Rise of Kingdoms Game crashes when I try launch browser for Game account login.
The game is installed as Unlisted application without issues. Game uses a
launcher to start actual game. As I'm login for 1st time on Win bottle, game
requires I login to an account that is Bind to my game account.
The crash is encountered when Game is trying to open browser. This option of
login works fine on Parallels.
I thought of trying to load a Chrome or Firefox instead of game browser but
unable to install it in the Game bottle. I've screenshots as well.

Hi,
First bug report for Wine-hope I tell you enough. First, thanks for all the
work.
I'm trying to run a demo version of an interesting program called Universal
Mechanism. It's developed by a university and is able to solve and simulate
physical systems quite accurately. It's used by companies and researchers, and
is reasonably affordable:
http://umlab.ru/index.htm
The program works, but large parts of the display vanish except when the mouse
pointer is moved over them. Could be used, but tedious. I'd guess it might be
an interesting program for some users, quite a rare type of program, and
useful. Since it runs OK, except UI I wondered if you might be able to
investigate? I don't know which part of wine might be responsible, but I'd
guess one of the accelerated graphics libraries. I'm using Debian Etch, with
your package: 0.9.44~winehq0~debian~4.0-1
I have an nvidia graphics card, and opengl works fine for other apps, via
nvidia driver, again debian package.
If you need more info please ask,
Thanks in advance,
Arthur

Summary: Window contents not updated properly after being moved
Product: Wine

Platform: PC-x86-64

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: directx-ddraw
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: markk(a)clara.co.uk
Hi,
I believe this bug relates to DirectDraw. (Apologies for my lack of detailed
knowledge about Windows.)
In some cases, moving a window whose contents are updated by DirectX calls
causes trash/garbage to appear when the window is drawn in its new position,
My theory is that WINE remembers the window contents at the moment the user
begins dragging the title bar, and simply copies that to the new window
position. If the program continues to update the DirectX buffer while the user
is moving the window frame, WINE puts the old/stale buffer contents in the
moved window. This happens in both normal and virtual desktop modes.
For applications like video players, this effect may not be very noticeable if
the player redraws the whole window every frame. But for applications which
don't do that, the effect can be quite ugly.
One program I have found which shows this problem is WinUAE. To reproduce:
- Download and install WinUAE from http://www.winuae.net/
- Download an example disk image for testing, e.g.
ftp://ftp.coresystems.de/pub/uae/rsi1.adf.gz
- Start WinUAE and select the rsi1.adf.gz file for emulated drive DF0:, and
start the emulation.
- Once the demo graphics appear, repeatedly move the main WinUAE window and
notice the problem.

Example image 01 2.18 staging comparison
Mounts, eyes, external layers of armor fails to render. (Invisible) bounding
boxes are displayed as opaque black or red boxes at campfires. Unlike 2.18
staging 3.0-rc5 is missing elements rendered in 2.18 such as tree leaves and
other background elements.
I will now illustrate this with the attachments. While I edited these using
GIMP to add text and call outs, no graphic details to images were altered.
1. Image01 (2.18) shows my "pet" flying on the left side of the screen wearing
his orange clothing, the buildings in the background are fogged in blue as they
should be, and the big tree has the pinkish leaves. All of these elements are
normal and have no issue. My character is missing his boots (no feet) and has
no eyes, while all other character have all these items.
2. Image02 (3.0-rc5) shows my "pet" now flying in front of the tree on the
right. The tree is missing leaves and is now bare. The background is now black
and even more elements are missing from my character than before.
3. Image03 (3.0-rc5) shows me mounted on my wolf the same mount as my friend
posed nearby to illustrate the effect is just my character and not other
characters. The application it seems handles the individual character
differently than those of other players and non player AIs.
This game is completely unplayable under 3.0-rc5, due to the fact many areas
show as solid colors (such as black). Making it near next to impossible to
navigate dungeons. Anyone playing in 2.18-staging should remain there for game
play purposes. While debugging continues in 3.0 and beyond.

Wine version: 1.5.18 - latest development version, built with GCC 4.7.2 from
sources.
I am using development version, because it has the built-in fix for Bug 32101.
All the dependencies of Wine and GCC are the latest stable.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First of all, bug 12622 needs to be reopened (or a new version of it to be
created, since
"fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0xRandomMemoryAddress,0x00000000),
stub!" error is not fixed by inserting/mounting a CD!
If I mount/insert a CD, I get this console error anyway, and program closes in
two seconds!
If I don't mount/insert a CD, I get this console error and the program launches
with warning message "?????CD??????????"
(no CD present). But, if I ignore this warning message and don't click OK
(which would result in program termination)
I could navigate in the main program window between menu options (with keyboard
arrows only, since program window
doesn't expand and anything except "File(F)" is not visible. I click "File(F)"
and then left/right keyboard arrows)
However, if I click "Option (O)", "Rotation", "Window Size", "Sound Record
(S)", "Video Record (V)",
or even "cep(C)" (which should show a small message, like "About...") I get a
"Program Error" message.
In the attachment, you could see a .zip archive with all the different
backtraces I got for these options.

When the GPU Acceleration is switched on in the Lightroom configuration,
opening Import module crashes wine. This bug has been sitting there for some
time, spanning from Lightroom releases 7.2, 7.5 and 8.1 (all 64b) and wine

Import module work as expected (albeit slow).

If Windows version is set to Vista or later, the text on the window tabs and
combo box areas is displayed as question marks (except for one with resolution
(for example 1920 x 1080)).
Setting Windows version to XP for example leads to the text being displayed
correctly.
Looking at some 'all' traces, things seem to be going wrong somewhere before
'WideCharToMultiByte' already:
108528.171:0020:0024:Call
KERNEL32.WideCharToMultiByte(00000003,00000000,0075f2da

2
108528.171:0020:0024:Ret KERNEL32.WideCharToMultiByte() retval=00000002
ret=0040a804
Only somewhat interesting difference I could spot near this area, is that the
'id' is different in:
108528.171:0020:0024:trace:resource:find_entry_by_id root 00733000 dir 00733AA0
id 0809 ret 007344F0
Looking into that function and what it does, it doesn't seem too plausible that
it is related, but I could be very wrong.
There are also a lot of 'RtlAnsiStringToUnicodeString' things going on a lot
earlier, but I couldn't connect any of it to this yet.
I'm pretty sure this never worked right for this application, where it started
after some changes made to it back in 2019.
To test this, one needs to install the PlayOnline Viewer and Final Fantasy XI,
and after that, the config utility can be found under any of the 'Tools'
directories in 'install_path/SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASY XI'.

Textures are not shown in the configuration dialog of the 3D Maze screensaver
from Windows 95 (ssmaze.scr).
Steps to reproduce:
1. Run ssmaze.scr. This will open the configuration dialog.
2. The textures are shown for an instant before the dialog is finished loading.
3. The textures are not shown when the dialog is fully loaded.
The dialog allows choosing different textures by cliking on the small arrows.
When doing this, the textures are again visible, but the dialog background
becomes messed-up.
Thank you.

Tried several guides, bugfixes, walkthroughs etc. to try and get Paint Tool SAI
to work with pen pressure with a tablet (Wacom One Small) no luck. Have used
wine versions 1.5.5 SAI and 5.2-staging and the default wine version. Tried to
use SAI1 and SAI2, SAI1 works without pen pressure and SAI2 works but doesn't
register pen at all and confuses it for a mouse. Reason for submitting this bug
report is that pen pressure used to work some years ago but it doesn't any more
due to possible changes in wine ecosystem.

???? (U+1F972) or ???? (U+1F970). Crashes happen with all kinds of text boxes,
including username in the login dialog, search box and messaging dialog. Crash
does not happen if I uninstalled the Noto Color Emoji font [2].
Without WINEDEBUG, crashes are intermittent. With WINEDEBUG=+font, I always get
crashes.
The issue can be reproduced with a trivial Qt application (source attached).
The backtrace from a Qt 5.12.12 MinGW debug build [3] is also attached.
From the backtrace, Qt crashes when trying to get the string from
otm->otmpFullName [4]. In a gdb session, the address (otm + otm->otmpFullName)
points to an invalid address (needs to add otm per [5]). Apparently
GetOutlineTextMetrics does not correctly assign that pointer.

* The documents in the inventory are no longer readable (black screen). As this
is a point-and-click adventure game, this bug prevents any progress in the

Some games I play rely on using sound functionality with Windows Media Player
(Version 9) in order to produce the sound. Up to and including Wine version
7.0, this functionality worked. After I applied version 7.1 (wine-devel) and
subsequent versions, the sound functionality ceased to work, and the games emit
no sound. I hoped that someone had already reported this issue, but I see it
has not been reported up to this point. As a process of elimination, I
reviewed the list of changes for version 7.1, focusing on any reference to
"sound" or "audio" and temporarily replaced files "winmm.dll" and
"mfmediaengine.dll", but this did not resolve the issue. So, the issue appears
to lie elsewhere. Let me know if there are some tests I can run as I have a
virtual machine set up with "wine-stable" installed and a virtual machine set
up with "wine-devel" installed.

Craig

Cubase 12 (https://www.steinberg.net/cubase/) tries to call an unimplemented

How to reproduce:
1) Download the offline installer (official link:

as found on this page
https://o.steinberg.net/en/support/downloads/cubase_12/cubase_pro_12.html)
2) Extract the zip file
3) Don't run "Cubase 12/Setup.exe" (doesn't work). Instead navigate to "Cubase
12/Additional Content/Installer/" and run the Cubase12.msi (you don't need the
other MSIs)
4) After the installation, run the program (C:\Program Files\Steingerg\Cubase
12\Cubase12.exe)
5) Crash/unimplemented function error occurs
Note: I know I'm using an older version of wine but I looked at the code and
I'm almost certain that this is still unimplemented (this line is commented out
https://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/blob/HEAD:/dlls/advapi32/advapi32.sp…).

Installing seems to work fine in a fresh prefix on Slackware 15.0 but when
running it is throws a backtrace.
Steps to reproduce (please adjust paths accordingly):
mkdir WineApps/SkyWOW
export WINEPREFIX=/home/mwagner/WineApps/SkyWOW/
cd Downloads/
wine WOW-Windows.exe
cd

During the installation it complains about a missing Aero-Theme (will attach

Hello everyone,
I bought an old (but still shrinkwrapped) "Corel Draw 3.0" CD-ROM on ebay.
Please note that this is NOT Corel Draw X3. I installed in a clean wineprefix
and set winecfg to Windows 3.1 (which is recommended on the CD). Unfortunately
the installer (setup.exe) doesn't start up and gives a fatal error. The output
of this fatal error is attached.

Summary: [font cannot show in QQ ]When using the font

even makes the response speed of some functions of the

replacement.reg -> the registry file I modified fontwrong.log -> log of errors
that occurred
My English is not good, so I hope to be forgiven if there are any poor
wordings.
First of all, I appreciate your help and I will describe my problem in three
aspects.
[ Background of the problem ]
By using wine,I know that most of the font problems can be solved by installing
“allfonts” ect through winetricks, but I noticed that most of the fonts are not
open source.
So I want to use all open source fonts to display text in wine by my own
effort, such as NotoSans.
My ability does not support me to modify the source code directly, so I mainly
used the “Fonts\Replacements” function in the registry provided by wine to do
the replacement of missing\not open source fonts.
Most of the fonts displayed well after I made the replacements, but some fonts
had rendering problems, and these problems even affected the use of the
application.
Through my own research I found that all the changes I made to the registry did
not cause problems in wine 7.12, but in wine 7.18 they did.
By dichotomy, I found that the cause of the problem is the modification of the
file "dwrite", but I don't know where the problem occurs, so I'm asking for
advice.
[My actions]
The changes I made to the registry are in the file "replacement.reg", which you
can import directly from "./wine regedit."
I also deleted the fonts in . /wine/fonts file, because I want to display all
text in open source fonts.
In addition to changing the Fonts\Replacements in the registry and .
/wine/fonts file, I did not do any other things.
And I found that in my above operation, QQ can display all the text normally in
7.12, but not in 7.18.
[File description]
replacement.reg -> the registry file I modified
fontwrong.log -> log of errors that occurred
My model: ThinkPad-X1-Debian-11.4.0-amd64-KDE
I sincerely hope to get a reply, if you don't have time, you can simply point
me in the right direction, I'm also working on it now, hopefully we can make
wine better together
Yours: SvenL

Tested with both wine-7.0 and with wine-7.18-167-g16c6c249a51.
The Steam login UI has been updated, and is now not responding when accessed
with wine. Mousing over the text fields appears to highlight them, but clicking
or typing in the boxes doesn't work, nor does clicking on the Sign In button. I
have been accessing Steam with both versions of wine regularly (and recently)
and wasn't having problems until yesterday, when it seems the new login UI went
into effect across the board.
I did note another WineHQ bug that mentioned moving the box around and then
trying to type, but that didn't change the behavior here.
I would also note that the new UI is working properly when accessed via Proton
and with Crossover 22.
Please let me know if there is a log or other information I can provide.

Steam rfactor2 proton log
This bug is created after the one that exists in the Proton github issue
tracker
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/245
The game runs fine in single player mode since version 4.11 to the newest
versions of Proton, but there is a problem in multiplayer mode that makes the
game run slower.
We have asked to the game devs in their discord server for some info, try to
get some logs of the multiplayer execution, and finally, one dev told us that
despite the graphics thread was fine, there is something wrong affecting to the
physics thread in the game, and this only happens in online races, so the issue
may be in the network code of Proton/Wine. (@leillo1975 tried to run the game
in vanilla Wine, and the problem was also there).
Is there any way to trace the network execution to find what could be the
problem?
I added a log file in the proton issue tracker generated running the game with
the "PROTON_LOG=1 %command%" but don't know if that contains enough
information.
Let me know if I can add any other info.
Thanks!

Mouse input in NOLF is generally a bit "inprecise", but one thing is broken for
sure.
Some weapons feature a zoom mode, but when this zoom mode is switched on it's
almost impossible to accurately use it since the mouse input becomes very
sluggish then. Turn zoom off again and mouse input stabilizes again.
I suppose that's a dinput problem, but I'm not sure about that.
The wine-0.9.46 testresult here
(http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=305&iTestingId…)
mentions a "weird mouse problem", but I'm not sure if that's what I'm
encountering.
Haven't tried any native DLLs though.

Collection of Retail and Beta logs.
I had be playing/testing the new Dragonflight expansion for WoW recently, and
after this week's update, the game no longer launches, with the age old "Your
3D accelerator card is not supported" error. Research on previous occurrences
of this error have been fruitless, usually having something to do with multiple
GPUs and having the wrong one assigned.
Being that the WoW client updating was the only change to cause this issue, and
native Windows clients seem to have no issue, I can't help but think this lies
somewhere in wine, dxvk, or vkd3d namespace.
For information on my environment, I'm running via Lutris, and have tried both
Lutris and Wine runners, a few releases from 5.x, 6.x, and 7.x, up to 7.17
staging. I'm using dxvk v1.10.3 and vkd3d v2.6. My graphics card is 3060Ti, and
I get the error with both the 470xx and 515 nvidia drivers. The 3060Ti is the
only VGA controller in my system, and I'm running Arch 5.19.9. Manually setting
the 'gxApi "D3D11"' config line in Config.wtf doesn't change the behavior,
which applies to D3D11, D3D11_LEGACY, as well as D3D12.
I'll note that this error only occurs with Beta and PTR clients. (PTR is open
to everyone, if you'd like to test, not sure if you need gametime). Retail and
Classic both work just fine and haven't any issue, although, I've noticed the
in-game option to use D3D12 has disappeared, leaving me with only D311 options.
It used to be there, and I'm unsure when the option left.
I've attached logs from both Beta and Retail, let me know what else I can
provide/test for y'all.

eSword found here: https://www.e-sword.net/files/e-sword_1220_setup.exe
Using Wine 7.18 on Fedora 36 KDE Spin.
This behavior is observed on several different machines including high end AMD
3900XT gaming system and low end Dell 1540 laptop.
eSword 12.2.0 works fine under Wine 6.0.4 and does not exhibit these behaviors.
When you click on certain newer bible modules it throws an error;
"Error: 20058 Unexpected Text Control error. (1-1d03)
This only happens on newer bible modules: LSB, LSB+, NASB, NASB+, ESV,
ESV+,CSB, and TPT.
If you click OK on the error message, the font colors change to black on gray,
hard to see, and none of the "Perascope" links work, but the greek/hebrew
Strongs Number links still work.
Older bible modules work fine, including some with Parascope links such as
NASB95, NASB95+.
On the menu bar, if you click on Options, then on Font Settings... the program
crashes.
On the menu bar, if you click on Options, then on App Theme, and select any
Theme the program locks up and must be forced to Terminate.

Summary: Allow blacklisting unreliable and always new failures
Product: Wine-Testbot
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: unknown
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: fgouget(a)codeweavers.com

A number of tests produce false positives because:
* Either the failure message contains a value that changes with each run (e.g.
an HWND). In some cases these values are really necessary for diagnosis and
moving them to a separate line would make the code quite a bit more complex.
* Or the test fails intermittently and is hard to fix. Sometimes the cause of
the failures may also come from external factors such as bugs in QEmu (for
instance long execution delays causing timeouts).
* Sometimes the intermittent failure is the product of a new Windows version or
configuration, which requires investigating before a fix is found.
In all cases the tests should be fixed eventually, but a solution is needed for
the interim so these tests to not make the TestBot so unreliable that its
results are ignored.
So the goal is to provide a way to blacklist some test failures so they do not
cause a patch to be rejected. Some safeguards are needed to ensure that:
* Failures are not blacklisted lightly. The preference should always be to fix
the test.
* The blacklist does not get so large that it becomes hard to maintain.
* Once a test is fixed the corresponding blacklist entries are removed in a
timely fashion.
* There is still an incentive to fix the tests.
So here is a proposal for implementing this blacklist:
* Each blacklist entry should be associated with a Wine bug describing the
issue. That bug should provide some minimal diagnosis: whether it's a new
Windows behavior, a race condition or some issue that was reported to QEmu.
That would ensure we know why the blacklist entry was added. One could also
check the status of the bug when reviewing the blacklist entries. A closed bug
would be a strong hint that the blacklist entry is no longer needed.
* Rather than blacklisting whole test units, blacklist entries should target
specific test failures via a regular expression. Besides being finer grained
this would be useful for cases like user32:win which has different issues
depending on the locale and where each should be linked to a different bug
(bugs 48815, 48819 and 48820).
* The TestBot should record when each blacklist entry was last used. This
relies on having the above regular expression since without it the TestBot
would not know anything beyond 'the test unit was run and had failures'. Also
the regular expression would only be used against *new* failures. So this would
really record the last time the blacklist entry was actually useful.
An entry that was unused for a long time would be a prime candidate for
reviewing the corresponding bug and for removal. (Note: The blacklist would
also be used on WineTest reports so it would get a chance of matching its
target at least 5 days / week).
* The blacklist entries would only be needed for 'base' test configurations
since they are the only ones wine-devel patches run on.
* There should be a page listing the blacklist entries so developers have a
good starting point to work on them.
* Ideally the blacklist page would also point to the tasks where the blacklist
was last used. Since most of the blacklisted failures are either intermittent
or specific to a given test configuration this would make it easier for
developers to find reports where the failure did happen.
Note that Wine VMs often test multiple configurations per task (e.g. wow32
and wow64, different locales), each producing its own test report. So pointing
at just the task would leave the developer guessing which report should be
looked at. But that may be sufficient guidance.
* (test:unit, testbot-vm) tuples make it impossible to target a specific Wine
test configuration such as a specific locale since they all run on the same VM.
Similarly it would make blacklisting bitness-blind on Windows VMs. If necessary
the tuple could be extended either with the specific mission the blacklist
applies to, or with the basename of the corresponding report (the latter being
easier to use in comparisons). Whether that's practical and worth the effort
remains to be determined. One complication for instance is that this would lead
to more blacklist entries: many 64 bit VMs would need two entries, one for 32
bit tests and one for 64 bit tests.
* Pseudo database schema and sample use:

The TestBot needs to detect if a patch introduces NEW test failures. To do so
it compares the failure messages with those from reference WineTest runs. But
in some cases part of the message changes from one run to the next, causing the
failure to look new.
Of course in all cases the ideal solution is to fix the test so it does not
fail.
Barring that there are also cases where the varying value is not really useful
(e.g. handle or pointer values) and in that case it should just be removed from
the message.
But there may be cases where knowing the value is still useful. So one solution
would be to tag such values so the TestBot knows it can ignore them when
comparing failure messages. For instance they could be enclosed in double
braces, curly braces, or other.

Series of patches to implement basic SDK11 functionality
Recently DAZ Studio4 updated to 4.20 and the Iray engine also got updated to
the point it requires support for CUDA 11.4
I have worked through a great deal of the issues regarding support for SDK
11.4, aside from the D3D9/10/11 elements that have no equivalent Linux support.
The result is adding a few functions to the nvcuda implementation in
wine-staging. (Attachment with a series of 4 patches).
I have not yet been able to get SDK 11.6 samples to run, as this will (for now)
fail the CUDA runtime validation.. but DAZ Studio 4.20.1 is running fine.

What it looked like the last time it worked
When you click on an attraction or person in RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 & 2 you can
rename the object. A standard windows text-box should open in the upper-left
corner of the screen letting you input a new name for that object.
This text window is hidden behind the game screen when it is opened thus it is
inaccessible/not usable.
Tried with virtual desktop mode and fullscreen: both have the same issue.
Nothing obvious appears in the terminal.
Last version when it worked: Wine-6.0.
Bisecting revealed commit 4ce1d7f93a35322d149cbde29d619e2580159a80
was the culprit. Can't revert it on current Wine but the rename window appears
properly with the previous commit.
Steps to reproduce in RCT 2 demo:
Start a new game with the left-most icon at the bottom, select either "Crazy
Castle" or "Six Flags Belgium" scenario.
Left-click on an object to open an information window, select the rename icon
(looks like a brownish name-tag). A text-box is opened but it is placed behind
the game screen.
