need to install this package (EN.msi, for example) to get the "Languages"

The demo doesn't seem to be affected by bug 24669, so I tried it. It still
requires Steam (grrr), but runs okay. On Windows, I get a few intro videos,
first the 'E for Everyone rating', 2k games, Firaxis Games, Gamespy, then two
tribesmen talking in a tent around a fire, some vikings on a ship, Egyptian
slaves building a pyramid, etc.
On wine, you just get a black screen until you hit escape or wait until the
menu appears.
To reproduce:
install the game
login to steam
run the game, choose DirectX9 mode.

Native quartz/devenum/wmp{9,10} did not help.

The problems are:

Seems to be a wine bug: it should automatically drive its logs by default.

Execution trace
Hi, I have been playing Civilization V with the Gods&Kings expansion for some
weeks now, and loading my current game causes a crash.
Fore some time, I had been experiencing crashes when hitting Next turn on
several occasions in this same game. I would then transfer the last save to a
Windows system, progress to the next turn there, save again and continue under
my main (Wine) system.
But now, this trick does not work either.
Steam and Civ5 are installed in a clean prefix. I installed vcrun2008 and
directx9 with winetricks. I was able to complete another game before this one,
and I am able to start new games.
This does not seems to be related to the graphical engine. I suspect that the
program does something not entirely nice under certain circumstances, and that
the Wine implementations are less resilient or error-tolerant.

Full terminal output upon running Albitor
Albitor is an as-of-yet unreleased application that a friend of mine has
written; its aim is to be an editor for the DOS game Albion. In any case, I
received permission from him to link the application:
http://davince.tengudev.com/stuff/Albitor.zip
In any case, the main issue is that is crashes upon launch right away, even on
a completely clean Wineprefix, starting with this message:
Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000000 in 32-bit code
(0x00000000).
Intended behaviour is that it should show a dialog window asking you to find
the location of the game it's written for, but it doesn't even get to that
point.
A full trace is attached. It seems like it might be related to D3D since it's
the first thing in the trace, but I can't tell for sure.

When trying to skip the movie at the beginning of the game, it crashes. This

I logged a bug that I thought might be related for playOnLinux, if you're

I have also tried using a newer wine version: 1.7.21, but I get the same

crazy in certain conditions
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.23
Hardware: x86-64
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: eierfrucht(a)gmail.com
I have recreated this bug on KDE, LXDE and XFCE running their corresponding
native windows managers and Compiz alike. Distributions affected: Lubuntu,
Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Arch Linux and probably more. This currently happens with
Wine 1.7.23 but has been there since Office 2007 / 2010 became supported in
Wine.
The bug(s) manifestate(s) as follows:
Open any MS Office 2007 / 2010 app, maximize it, press the button again to
'unmaximize' it and there you go, you can no longer use the Maximize button
until you restart the app. That's basically the end of the story for LXDE and
XFCE users but KDE offers a workaround which in turn leads to discovery of
further bugs.
If you are a lucky user of KWin, ticking both "Ignore requested geometry ->
Force -> Yes" and "Obey geometry restrictions -> Force -> No" in app-specific
KWin settings for any particular Office 2007 / 2010 app seemingly solves the
above described issue, and Maximize button starts working as expected.
But if you minimize a maximized window to tray, restoring it back will lead to
an 'unmaximized' window appearing on the screen, which suprprisingly shows an
'unmaximize' symbol on its Maximize button and won't let you move or resize it
-- i.e. the application still thinks the window is maximized (but after
restoring from tray, it is not!) So a further click on the Maximize button is
needed to enable resizing and moving the window, and a third click to proprely
maximize it again.
There's a well-known 'workaround' -- that is turning off the Wine option that
allows the window manager to control the windows -- but then such windows won't
show in the task bar which renders this 'workaround' pretty much useless.

When running Unity 3D the application, for the most part works great, installs
perfectly and runs perfectly, you can even edit and work on your projects.
On startup both the scene panel AND the game panel have a 3d context.
However when you press the play button, the 3d context in the game panel
dissapears and Unity responds with the error
width <= 0 || height <= 0
UnityEditor.DockArea:OnGUI()
I have also tried removing the scene panel to see if that makes a difference,
it does not.
Please find attached my log file.

That's the second bug Wine had.
Or hell,not 1, 5 bugs.
And i'm running Linux mint Nadia with the installed version of wine. I
downloaded it from WineHQ,so don't worry.
First part was okay,the game itself was running PERFECTLY fine,but no sound or
anything,which is OK,since it adds more creepiness to the game.
Besides,count how many parts in the game,WHERE THERE'S NO SOUND AT ALL.
The hallway soundtrack was corrupted,and sped up.
The third part is the part where you enter:
White Face
But that appeared 1 second,and then went away.
I entered his name,and the arrow part was slow.
I found the elevator and entered it.
Again,everything was perfect,no sound still.
Text was black,though.
I found the Key,and entered the gate.
Back to the apartment.
Entered it,and wine said:
I can't handle this creepy game anymore,i'm quitting!
IT CRASHED ON ME.
So,to sum up:
1 No sound
2 Black text
3 Slowness
4 Corrupted track
5 1x crash
+
-----------------------
5 bugs in 1.
Unfortunately,i didn't managed to get snapshots,because i'd risk the game
crashing on me,i think.

Summary: League of Legends crashes when in-game shop is opened
due to invalid handling of mipmapped textures
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.22
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: Lothsahn(a)yahoo.com
This is different from bug 36423 which affects the launcher store. This is
about the in-game store.
There are a number of patches to resolve this problem, to remove mipmapped
textures:
https://github.com/A-Metaphysical-Drama/LoL-Linux-Toolshttps://bitbucket.org/Xargoth/tuxlol/wiki/Home
According to tuxlol, the problem is:
Since Wine is not able to handle mipmaps from textures smaller than one block,
TuxLoL is intented to patch these files from League of Legends to make the game
run.
The problem is that while LoLtools may work, TuxLol actually corrupts my
installation of League. Also, these solutions require you to rerun them every
time League is updated.
The author of the LoL-Linux-Tools therefore recommends you instead patch Wine
with the patch at the following location:
http://pastebin.com/xSNJjkMY
Would it be possible for this patch to be incorporated into wine core, so that
people don't have to manually compile wine with the patch? On my 64-bit
machine, compiling wine has been very nontrivial...
The patch is very small and I was able to manually integrate the changes to
1.7.22. I have attached the manually patched resource.c file (located in
dlls/wined3d) based on his patch.
I cannot verify the patch works due to issues compiling 32-bit wine on my
64-bit Ubuntu 14.04 system. However, many other users report that it does, in
fact, solve the problem.

I have several bugs i describe it's in your forum
http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?p=67879#67879
I use Ubuntu 10.10, and i have update Wine to 1.3.29. Use Delphi 2010.
1. Bug with in registry key HKLM\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows
NT\\CurrentVersion\
"InstallDate"
I fix it in my program modify my programm
2. Bud with XML file, where i save the settings of my program, I debug Viewer
and found, that the settings is don't saving on the disk in the file,
The root to the file in Ubuntu "C:\users\Public\Application
Data\connections_3.4.xml" - file is Ok, but i can't found it in system folders
of Ubuntu, but program is work correctly with him. I think it's virtual wine
file system.
I testing pogram and found error
TXMLDocument.SaveToFile(AFile); // ERROR - Some time functions saved a clear
empty file without data
I dont know is it bug of Wine or my program, but on the windows i don't have
this bug.
I change program to save XML as StringList
TXMLDocument.SaveToXML(string1);
TStringList.Add(string1);
TStringList.SaveToFile(AFile, TEncoding.Unicode);
It's working. I fix it.
3. Some littel bug with interface drawing, with TListView. It's not important
to me.
4. My main bug!!!
I have a problem with functions in Authorization process
CryptEncrypt
CryptDecrypt
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa379924(v=VS.85).aspx
i use secret key
dwProvType := PROV_RSA_AES;
dwAlgID := CALG_AES_256;
dwSessionKeySize := 256;
Very intresting that when encryptions data with size < 16 i don't have error,
but if data size is >16 i will get error!
If i use both of these functions in Windows or in Wine Ubuntu it's working
without error.
But if I Encrypt in Ubuntu and try Decrypt in Windows, CryptDecrypt get result
error NTE_BAD_DATA.
Can you test it ? Can you help me?
I try to fix it but unfortunaly...

Needs `winetricks vb6run` before running.
Going to the advanced options, the first dialog is General, Layout. There are
two panels, and Clicking 'Add' to move an entry from the left to the right
appears to remove it (it goes to the right, but its name is not displayed.
Clicking apply/ok, closing the dialog and opening it shows them again, however.
I'll attach screenshots of it.

I just updated winetricks mono12 to install mono-1.2.5,
and once you have pure windows corefonts really installed,
it seems to run small apps just fine. Cool! So I tried
a random real .net-1.1-ish app with mono-1.2.5.
Running
wine tax_Online-Banking_trial_buhlde.exe
says that it wants to install three packages first:
1) .net 1.1
2) .net 1.1 german language
3) mdac 28
On my gutsy box, doing
$ sudo dpkg -r msttcorefonts
$ sh winetricks fakeie6 mdac28 corefonts mono12
and then set the .net 1.1 registry entries (gee, should winetricks
mono12 do this?)
$ cat > mono.reg <<_EOF_
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v1.1.4322]
"Install"=dword:00000001
"SP"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\.NETFramework\policy\v1.1]
"4322"="3706-4322"
_EOF_
$ wine regedit mono.reg
convinced it that .net 1.1 and mdac28 were installed -- but it still wanted
to install the german language pack for .net 1.1. Doing
$ mkdir -p
/home/dank/.wine/dosdevices/c:/windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v1.1.4322/DE
$ touch
/home/dank/.wine/dosdevices/c:/windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v1.1.4322/DE/mscorrc.dll
fixed that, and the app installs successfully.
Starting the app with
$ cd ~/".wine/drive_c/Program Files/Buhl/tax online-banking"
$ wine Banking.exe
failed because it wanted mfc42;
$ sh winetricks vcrun6
fixed that.
The app now aborts on startup with
err:ole:COMPOBJ_DllList_Add couldn't load in-process dll L"c:\\Program
Files\\Common Files\\Microsoft Shared\\DAO\\Dao360.dll"
I see that file in $HOME/.wine/drive_c/windows/temp/tax_money/Common/Microsoft
Shared/DAO/Dao360.dll, so perhaps the mdac28 installer screwed up somehow?

text is not displayed properly. Installing native riched20
improves the situation greatly (but even then, the bold
and italics buttons don't work; perhaps you need riched30 or later
for them to work).
For instance, create a new blank page, then type
"This is a blank page."
The first word shows up as blanks unless you minimize and maximize

There are other text oddities, but let's fix that one first.

Now that bug 10134 is fixed, and .net 1.1's installer runs to completion,

it complains
fixme:shell:URL_ParseUrl failed to parse L"mscorlib"

...
This was investigated and tracked down to an extra '\' by A.F. in
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10134#c20
Copying his comments here, since that bug was about dotnetfx install failure:
Registering assemblies into GAC and pre JIT-ing (ngen tool) doesn't work right
now due to a bug in shlwapi's UrlCombineW().
Because of this bug, .NET 1.x fusion loader won't find any referenced
assemblies on app startup, leading to rather cryptic "resource not found" error
message.

The returned combined URL/path is invalid.
Fusion internally re-verifies paths before mapping dlls and rejects it.
reduced: "c:\\test/" + "c:\\test\\mylib.dll"
wine -> "file:///c:\\test\\mylib.dll/" (wrong)
windows -> "file:///c:\\test\\mylib.dll" (correct, I wrote a small test case
and tested with Windows XP SP2).
So get that bug fixed and apps/fusion will find the requested assemblies.
--
For trace/logging purposes you can enable fusion's verbose logging:
--- snip ---
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fusion]
"ForceLog"=dword:00000001
"LogResourceBinds"=dword:00000001
"LogFailures"=dword:00000001

That will get you detailed CLR assembly search and loader logs.
Handy for diagnosing assembly loading problems.

On some program installations, the progress bar does not move during the

I have noticed this a few times during various installations; the only one I

Yes, just tested with the full game. I cannot test full screen as my xrandr

I can confirm that this bug also affects the demo. Note: clicking off the

The German Demo version works fine but the English Demo still fails with
"Conflict: a hook process was found. ...". Someone reported this in the AppDB.
I tested this with 1.2-rc5 and 1.7.24, both show the same error, so maybe
Austin/James/Mat used the German Demo? I wanted to test 1.1.29 as well but it
didn't compile.

I think this is not an issue in any full version of the game.

A screen shot of the error.
this is a driver for my USB wireless adapter in my desktop computer
the computer is too far from my modem for me to make a wired connection
and the Linux OS (LinuxMINT) does not detect the ADAPTER even if i take it out
and put it back in again.
when i try to install the windows driver using wine
during installation, this error appears:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ERROR WINDOW
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Program Error
The program SetDRV.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. we
are sorry for your inconvenience
This is caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in Wine. You may
want to check http://appdb.winehq.org for tips.......
If this problem is not present under windows and has not been reported yet, you
can report it at http://bugs.winehq.org.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the error window has a CLOSE button at the bottom, when i close it the same
exact error appears 3 more times, then he installation continues normally and
even gives me the option to restart the system.
OBVIOUSLY THE DRIVER DID NOT INSTALL PROPERLY AND DOES NOT WORK
i really need the driver to work, the USB wireless adapter is the only way i
will be able to access internet on my desktop computer. it is two floors away
from my modem so i cannot use an Ethernet cable.
thank you

With a discussion with Dan Kegel, i run WINEDEBUG with 4 differents flags

I attach the two logs.
I understand why wine crash after to apply these patch (patch 1.02 and 1.03).
The game runs correctly in vanilla version or with the patch 1.01.

These need to be fixed with explicit variant override to have the launcher

Index -> CIM_UINT32|COL_FLAG_KEY, VT_I4

CurrentVerticalResolution -> CIM_UINT32, VT_I4
There are probably more incorrect type mapping present but the above properties
are strictly required to be fixed.

When I run anarchy online for the first time (since a system bootup) the game
screen has these blocky squares of blinking colors all over that fade as the
game finishes loading. But the pointer remains messed up and sometimes places
in the game world have their texture surface a mesh of random pixel colors.
Quiting the game and reloading always fixes these issues, as it only happens
the first time the game is run. About 10% of the time the game will not finish
loading and the user has to hit the ESC key which causes the game to exit and
go out to the login screen again. When run again it will be fine as mentioned
above.
This bug is in 1.1.11 thru 1.1.15 that I personally know of and have tested.

Screenshot of blowing snow clouds using D3D9 engine
Due to a bug in Blizzard's OpenGL engine I switched to the D3D9 engine.
All works well except for the weather in, among others, Tanaris. During a
sandstorm (sand clouds blowing towards the player) yellow, red and green pixels
temporarily form on the screen, like sand blowing against the screen. The same
is observed in the Valley of Emperors in Kun-Lai Summit, where there's snow
clouds blowing towards the player - see also the attachments. The comparison
with the OpenGL screenshot suggests that the pixels should actually be
snowflakes.
This effect is affected by the particle density setting: decreasing the setting
decreases the amount of pixels (and normally: the amount of snowflakes) and
vice versa.
This bug has been observed using wine versions 1.5.13 and 1.5.14. No others
versions were tested (using OpenGL before). Wine is set to windows XP mode
using default library settings. msvcr80.dll is present in the directory of WoW.

Summary: When copying data into memory, shows a dialog message

Product: Wine
Version: 1.6.1
Hardware: x86-64

Crash details
This is a Business Management software named PHC Enterprise.
This software has a menu which allows us to write some SQL code and execute.
After that, it pops a dialog box with some options: Print, Copy data to memory,
Copy data to Excel, etc
Since I use LibreOffice, normally (at Windows and Linux) I have to Copy data to
memory than paste it on LibreOffice Calc.
When pressing "Copy data to memory" pops another dialog/message box with the
information that the copy operation was successful but then crashes.
(The crash is not always the same... sometimes crashes even before the new
dialog box shows, after pressing the button)
This software also uses Visual Fox Pro, which I believe that is part of this
issue.

Terminal output on wine 1.3.18
If you use winetricks to install .net 3.5, and then add a registry key to
prevent the magicka demo from attempting to do the same (see AppDB), you can
launch the game. Initial launch will give a warning "Command line option
syntax error" when it installs DirectX, though it looks like that succeeds.
The game will load, sound and the intro screens will play, but then crash about
a second after reaching the title screen. The attached is the terminal output.

Bug #: 33867
Summary: Uplay shop doesn't work
Product: Wine
Version: 1.6-rc3
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: crypt32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com
Classification: Unclassified
Doing 'winetricks uplay' installs uplay, plus native
crypt32 from XP (to work around bug 33742 ?) and gdiplus (to work around bug
33673).
(See https://code.google.com/p/winetricks/source/detail?r=1000 )
You can go to the shop and add things to your shopping cart.
When you do, you see the warning
[0623/110155:WARNING:cert_verify_proc_win.cc(113)] Unknown error -2146885628
mapped to net::ERR_FAILED
and if you actually click on 'buy now', that line is shown again, and it says
"The Uplay shop is Unavailable
The Uplay Shop seems to be temporarily unavailable."
It seems Uplay is using Chromium Embedded Framework; that warning also shows
up here:
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=162311
Also tried the patch from bug 27168 (since this is a chrome-based https
problem), without native crypt32, but then it gets stuck in a loop
at the initial 'updating uplay' screen.
The workaround for the user, of course, is to just go to the uplay shop
in a normal web browser.

This is an extension of bug 14203 that was marked invalid. I probably wasn't
clear about the problem. The application fails to install, but as I mentioned
in that bug report, that can be overcome by first copying MFC42.DLL to the
windows/system32 directory. The main problem is that the program does not
initialize properly when launched. The initial error that is displayed implies
that Strip.ocx is probably still not working properly. But to reproduce the
main problem, run the demo program, click File, Open, and then choose one of
the settings files. At this point additional tabs should show up on the main
screen, which show all the settings available to that vehicle. Without at least
this much functionality, the application is garbage.
The demo is available from http://www.fc-datalogit.co.nz/FC%20Edit%20DEMO.zip
Thanks in advance!

C# source code of the little program
I have a very small C# program which just reads a .NET assembly dll, then uses
the .NET reflection API to query the dll's version, then write it out to the
console. (it is just a .NET dll version checking tool, basically).
It works with mono on linux, and it works with win32 mono on wine; but with
microsoft .NET Framework under wine, (i.e. running it "plain" rather than
through win32 mono, if one has both mono and .net framework 2.0 installed), it
dies with a few thousands of
"err:ole:CoWaitForMultipleHandles Unexpected wait termination: -1, 87"
among other messages which scrolls off screen. I have seens the
CoWaitForMultipleHandles message under completely different contexts
(http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12259#c2)
This seems to be related to how the .Net Framework interacts with wine,
since the executable in both mono linux and win32 mono +wine work as expected.
The source code of the small C# program is attached. I can provide a small
executable if it helps - the small C# program is a stripped down version of
BeanSprout in the sourceforge project (and I am the project admin, so I can
upload it there).
I know some might say this is not worth the time since it works with mono/linux
win32 mono/wine, but I have other .NET programs which works poorly with either,
and works better with MS.Net but only occasionally dies with a similiar message
with MS.Net... and the thousands of "err:ole:CoWaitForMultipleHandles" messages
also seems to bug other people (bug 12259, and possibly others).

The included config.exe simply doesn't work (runs, does nothing, exits). I

that setting the compatibility mode to Windows 95 lets it run.
I compiled in 16-bit support and tried some Windows version settings, no luck.

I am using Wine 1.4 on Ubuntu 12.04 and my VGA is an Intel Mobile
915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Controller. I have tried using the CnC
Graphics Patch and adding the ddraw.dll file to the game directory, but neither
one stopped the mouse movement from lagging the game.

EA Origin crash without workaround
Hi,
EA Origin does not works correctly when i launch it with the simple command
like "wine Origin.exe".
With this command, i have 2 results :
1- Origin window does not show, there is nothing. But the "Origin.exe"
processus exist. ("Origin.exe" processus at 200% (2 Cores / 4 are used))
2- Same thing than "1-" but i have a crash log in the ouput console. You can
see all crash log in the attachment. ("Origin.exe" processus at 0% (No Cores
used)
One solution exist. The workaroud is to use taskset command to launch the
application. With "taskset -c 0 wine Origin.exe", the application always works
but if i launch a game from Origin, the game will use only one core.
For example, if i launch Mass Effect 3 game with Origin only, i have
approximately between 25-30 fps when there are more PNJ, explosions etc...
But if i launch ME3 with Origin+Workaround, i have only 10-15fps when there are
more PNJ, explosions etc...
******
I tried to launch "taskset -c 0 wine Origin.exe" in a first console and launch
the game with their proper executable in a 2nd console (taskset -c 0,1,2,3 wine
MassEffect3.exe) => Without success, the game process still use one CPU and not
the totality.
******
Thanks for your help or idea to resolv this problem.

This is one of the most requested apps out there;
the free software community really needs to come

The app requires .net, so I did "winetricks dotnet20", then
ran wlinstaller.exe. No joy, not even a gui.
(Supposedly a previous version would install, so perhaps
this is a regression in wine, but more likely it's an
enhancement in windows live writer :-)

possible offending code
Quincy 2005 is an open-source IDE that calls external binaries for certain
functions such as grep. I believe the path determination code is not
functioning correctly under Wine, as Quincy is searching for these binaries at
~/.wine/dosdevices/c:/ instead of ./bin/.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Quincy
2. Launch quincy.exe from the bin directory of the Quincy installation
3. Attempt to use an external tool from the "tools" menu - such as grep.
What I hope is the relevant code and a file trace is attached.

Hello,
this is an continuation with Xenocode Virtual Appliance "Hold'em Manager" from
bug 18274
Although wrapped with Xenocode it seems not to bundle .NET 2.0 Framework
(Xenocode can optionally do this).
Required prerequisites:
1. clean WINEPREFIX
2. sh winetricks -q dotnet20
The next part is buried within managed app domain hence debug trace doesn't
give much useful information (some relay thunks prevent proper execution due to
nature of Xenocode).

The problematic source location:

LPVOID WINAPI MapViewOfFileEx( HANDLE handle, DWORD access,
DWORD offset_high, DWORD offset_low, SIZE_T count, LPVOID addr )
{
...
if ((status = NtMapViewOfSection( handle, GetCurrentProcess(), &addr, 0, 0,

&count, ViewShare, 0, protect )))
{
SetLastError( RtlNtStatusToDosError(status) );
addr = NULL;
}
return addr;
}
--- snip dlls/kernel32/virtual.c ---
Due to Xenocode native API hooks, NTSTATUS = 0x40000003
(STATUS_IMAGE_NOT_AT_BASE) gets returned which is sane in this situation.
Wine unfortunately validates "success" by either using "if (status)" or if
(status != STATUS_SUCCESS)" in several locations.
MSDN: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc704588(PROT.10).aspx
--- quote ---
0x40000003
STATUS_IMAGE_NOT_AT_BASE
{Image Relocated} An image file could not be mapped at the address that is
specified in the image file. Local fixes must be performed on this image.
--- quote ---
>From my view this doesn't qualify as an error at all (positive value).
Wine should allow this to succeed.
I found at two occurrences of NtMapViewOfSection() which cause Xenocode to fail
due to NTSTATUS "STATUS_IMAGE_NOT_AT_BASE":
dlls/kernel32/virtual.c:MapViewOfFileEx
dlls/ntdll/loader.c:load_native_dll
Although there are more occurrences of this idiom in Wine source tree, only
these two seem relevant to Xenocode (due to hooks).
Either honour STATUS_IMAGE_NOT_AT_BASE when NtMapViewOfSection() is called in
these two locations or make a generic check >= 0 because non-negative numbers
usually indicate success from my understanding of NTSTATUS.

With the release of Wine 1.1.30 SIV 4.01 (http://rh-software.com/) is crashing.
This is a knock effect of NetGroupGetInfo() being added. The issues can be
replicated by downloading http://rh-software.com/downloads/zip/siv_v4.01.zip
and then issuing the command: WINE SIVE -SAVE=[wine-groups]=stdout.
The first issue if caused by NetLocalGroupGetInfo() returning success, but not
actually setting the pointer to a LOCALGROUP_INFO_1 buffer. When SIV then
accesses this a fault if generated. Some times this crash does not occur.
The next crash is caused when SIV calls NetLocalGroupGetInfo() which is not
implemented at all.
This is an issue in netapi32, but that does not seem to be an available
component.

The test in these files aren't satisfied by wine, but setting version to

allows the installer to run.

have done the "permissions", but when I click on the .exe file in wine, I get a
"Program Error" message box with

" The program "Photo!Editor.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to

This can be caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in WINE... you
may want to check appdb.winehq.org for tips about running this application
(been there, couldn`t find anything)
If this problem is not present under windows ( it works fine in windows Vista)

Which is what I am doing !....
(It may be something to do with DLL files (as I needed one to get IRFANVIEW
working )(but the error box doesn`t give that info ...)

Every once in a while, DNS10 crashes with a seh error, caused, I believe, by
either a page fault or stack handler problem.
It crashes when using Dictation Box. Sometimes it crashes when DB is being

I will try to attach several different logs.
The first log is a WINEDEBUG=+seh.
Last error message before crash is:

I will also try to get the following when the program crashes at first instance
and when it crashes later:
WINEDEBUG=+seh+relay

Bug ID: 35587
Summary: League of Legends: Long delay before loading into the
game when sound is enabled
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.12
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: codehotter(a)gmail.com
Classification: Unclassified
This problem has existed for a while, it is not a problem new in 1.7.12.
If you have sound enabled, and you load into a game, there's a delay before the
game starts loading. For 70 seconds (on my system) the screen stays the same:
the background and your own summoner name are loaded, but your champion
portrait and your summoners, are blank. Your % loaded stays at 0%. Other
players are also completely blank. Eventually, you start loading normally, at
0%, when most everyone else is already done.
If you start the game with sound disabled in the game options (ESC -> Sound ->
Disable All Sound), there is no delay and you load into the game immediately.
However, if you then enable sound during the game, you experience the delay as
soon as you click OK. The screen freezes, and you cannot see what is happening
or do anything until the delay is over.
This is a relatively minor issue. However, if the game client crashes and you
restart it, you not only have to load in again, but you also have to wait an
extra minute for this delay, during which the enemy team can gain significant
advantage.
Attached is the console output while this happens.
