has done this several times for me, but when I've been away so it doesn't
require a user interaction to make it crash either.

You'll notice from the config file that I had "Managed" = "Y". However, this
problem is *partly* resolved in current CVS, in that my "Beertender" game is now
working again.
Beertender 2 is still not working, possibly because the window manager is
refusing to "manage" it for some reason. Beertender 2 is downloadable from:

I've encountered that bug too.
The only way I found to restore the original lef and right mouse buttons was
to open regedit and change the value of
HKEY_USERS/my_user_name/Wine/ControlPanel/Mouse/SwapMouseButtons from 1 back
to 0...
But the question is : why does Winword comes to put that dumb key in the
registry !
I'm using Wine 20050524 but have also seen the bug on other versions.

1.) Winamp won't play video from the library of internet tv channels.
2.) once you attempt to play streaming channel (Regardless if it's a radio or tv

regardless as to whether you removed that initial channel from the playlist or
not until you exit and restart winamp through wine.
NOTE: The internet tv channels will connect, (ie..buffer then present a bit

ReportedBy: burnus(a)gmx.de
One can enter filenames in the file dialog. If one enters in the save dialog
"foo\"
and the directory foo does not exist then
- Wine thinks that it can use "foo\" as file name & closes the dialog windo
- Windows does show a message box:
"The folder 'C:\WINDOWS\foo\' is not available. It is either on a non-available
device, protected by a password, or the filename contains a / or \."
Expected: Do the same as Windows does. Usually it's only a user's typo (like me,
when I forgot a ..\ in '..\..\RuO\').
For the open Dialog, Windows does the same, Wine tries to open it as a file and
says "File not found". The Windows version is maybe a bit more helpful.
(Actually Windows doesn't give the file not found message, it simply stays in
the dialog.)

> Currently, ...
That is completely incomprehensible. It should be:
Currently, if one types a directory name into the "Filename:" field and hits
return, the directory is correctly changed and the "Filename:" field contains
still the typed-in directory name.
In Windows (XP) the directory name is selected (blue background), in Wine not.
In both cases the "Filename:" field has the focus.
Why the Windows way is better, see initial description.

Summary: Open/Save file dialog: <folder name>[return] should

Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: trivial
Priority: P2
Component: wine-gui
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: burnus(a)gmx.de
Currently, if you time in the file-name filed a directory name and hit return,
you go into that directory (which is ok). In Windows (XP) the entered directory
name is now selected, in Wine not.
Expected: Select the directory name
Reasoning: The user usually does not want to re-use the typed name but type
either a new (sub)directory or the actual file name. This is made easier if the
directory name is selected since pressing any key overwrites the previously
entered name.

The installer from the website above fails to create the installation directory,
and can thus not proceed. It pops up a messagebox: the folder can not be found.
I did a regression test and the patch that causes the regression is:
http://www.winehq.org/hypermail/wine-cvs/2005/08/0313.html
Using native comctl32 makes the installer proceed.
Until this is fixed i'll file it here as a reminder in the bug db.

WaitCommEvent is implemented now and should no longer be an issue. There is still
a problem with characters hanging around in the input buffer after a close and
open, but that should affect few programs.

Confirmed. This is actually a bug in redraw - invalidating the listview by any
means (like scrolling down & up) will also show the bug.
I sent a patch to fix this a few months ago:
http://www.winehq.org/hypermail/wine-patches/2005/05/0486.html
However, it wasn't applied ... after some investigation I found more and more
bugs in the code resulting in me giving up at some point. If someone wants to
fix this I suggest to also take a look at the bg-color bugs exposed by
"SuperGrid" (available on Code Project @
http://www.codeproject.com/listctrl/supergrid.asp) which my patch doesn't fix -
it had something to do with the wrong bg-color set when a callback is called...
and if you further investigate this you'll relialize that our "fill blue"
routine which causes the original bug should not just fill the inner rectangle
(not sure about the "just" here - do we sometimes do a blue-on-blue fill there?)
but draw a opaque rect for the selection on an already-filled-with-blue outer
rectangle... but I'm not sure where this filing should be done... Yea, that's
where I gave up.

With M$ Windows it is very usefull to switch to a browser or instant messenger
with ALT+TAB while playing a game in fullscreen and to switch back to the game
after that break.
With many window managers you can switch back to a console with ALT+TAB but the
screen resolution is not restored. If a game uses the resolution 640x480 and you
switch back to the desktop, the resolution is still 640x480 and too low for
working. Wine should restore the old resolution the desktop had before starting
the game (e.g. 1280x1024) and restore the game resolution when switching back to
the game.

Many games require pressing mouse keys while key "ALT" is pressed. But if you
press ALT + right mouse button many window managers catch that event and move
the window with alt + mouse button. So wine should catch all key events and
should only hand over events that M$ windows gets too - like ALT+TAB to switch
back to the console.

Alexander
