Seems to be a regression from a versions about 0.9.3x — as i can remember,
there was no such problem with old versions (but of course, there was other

Blitzkrieg game runs too fast; it renders the game unplayable. The problem
manifests itself in:
- main menu, when entering profile name (cursor blinks very fast).
- the game itself: units move in a blink of an eye, map scrolling is
instantaneous, highlight for active action icon blinks too fast, water effects
(rain, snow) are very fast etc.
Note, that due to bug #20311, it's only possible to start German or Russian

We need a way to find out about these reserved but not mounted drive letters
from mountmgr. Then winecfg can be updated track them and not clobber them (and
possibly show them in the UI).
This probably means a change to IOCTL_MOUNTMGR_QUERY_UNIX_DRIVE.

Confirming that this issues is completely unchanged in Wine 1.1.43. Steps
followed to reproduce:
1. Run install from the terminal: wine "D:\setup.exe"
2. When prompted for second disk, run "wine eject d:" (physical eject or normal
umount commands still do not work fully; disk ejects, but second disk cannot
mount)
3. After the second disk is mounted, continue install, will progress to 100%.
4. When prompted for the first disk, run "wine eject d:" again and put in the
first disk
5. After mounting, try to continue install and immediately get the "An I/O
error occurred while installing a file. This is normally caused by bad
installation media or a corrupt installation file" message with "Abort" and
"Retry" options. Retry does nothing, Abort rolls back the install.
Terminal reports the following at the moment of the I/O error:
"fixme:shell:IShellLinkA_fnGetPath (0x1859a0): WIN32_FIND_DATA is not yet
filled."

It's not mainly a driver thing, but also the question if the hardware supports
the minimum GLSL feature set. Also keep in mind that with the OSS 3d drivers
from mesa choosing GLSL is actually not such a good idea, since the compiler is
_very_ far from producing optimal code (when comparing to nvidia blob and
fglrx).
So at least the people using mesa drivers are probably interested in getting
this also fixed for the ARB path.

This issue seems to be fixed, somewhere between 1.1.37 and 1.1.39 (i have no
compiled version for 1.1.38). In 1.1.37 characters are still overbrighted,
1.1.39 renders characters properly.
Tried with the demo and the retail version of the game, clean wine install,
in-game details were set to 'High' (including 'Pixel shaders for skin')

I recently installed Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 and any time that a menu is not
dropped down the cpu usage on both of my cores skyrockets. This is not an
isolated problem as I have read others say the same thing. I installed it by
using the guide located at
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=7694
It seems to work fine other than the cpu usage issue.

This bug appeared in Wine 0.9.60 preventing the installation of the licensing
utility (Flexnet), still existing in 0.9.51 with all other components
(including Java and .NET) of Trados installing fine and very obvious progresses
in the field of assemblies registrations.
One difference with the previous versions was that when you had this installed
and you were starting Wine server, you had for a few seconds a black (dos)
screen where flexnet was initializing. Now this black screen is not happening
anymore.
I will do a regression test in the course of the week-end.

Hi I could install Corel Grafix Suit 12 on Linux with the help of Wine.
But when I start Corel Draw I get following Error :
Registry Curropt : The UI Language Registration List is Invalid.
So I checked Registry.
I found below given entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> Software --> Corel -->
CorelDraw --> 12.0 --> LangResourceDir
"c:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Graphics 12\Languages\<LANG>\Programs"
So I checked c:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Graphics 12\Languages\EN\
I found that there is no Programs folder. Then I compared content same
Directory path on Windows PC where Corel 12 is installed and working. I found
that there are some files and folders under "EN" directory. So I coppied EN
directory from that PC to Linux PC in Same path and restarted wine and did
wineboot but no luck getting same error.
I have attached installation logs.
Thanks

Hello.
I have previously filed a bug about Mathematica not being able to install:
URL: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11725
And this same bug in one report which will be marked as invalid:
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11765
The error of this report is:
- Writing wrong Mathematical expressions which will lead to errors makes it
crash.
It is too often that expression will output errors like: "expression does not
converge", or "function can not be evaluated on x=...", or mathematical things
like that. So if after only one error, Mathematica crashes then it is not
usable.
Test with: f[x_]=x+3-
The last "-" sign must be followed by another expression. So this has to output
an error without crashing.
It also crashed when you write a clossing sign ")" before an openning sign "("
(maybe because one is trying to fix a line).
Wine debug outputs of this is on the first attached file.
Mathematica reproduces a "chord" sound on each error which is not reproduce by
wine before crashing.
Also there is a non windows Mathematica console. It is Math.exe on the same
dirs as Mathematica.exe
It seems like it does work well:
Testing with wrong expression does not lead to any results and Mathe.exe
doesn't take it as an input.
Other expressions like:
f[x_]=1/x
f[0]
Does shows respective errors of complex infinite value.
No Plotting available.
No help browser available
No easy copy&pasting editor.
All this errors were tested on ubuntu 7.10 AMD64 and with wine 0.9.55 (becouse
.56 is not available yet for ubuntu on your repos) and with all builtin dlls,
but also some natives does the same results.
It is only one of other errors of Mathematica.
I couldnt upload the logs here, so i uploaded it to esnips. Freely
doenloadable.

This only appears to be an issue with Wine 1.1.36 and above; after bisecting
the tree, it was found that this patch (

Yes, it pretty much directly depends on solving bug 6971. Only this bug is
caused by Wine warping mouse which interferes with some games.

I've got Wine compiling in the background now and I'll try to have an answer

Sorry I haven't looked at it in so long. It is still an issue, but the times
I've tried to step through the debugger to track it down, I could never find
where the window loses focus. If someone with Windows programming experience
would like to take a stab at it, I'd be grateful.

Yes, as the music is midi based, it will stay an issue until wine implements
midi. Are there any other bug reports about midi specifically? This should
probably be merged/replaced with that one if it exists.

Well I turned on GLSL and shaders, and the game runs just fine. I can't say
that I'm particularly interested in the backbuffer problem. If I was running
on the r200 card, I would be, but even that should be getting fbo support? So
FIXED because of improved driver support (finally), but abandoned as far as the
backbuffer option. Either way I cannot complain, so I'll just say fixed.

I retired my old AGP system two months ago, and now have with an RV730 with
Mesa 7.9-dev. With this card I can test two ways now.
OffscreenRenderingMode = backbuffer
Same as R200, skybox upside-down
OffscreenRenderingMode = fbo
Not upside-down, but a slide-show.
Pbuffers was obsoleted...? and never worked for me anyway.
I'm not sure this is the solution yet. Backbuffer is playable and I'm sure I
can still hack it to flip it right. Do we keep this open as, fix upside down
with backbuffer rendering? Eventually it will be obsolete anyway.

There is something wrong in Wine 1.1.36 as it relates to the Microsoft VBScript
installation. It appears to install correctly (no error and success message
is shown) however if you use explorer.exe to double click on a valid .vbs file,
the following message from Windows Script Host is displayed:
Can't find script engine for script "C:\temp\secure.vbs"
When my application tries to load the VBScript engine, it also fails with the
message:
Script Engine VBScript is not installed
Note that the above Microsoft VBScript install module installs and works
properly on Wine version 1.0.1-1.
I am testing on a Redhat Entrprise 5 x86_64 system.

Attachmate's KEA! VT420 emulator used to work in Wine (back in 2000 :) ). The
current version of KEA! is 5.1.
It installs, and I can start it; when I choose a connection profile, it opens a

"OLE - error creating server class factory: error code 0x800706c0"
I can click okay, and sometimes it connects to the remote host, and sometimes
not, but in all cases it freezes, so that I have to kill Wine to get out.
The shell error output is attached.

When I start Grand Prix Legends 2004 Demo at 640x480, the game runs fluently at
36 fps like it does under windows, but if I change the resolution at 800x600 or
higher, it runs at about 1 fps and at the same moment the cpu usage goes to
100% (at 640x480 is at 20-25% maximum). This happens in a randomic way because
sometimes it switch correctly to the higher resolution and in that case it runs
fluently even at 800x600 (I've seen this case in 3 or 4 cases over more than 30
times I tried to switch to this resolution). However I've never been able to
run at 1024x768 as I normally do under windows.

With the wine 1.1.43 with the two reverted patches for the Delphi top level
window minimize and restore the problem looks fixed. I had no problem using the
delphi 1 ide and adding a tmemo to a form or editing tstrings of a memo or
list.

Fresh installation of planescape torment, without tweaking any configuration

I've tested it on wine 1.1.26, Ubuntu 9.04 and 185.xx NVidia driver, AMD CPU.

This is still an issue with wine 1.1.43. Switching "FullScreen" from 1 to 0 in

Summary: lstrlen is incorrectly implemented in
include/winbase.h
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: timurrrr(a)google.com
Hi.
I've been running Chromium tests under wine under Valgrind (see
http://wiki.winehq.org/Wine_and_Valgrind ) and found an incorrect
implementation of lstrlen in Wine.
According to MSDN, lstrlen should return 0 if the argument is NULL
See http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms647492(VS.85).aspx
In include/winbase.h I found this:
>>>>>>>>>
extern inline INT WINAPI lstrlenW( LPCWSTR str )
{
const WCHAR *s = str;
while (*s) s++;
return s - str;
}
extern inline INT WINAPI lstrlenA( LPCSTR str )
{
return strlen( str );
}
<<<<<<<<<
Both implementations handle the "str=NULL" case incorrectly.
strlen segfaults on Linux if you simply call strlen(NULL).

The mentioned workaround of reducing the frame rate didn't help for me, but
there's also a setting to reduce Game Engine Speed which does reduce the
flickers quite a bit in a recent wine (1.1.43). There are some left but the
game is much more playable.
I'm using AMD 780G chipset graphics and the fglrx 10.4 beta from Ubuntu in
Gentoo (without any fancy optimization flags).

Sounderror
If you launch the game Dragon Age Origins there will be no playback of sound.
If you look in the configuration utility for the game, you will find that there
is no soundcard or playback device to be found there either.
>From the debugging it looks like the game is looking at my USB-ports for sound
devices.

Output from wine "c:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe"
It appears EVE Online will not start without a native DNSAPI.dll. Austin
English tried to assist me with this issue in the forums
(http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=5037).
This game does work for me in Crossover Games Linux 7.2. I'd prefer to get it
working in Wine, if at all possible. I have attached the error message and am
willing to do what it takes to resolve the issue.

Right, Wine has no ATI/fglrx support...
http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/?a=search&h=HEAD&st=grep&s=fglrx&sr=1http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/?a=search&h=HEAD&st=grep&s=+ATI+&sr=1
Wine's graphics code is very complex, and ATI's broken drivers (getting better
finally) don't make it any easier. If you'd like to help, please send patches,
but complaining on bugzilla won't help anyone.

So uh here we are in 2010 with the same problem. I dont understand how this
gets 28 votes and never looked at. If Wine isnt going to support ATI put it on
the front page so ATI users dont waste their time screwing with your program. I
have this issue in multiple games with multiple ATI cards and Ive tried stock
and 1.1.43 of Wine. Seriously people quit wasting our time you obviously build
this program to ONLY work with Nvidia.

This bug was fixed in 2006. If you have a problem 4 years later, you need to
file a new bug. It would be worth retesting with current git before filing the
bug though.

I have Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala, Wine 1.1.43, and I entered my codes in to
Blizzard and downloaded it. When I try to open Diablo II LOD, it tells me
UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: ACCESS VIOLATION (c0000005) . I posted the output at
