The Game "Grand Touring" crashes after a selection menu for a videocard and
displaying for a few seconds the intro screen, without any recognizable error
message from wine.
The application crashes displaying a MessageBox showing a rather cryptic "Stuff
It" error message. Yet, only a single error regarding a missing implementation
of directplay is shown on the debug output, and disappears by using "sh
winetricks direct play" (the game keeps crashing, of course).
I've attached the output of running the application with the
"WINEDEBUG=+seh,+relay" debug options.

Prefix: 64bit
Version: Wine 2.12 [Also occurs on Wine-staging 2.11]
OS: Arch Linux
No overrides in prefix.
Wine is not the cause of the error.
I started Steam on my Wine-staging 2.11 two days ago, it was fine.
Started Steam today, and it failed following an update to Steam.
Updated Wine to 2.12 (non-staging), and the same error occurs.
In sum, Steam update broke Steam in wine.

If propertystore_SetValue or propertystore_Commit are called, they return
"E_NOTIMPL", this implie an error.
Sample:
005b:fixme:shell:propertystore_SetValue (0x1016f9e0)->(0x1017a550 0x101764a0):
stub
005b:trace:shell:IShellLinkW_fnQueryInterface

005b:err:shell:IShellLinkW_fnQueryInterface -- Interface: E_NOINTERFACE
If both return "S_OK", no ISupportErrorInfo is called and everything is ok.

League of Legends ran at about 80-150 fps with wine-staging 2.4, with 2.6 and
2.7 it runs at ~20 fps and since 2.8 the game is just a slideshow (4-5 fps,
though the in-game fps counter still claims 15-20 fps). These figures are with
CSMT enabled.
It is worth noting that the first few seconds of the game run at decent frame
rates and more importantly, that alt+tabbing out of the game and back
temporarily boosts the frame rate back to 80 fps. It then quickly falls back to
5-20 fps over the next ~5 seconds. This makes it seem like some resources are
not being properly released or something similar.
I also tested with vanilla wine 2.8 and the behavior is very similar, so it's
not a staging-only problem.
The graphics card is a RX 470 with the RadeonSI driver.

When I get in the game the screen is filled with solid grey color, only the HUD

Moreover the screen is flickering so badly that it's unbearable to look at.
Enabling StrictDrawOrdering helps get rid of the grey overlay, but the
flickering still remains.
Neither the grey overlay nor the heavy flickering is present with the CSMT

I am running wine-1.1.34 on Ubuntu-9.10-x64 on my Dell Inspiron 1420 laptop
which has a Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.40GHz processor. I have
installed Euler Math Toolbox (v8.7 at http://eumat.sourceforge.net/index.html)
and the installation went flawlessly. Euler launches and runs (performs
computations) with only the following errors which are generally invisible to
the user (no problem running Euler):
$ wine euler
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x32f778,0x00000000), stub!
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x32f778,0x00000000), stub!
However, once the Euler user attempts to have Euler make a computation with
maxima.exe (included with Euler), maxima.exe fails to start ('Could not start
Maxima!' message in the user window after long delay) and the following error
occurs:
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x4eb0ac "?" wait timed out in
thread 001c, blocked by 001d, retrying (60 sec)
Rene Grothmann (Euler developer) indicates he can run this current version of
Euler on Linux/Wine without any issues. I have tried running Euler/maxima.exe
on several different versions of Wine with the same results (v1.0.1, 1.1.32).
Please let me know what I can do to correct this, or if there is any more
information I can send to you.

wined3d: Upload directly from the source surface in wined3d_surface_blt(),
if possible.
This avoids either loading sysmem surfaces into video memory (wasting GPU
memory) and then doing a blit on the GPU, or downloading GPU surfaces to
sysmem, doing a blit on the CPU, and likely uploading it again. This mostly
matters for ddraw and d3d8 applications, d3d9 already has to go through
wined3d_device_update_surface() to transfer data from sysmem surfaces to
GPU

This bug affects the "HD Edition" of HoMM III, released by Ubisoft in 2015. No
demo version has been released.
The intro videos play properly albeit a bit choppy.
I face the first problems in the main menu: the 'flame' animation is glitchy as
it comes to a complete halt for a couple of seconds then it renders at double
speed. The same jerky animation can be observed when I open the high score
table or the credits.
The bottom-most option in the menu <Quit> doesn't work at all, the game simply
ignores when I click on it.
Still I can start a scenario from the main menu but as soon as the map is
loaded the game doesn't respond to mouse or keyboard events any more, unit
animations are frozen (music keeps on playing though).
Workaround: enable StrictDrawOrdering in the registry -> 'winetricks
strictdrawordering=enabled'
Also, the problem doesn't exist when using the CSMT patchset from wine-staging.

This rather ancient game got a D3D patch from Sega a few months after release,
adding support for basic accelerated capabilities, like Bilinear Filtering,
Perspective Correction and so on. Unfortunately it seems that Wine D3D support
is not detected by this application, which starts in software mode and won't
even show the relevant graphic option.
The D3D accelerated features have been tested as working when using the
original HW and VMWare Fusion 8.
I've uploaded a log of the game running with and without the WINEDEBUG=+relay
parameter.

I've tried both verision 1.1.0 and 1.9.0, but both crashes at startup.
Even though I'm using PlayOnLinux, I'm running the Wine-version that's in the

4. Go to ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/ArcGIS/Desktop10.6/bin and run `winedbg

should be:
gcc -m64 -o make_xftmpl make_xftmpl.o ../libs/port/libwine_port.a
-fsanitize=address
I can work around this in part with:
$ find . -name Makefile|xargs perl -pi -e 's/^(CC = gcc -m64)$/\1
-fsanitize=address/'
... but that's probably not the right way to do this, and it only works for
tools/ and not dlls/ anyway. My Makefile-fu is not strong; I'm sure I'm missing
something about how the configuration system works, but I'm equally sure that
this is something worth reporting even if I'm not entirely certain what's going
on.

Summary: Office 2007 right click context menu disappears when

Product: Wine
Version: 3.6
Hardware: x86

I am using Wine 3.6 on Ubuntu 18.04 for Office 2007.
When I right click somewhere, to open the context menu, that works, but it
instantly disappears when I am clicking on it. Furthermore, it does not apply
the changes behind the clicked button.
A typical use-case is the following:
1. Open Word 2007.
2. Write a word.
3. Right click it, and then use the button in this menu to align it to the
middle.
Result: Nothing will change.

Currently the AcquireCredentialsHandle functions are implemented inside
secur32, and sspicli forwards them to secur32.
However, when using native secur32, that results in a stack-overflow. Most
likely on windows the functions are implemented in sspicli and secur32 forwards
them.
Most likely affects other functions, too.
Application I tested it with (needs winXP):

WNetGetUniversalName() is a stub function and it returns ERROR_NO_NETWORK
(0x000004c6).
I believe it should instead return ERROR_NOT_CONNECTED, which would mean that
Wine treats the path argument as a _local_ path.

The AppDB currently has a link whereby admins can email all maintainers, which
is useful for announcements, but not discussion. Discussion of AppDB issues
sometimes takes place on wine-devel, but few maintainers subscribe to that
mailing list, and the issues are generally not of interest to developers.
This is a feature request to add a mailing list for AppDB admins and
maintainers, as discussed at WineConf2017. Posting to the list should be
limited to those groups, but the posts should be archived on winehq.org and
visible to anyone. Subscribing to the list should be automatic based on
admin/maintainer status, so if mailman is used to maintain the list, there
would need to be a daily cron job to update it.

Summary: Fedora Packaging: Incorrect URL in gpgkey field in
winehq.repo
Product: Packaging
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86-64
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2

Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org

This bug applies to all winehq.repo files hosted by WineHQ for Fedora
packaging.
As an example, please take a look at the following winehq.repo file for Fedora
26: https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/fedora/26/winehq.repo
Here are its contents:
[WineHQ]
name=WineHQ packages (Fedora 26)
type=rpm-md
baseurl=https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/fedora/26
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=https://repos.wine-staging.com/wine/Release.key
enabled=1
As you will notice, the gpgkey= field points to the following URL:
https://repos.wine-staging.com/wine/Release.key
This prevents the installation of packages, as this URL redirects to the WineHQ
Bugzilla.
The correct URL appears to be:
https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/Release.key
I verified that using this URL works.
Would it be possible to update the winehq.repo files for the Fedora package
releases so that they point to the correct URL in the gpgkey field?
Thank you.

Ubuntu 17.10 Artful Aardvark is currently in its final beta phase, before its
release on 2017-10-19. It would be helpful to provide packages for this
version, especially before the release date. At
https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/dists/ I don't see a folder for
artful.

Very verbose output.
The net functionality of "Offworld Trading Company" (Steam version) does not
work.
I ran Steam with the following command:
WINEDEBUG=err+all,warn+all,fixme+all wine Steam.exe -no-cef-sandbox
The net service is called Tachyon. I looked for "tachyon" in the output and it
somehow fails to load the dll (but file exists).

Summary: Wine: DLL Injection on suspended process provides NULL
arg for static library's DLLMain's lpvReserved value

WINE does not respect the behaviour of the lpvReserved argument in DLLMain.
>From the documentation of DllMain
(https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms682583(v=vs.85).…)
~~~
lpvReserved [in]
If fdwReason is DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH, lpvReserved is NULL for dynamic loads
and non-NULL for static loads.
If fdwReason is DLL_PROCESS_DETACH, lpvReserved is NULL if FreeLibrary has
been called or the DLL load failed and non-NULL if the process is terminating.
~~~~
WINE does NOT respect this behaviour.
# EXAMPLE
Given the following:
A.exe, B.dll, C.dll
C.dll is statically linked from both A.exe and B.dll.
A.exe's process is started and suspended.
B.dll is injected into the A.exe process.
At some point the DllMain of C.dll is called. In WINE, the lpvReserved argument
is NULL, even though C.dll is statically loaded. In Windows 7, 8, and 10, the
lpvReserved argument is non-null.
# REAL WORLD IMPACT
https://github.com/bwapi/bwapi/issues/598https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40259
Blizzard Entertainment's Storm.dll library uses the lpvReserved to invoke a
different behaviour in its DllMain (why, I have no idea). Their video game
Starcraft: Broodwar is statically linked to this library. The third-party hack
DLL called BWAPI.dll is also statically linked to Storm.dll. The Hack launcher
called ChaosLauncher starts and suspends the Starcraft process and injects
various hacks (one being BWAPI). The error in the tracking issue above is
surfaced.
The issue surfaced because Storm performs some alternative initialization logic
that corrupts its ability to function correctly later. In order to temporarily
work around the issue I have forcefully undone the logic made in the other DLL
to cause it to malfunction.
In this case the executable and statically linked library are owned by a
company and their source codes are not available. It should be possible to
reproduce the issue in a more trivial example.

Yep, still occurs in Ubuntu 18.04 using either wine-stable or wine-development.

The wine-staging patchsets of at least fsutil-Stub_Program and
shell32-ACE_Viewer introduce variadic functions that cause ARM builds to fail.
Either the patchsets need to be refined or the upstream commit needs to be
reverted.

Summary: Add StartupWMClass also to bundled .desktop files such
as wine-notepad.desktop
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: programs
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: hein(a)kde.org

Since the resolution of bug 32699, wine adds StartupWMClass=foo.exe to the
.desktop files it generates, matching the name/instance string of the WM_CLASS
it sets on wine windows. This has massively improved the integration of Wine
clients with desktop environments and made the users of KDE Plasma (and likely
Gnome Shell, which works the same way) much happier.
However, we've recently noticed that wine .desktop files installed in /usr and
presumably pre-generated/bundled haven't been updated in the same way. For
example, `wine-notepad.desktop` doesn't contain StartupWMClass=notepad.exe, so
the integration doesn't work there.
Fixing this up would allow the "Pin" and "Start New Instance" actions and even
listings of recently open files to work in the context menu of tasks like
Notepad in KDE Plasma, for example.

Summary: winex11.drv does not set NET_WM_STATE_FULLSCREEN if
the display mode was changed
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.35
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: winex11.drv
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: stefan(a)codeweavers.com
Distribution: ---
Winex11.drv only sets NET_WM_STATE_FULLSCREEN on a fullscreen game window if
the game uses the monitor resolution that was set when winex11.drv was loaded.
The cause of this is that is_window_rect_fullscreen compares the window
rectangle against the monitor size reported by Xinerama when winex11.drv was
loaded.
This appears to trigger bugs inside Metacity clones and Compiz when creating a
window at a lower resolution. It also breaks the fix that was proposed by a
Marco developer to fix the bug that currently prevents fullscreen windows from
being iconified.
