Hi there. For a while now, through wine-overwatch (which has been closed and
presumably merged as of wine-staging 2.17) there have been reports of people
running Overwatch, albeit with graphical glitches.
I just built wine-staging 2.18 and Overwatch unable to start. The now closed
wine-overwatch issues tracker on github mentioned similar experiences on Intel
graphics. You might be able to find a cached result of the old page on Google,
though they didn't figure out a solution.
There are a lot of fixmes so I'll just attach everything it outputs with
WINEDEBUG= wine Overwatch.exe

Hello,
The Magic School Bus Explores the Human Body suffers from many problems under
wine.
The Magic School Bus Explores the Human Body is a 16-bit windows game.
My test was done on a clean 32-bit prefix, running as Windows 95, on ArchLinux
x86-64.
The installer doesn't work, so I installed it on a Windows virtual machine and
copied the installed files on the drive_c/ directory of the prefix.
The game starts, and plays the sound of the intro company logo, while showing a
black screen.
After that, it crashes.
I have joined a log with may WINEDEBUG flags enabled.

Since lastest versions of Wine in Linux (seen in Wine v1.6.2 with PureBasic
32bits), lauching the online help of PureBasic with "F1" crashes the IDE.
It is a regression since it does not happens with older versions of Wine like
1.4.1.
To reproduce, you just have to download the demo version of PureBasic here :
http://www.purebasic.com/download/PureBasic_Demo.zip
Install it and launch the IDE then press "F1" keyboard key.

Hi,
The use of a custom listview control (e.g. xlistctrl) with user drawn controls
like editable text fields and comboboxes there are various drawing bugs and you
can't properly 'enter' the control. I mean that in case of a combobox you can't
select custom values and in case of a text field it isn't always editable.
An example of a control which shows the problem is at

Fedora 25 + clean wine 3.0 rc5 + winetricks mfc42, Irfan 4.38 x86.
I can see the picture, although it is slightly overlapping (about 50 pixels)
with the textfields and buttons on the right.
Exactly the same version of Irfan on Windows 7, does not expose the same - the
widow seems to be larger, and no overlapping occurs.

If I understand this commit description correctly it _must_ fix the issue for
all use cases yet clearly it doesn't. I know nothing about Win32 API but I've
got a feeling something is going on that's not covered by this change and you,
Wine developers, can easily figure it out by looking at Wine debug log. I can
look at it for years and I won't understand anything.
And as a bug reporter and a person who wants to make Wine better I can only do
what I'm knowledgeable to do like post logs and screenshots ;-)

The issue at hand was that a newly shown windows didn't get a redraw message,
this the image was missing. That also explains why it works when you move the
window or overlay something. I don't really know why it doesn't work on your
system. Maybe the tests I added in this commit can help gather insights?

Yes. I dragged it all around the screen, dragged other windows over it, and
since alt-tabbing was mentioned in an early comment, tested that too. The
picture stayed visible no matter what.
> Also your
> composite window manager might have interfered - I don't use one.
I just tested it in IceWM, with no difference.
I also tested it in 3.0-rc5 in both openSUSE 13.1 and 42.1, because a year ago
I was able to reproduce the problem (comment 45). It was fixed in current Wine
in both older openSUSE versions, too. So on my system, the problem really did
exist a year ago and was fixed some time in the interim. I have no idea why
it's still not working for you.

Debugger backtrace
This game (We Got Explosives! 2) installs just fine, but it crashes on startup.
It is shareware and you can download it from
http://www.jonneweb.net/pelit/dl_start.php?f=993&m=3
The game crashes right after displaying the game's name in yellow on black
background but before showing game menu.
I used wine as packaged in Arch Linux (x86_64) and a new 32-bit wine prefix
with Wine configured to Windows XP. XP is the Windows I last used to play this
game (years ago though).
I will attach command line output shortly, because it looks like I can't put
more than one attachment to one message.

Even when explicitely configured to be shown in the CHM file, Wine 2.19's CHM
viewer only shows the HTML content without the navigation toolbars. This
previously worked as expected as late as Wine 2.14 (see e.g. issue #41985).
To reproduce, download OpenMPT from https://openmpt.org/download and open the
CHM help from the "Help" menu, or try to open the CHM file directly from your
file browser.

Since Wine-3.0-rc1 the game crashes in vanilla Wine too, just after starting

ProtectionID has a "Memory optimiser" tool (button with two black bars, second
button up from the Scan button on the left side). If the "Flush HDD's" option
is checked and the Optimise button is clicked, wineserver crashes.
The problem affects ProtectionID 0.6.8.5 and 0.6.9.0 at least. While this
particular optimization is probably not useful on Wine, it shouldn't be able to
trigger a wineserver crash.

The Setup Assistant is basically a web page loaded in a small window that

Upon loading the Assistant, nothing happens, just a blank screen. Closing the

Installing IE6 throws a bunch of scripting and ActiveX errors before also

Hello,
I've installed “The Magic School Bus Explores the Solar System” on a clean
Win95 32-bit prefix under ArchLinux x86-64.
The game quits after the splash screen appears with a generic error message.
The stdout of wine shows the following:
002f:fixme:mmio:MMIO_InstallIOProc Global procedures not implemented
002f:fixme:mci:MCI_LoadMciDriver Couldn't load driver for type L"AVIVIDEO".
The game installer copies some files to c:\windows\system. The required file
for AVI playback is MCIAVI.DRV.
The problem can be fixed by editing c:\windows\system.ini and replacing the
line
avivideo=mciavi.drv
with
avivideo=mciavi32.dll

Hi, a user reported troubles with this programme on the user forum.
Whith default win7 set, it crashes very early with an errorwindow (that only
says there was a problem)
I attach a debug log hereafter. Tried native gdiplus and comctl32, no change.
Note 1: I checked that on windows 7 the crash is not present
Note 2: When version set to winxp, it suffers from 2 other bugs that are
already reported in bugzilla (but can be workedaround). This bugreport is only
for the win 7 crash.

As the title says, the program doesn't properly refresh after drawing the new
selection, so the old one is still around. Works fine on win7.
According to my tests, it uses LineDDA and SetPixelV to draw these lines.
Also, it's probably only done in WM_MOUSEMOVE. I didn't get a WM_PAINT on
windows while dragging the selection.

The application in this webpage:
http://www.easy68k.com
which is a Motorola 68k microprocessor emulator works flawlessly on Wine except
for Copy & Paste, which does not work.
Please, try it with las version, 1.1.1. Can anyone confirm this?? I have Ubuntu
Hardy 8.04.1 and wine-1.1.1
There's also some strange behaviour: sometimes, when writing code, pressing Tab
key makes the application not only to put a tabulator, but to start a new line.
I think it would be really good to have it working on Linux, since it can be
used at the University.
This should be very easy to test. I have also sent a message to the developer
forum of that application, but I think it has more to do with Wine than with
the application itself.
Thanks!!

With WINE 2.0.1, I did not have this error, and was able to run the

I'm pretty sure that this game is abandonware, so I can probably provide any

Something seems to be creating an out of range date; then when
MONTHCAL_CalculateDayOfWeek() converts to (and then back from)
a different time representation, the conversion fails, leading to
use of garbage.
My guess is that test_hittest() is picking some area to hittest that
is driving the code bonkers. We get lucky, and the test passes anyway.
I don't know if a real hittest could give the wrong answer in some
situations.

The option to emulate a screen in the graphics section of `winecfg` only allows
to specify the size by number input. It'd be helpful to have a GUI component,
e.g. a combo box, with default screen sizes (800x600, 1024x768, etc.) to select
from.

When the prefix is set to emulate a virtual desktop (winecfg->graphics) and the
game is set to Fullscreen mode (the default), the game captures the mouse, but
it is restricted to the bottom-right corner of the game window, rendering most
of the game window inaccessible via the mouse.
Two workarounds:
- Disabled emulate a virtual desktop
- Change game's display mode to something other than Fullscreen

Dear AppDB-Team,
the German tax year is coming to an end and I noticed that there are several
entries for the German tax declaration software tool "t@x". These entries
should be consolidated into one entry.
How to reproduce: AppDB - browse Apps - Search for "t@x"
You should get 4 entries.

I recently tried the GOG version of MotoRacer 2 with wine. The game starts, but
I cannot start a game due to the game not finding the CD.
When running on Windows the game starts and there is background music. The
wav-files is bundled with the game in the game directory. I've also discovered
that the game bundles its own winmm.dll, maybe this is the reason to the game
not finding the cd?

Summary: implicit declaration of function
'CCCryptorCreateWithMode'

Component: bcrypt
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: wine(a)ryandesign.com
Hi, I'm the maintainer of wine in MacPorts.
wine 3.0-rc1 fails to build on Mac OS X 10.6 because you are using the function
CCCryptorCreateWithMode which was introduced in OS X 10.7.
bcrypt_main.c: In function ‘key_set_params’:
bcrypt_main.c:916: warning: implicit declaration of function
‘CCCryptorCreateWithMode’
bcrypt_main.c:916: error: ‘kCCModeCBC’ undeclared (first use in this function)
bcrypt_main.c:916: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
bcrypt_main.c:916: error: for each function it appears in.)
bcrypt_main.c:916: error: ‘ccNoPadding’ undeclared (first use in this function)
Here is a build log of the failure:
https://build.macports.org/builders/ports-10.6_x86_64_legacy-builder/builds…
I don't know how to fix this; I don't know what 10.6-compatible functionality
would be equivalent to CCCryptorCreateWithMode.

I hope I can explain this...
After install:
1. Start game (will start one automatically)
2. Go to Action --> Buy/cash in CDs
The cursor automatically appears in "Buy CDs worth" but on Windows the 0 is
selected so that you can type over it. In Wine it is not selected and you have
to delete it first.
Tried comctl32 but it made no difference.
