With 20040716 the behavior has changed slightly. Currently it goes like this:
- start Wad Author, the "full screen" window appears
- move the window or change to another desktop
- the window disappears and is replaced by the splash screen
- the program works nicely and the "full screen" window does not reappear
However I was able to make the window appear once during the actual program
execution, but couldn't find a way to reproduce this.

I originated the bug report. For some reason, bugzilla does not
recognize my login information anymore.
I have tested the 20040813 release, and it no longer has the reported
problem. The bug report should be closed as FIXED.
Thanks to everyone.

Just to let you know, when assigning a bug to yourself, could you put wine-bugs
in the CC list? That allows the additional comments to propagate to, for
example, gmane.

Hmmm... I guess I am a bit puzzled since the code in Wine for this message, in
dlls/richedit/richedit.c looks like:
case EM_FINDTEXTEX:
TRACE_EDIT_MSG32("EM_FINDTEXTEX Ignored");
return 0;
So, I guess I am surprised your program works at all with Wine's richedit. Why
not go ahead and write the function and submit it to Wine?

This is happening on Debian also (I confirmed the output resulting with
WINEDEBUG=all). See http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=250913 for
the corresponding Debian bug. As the Debian reporter said, this happens even if
you just say '--version'; you don't need to try running a specific app.

t = ft.dwHighDateTime;
t <<= 32;
t += (UINT)ft.dwLowDateTime;
if (!_GetTimezoneBias(&tzinfo, &lpLocalTime, &lBias))

you pass LocalTime to _GetTimeZoneBias, instead of systemtime.
Yes, we can't figure if it is daylight or standard time in one hour between
daylight->standard change 02:00-03:00, its ok. In original version
we had such error in Bias+DaylightBias interval (up to 24 hours, 4 hours for
moscow - for example),
so I reduced error period to DaylightBias (1 hour). Now it doesn't depend on time
zone.
my version:
LONGLONG t2;
SYSTEMTIME st;
t2 = t + (LONGLONG)tzinfo.Bias * 600000000;
if (!FileTimeToSystemTime((FILETIME*)&t2, &st))

Hi Philippe. Your report in some degree duplicates bug #2082 [1]. To be clear
your should post all the command-line for wine used to run the Diablo and all
the output the system produces during this run. Better attach them as a text
file so it doesn't get wrapped.
Another interesting info to see would be a versions of your linux kernel, X
server and sound system of your box. Maybe it would be nice also to provide the
name of video module used by your X server. One in my case was "nvidia"
v1.0.6106 (comes from nvidia installer).
And yes, I am going to update my report too. ;-)

goes black. Others have reported they could hear sound in the bg. I don't. But
the game does not freeze. Pressing ESC exits back to the desktop.

calling CRichEditCtrl::FindText() on an empty control returns 0 when it should
return -1.
the following code, which works okay in windows, goes into an infinite loop
under wine.
FINDTEXTEX fte = { { 0, GetTextLength() - 1 }, "searchstring", {0, 0} };
long lFind = FindText(FR_WHOLEWORD, &fte);
while (lFind != -1)

i've added some logic in my code to handle empty contents so this is not an
immediate problem. also verified that after the change it ran fine.

Then you hit a 2nd problem which is a simple wine null pointer exception - See
attached patch
Then it starts - I havent tried anything else, but it did hang on exit (for
me), but you can raise other bugs for any other issue :-)

Component: wine-kernel

I'm using mIRC 6.16, but this error occurs in every versions since 6.03, i think.
If I'm opening the "Script Editor" (alt +R), and write a script (or only load
one and after I edit it), I can't leave blank lines:
when i close the dialog, or only change the tabs, the blank lines will be filled
with a random script line, beginning with a string (I cant Paste it, it gives
here an 'u' string).
for example, if i write this script:
alias helloworld {
echo -s Hello World!!!
}
the result will be this:
alias helloworld {
echo -s Hello World!
uecho -s Hello World!
}
and the mIRC want to execute the 'uecho' command too, but it can be dangerous,
if an 'uecho' command is writed too.

Shadow Keeper is a saved game editor for Baldur's Gate 2. Both executable and

http://www.mud-master.com/shadowkeeper/
Shadow Keeper 2.1.4 starts up OK, but selecting File->Open Saved Game or
clicking the open icon causes a "page fault on read access".
I'll attach the backtrace. I wasn't able to get a useful relay trace--with
relay active, the program didn't seem to get to its initial disk scan (at least
not before the trace file became prohibitively large).

I have tested it out on a couple of files (both simple and complex) and all

I haven't actually used wine - but used some of the sourcecode for wine to
write my own functions for parsing existing win32 tlb's (MSFT)
If I rely on the hash-value generated by ctl2_hash_guid in typelib2.c,
I get a mismatch with the values in the typelib I examine.
If however I alter the return-statemet from
return (hash & 0xf) | ((hash & 0x10) & (0 - !!(hash & 0xe0)));
to
return (hash & 0xf) | (hash & 0x10);
the generated hash-values seems to be correct. I didn't quite figure out what
the intention of the part I deleted was anyway...

Using Wine 20040716 I was able to install InstMsiA.exe for MSI support for
loading a windows program (UD_Agent)to wine/Linux. I was able to load the
program (UD_Agent)and make it mostly work. I upgraded, Well I thought, to
wine 20040813 and low and behold I could not install the InstMsiA.exe for msi
support with wine. InstMsiA.exe is the microsoft version for windows 98. I
reverted back to wine 20040716 and was able to install msi support again.
NOTE: I tried installing the windows program (UD_Agent)without InstMsiA.exe
loaded (wine alone) and was unable to do so, the error reported that it did
not seem msi support was available for loading this program.

The example Visual Basic code below should produce "TEST 12.5", but instead it
outputs "TEST 12.__" where the underscores are the little squares you get when a
character is missing from the character set. Since I can in fact see the 1 and
the 2 in 12, I'm assuming that I should also see the 2 just after the decimal
point, but I just see the square.
Private Sub Form_Load
MsgBox ("TEST " & Format$(12.26, "0.00"))
End Sub
In the (larger) application that I had been testing when I ran across this, I
noticed that the number of squares seems a bit random: changing from call to call.
I took a peek at the source code, and settled on oleaut32/varformat.c as a
likely place, but I'm just not sure that's the right place.

Hello,
I am just starting with wine, so please don't rule out the possibility of a
configuration problem. I am running on a mandrake-like system. I downloaded
the most recent wine Mandrake RPM and installed that. I also downloaded and
installed winecfg (Wine configuration package from sourceforge) which seems to
setup my config file and drive mappings (I only changed my font paths).
I then run Adobe Acrobat (or any other program with a scroll bar). Everything
starts up fine, except that as soon as I try to scroll up or down, Acrobat
hangs and I get the following error:

This is with which WINE version? Using 2004-08-13 (the latest), I can see some
improvement: The main window comes up and looks quite ok. Unfortunally, most
things don't work, e.g. the main word list is empty and the menu has some
drawing problems: http://www.physik.fu-berlin.de/~tburnus/wine/cald2.png

While CALD still doesn't work, using WINE CVS as of today, it shows at least the
main window and is partially (very limited) usable.
I don't know whether the problem is fixed or some other functionally is broken
(starting another taskbar-swollowed program), but at least it is an improvement.
Maybe this bug should be CLOSED.

------- Additional Comments From frix(a)engineer.com 2004-17-08 11:32 -------
The problem seems to be GLX related. After upgrading from xfree86 version 4.3
to X.org 6.7 the DRI (Direct Render Interface) didn't allow my user
applications (wine, etc) to gain direct access to the excelleration hardware,
but only to applications initiated by user 'root'.
This was evident by launching 'glxgears' and witnessing the error message:
libGL error: open DRM failed (Operation not permitted)
The problem, for wine and glxgears, went away after adding these entries to
my /etc/X11/xorg.conf and restarting X:
Section "DRI"
Mode 0666
EndSection
More can be read about DRI options at:

Created 2 new attachments, 674 and 675
Both are debugging output from Wine, only winsock. 674 is from Wine 20040716,
675 is from cedega 4.0.1, which works (just for comparison)
In both, just logged in, send a message to a friend, and logged out.
In Wine, this message is never sent.
