Hello, try lowering CSTypeDeath -> Tall in the clientscheme.res file. The crash
is caused because the font is too large to be drawn in the buffer, So try
setting it to 1 and see if you still crash, then increase it until you find a
value that's good for you. Hope this helps :)

The ClientScheme.res file didn't seem to do anything for me, and the game still
crashed. I know I put the file in the right place, because I tried another
ClientScheme.res file from fpsbanana and it worked. I'm wondering if an update
to the game caused the hud fix to stop working?
For now I'm just going to run 1400x1050 instead of 1680x1050 and play on
servers that don't allow the autosniper. Those are the only two things that
seem to make the game crash for me.

Summary: Autocad2006 usage problem
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.14
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: critical
Priority: P1
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: fanetsa8(a)yahoo.com
we could install autocad2006 on wine 1.1.9 (upgraded to 1.1.14) using
winetricks (latest). autocad2006 works as long as small and simple drawings are
concerned. But when we come to large sized (10mb or more) and some complex
drawings (only 2mb) but with many hatches and drawings in a small place, the
program responds so slowly that it is generally not possible to work with. The
drawings we are mentioning here work perfectly on windows xp with only 512mb
RAM (our machine running Ubuntu 8.1 and wine 1.1.14 2ghz duo, with 2gb RAM). We
learnt that this is a defect of wine.
One manifestation is that with such drawings, the processor usage becomes 100%
and go to a stand still situation. We really need wine, and try to contribute
as much as we can, but this time it has become tough to continue using wine. We
need help... and wine needs to be upgraded to solve such problems.
Thanks

On my system, I have to set up `rm -rf ~/.local/share/applications/wine

Wine prefixes for testing purposes and then simply delete the prefixes when I'm
finished testing.
This works, but prevents me from retaining any icons from my default Wine
prefix.
Deleting the Z: link to prevent otherwise trustworthy apps from innocently
cluttering up the system at large keeps desktop icons in check, but it still
seems like a bit of an ugly hack.

Since few weeks (patch 3.0.8?) the memory usage of wow grows over time.

When i continue to play, i get a critical error saying "not enough memory".
My addon usage is at around 18mb.

I'm using the newest version of the proprietary NVIDIA driver (180.22 and
180.27 with the same problem) and I can run every DirectX game fine (even with
Multisampling), but when I try to run the same game again (or another), I'm
getting a GLXBadDrawable error. I also tried disabling Multisampling in wine
and lower resolutions. I encounter this bug in any DirectX oder even DirectDraw
game, with all resolutions, so I don't think it could be a memory problem (I
have 512 MB dedicated and even games with a usage of less than 32 MB without
Multisampling have this problem). I don't have this problem when I don't use
wine (for example XEN-HVM with OpenGL VFB or Unreal Tournament 2004 Linux
version can start as often as I want with all settings without problems). Only
wine apps can't start anymore. This seems to be NVIDIA driver related (there's
already a bug in the NVIDIA forum:
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=124730), but because it only
happens with wine's OpenGL and not wiht other OpenGL app, it might be a wine
problem (or can be avoided by wine although it's a driver bug).
I'd like to hear if others have the same problems and/or further information.
I'd also like to understand what causes this bug (it seems to be some locking
mechanism, see messages below) and if I can avoid it (my only solution is
restarting X, what is not really a solution).
This is the error message:

Also there's a typo error, "do do" should be "to do"! :p

Looks mildly okay now. And installer works. (1.1.14, nvidia card)
The "Load Working Model" and "Load Reference Model" buttons is hidden behind
the 3D display window (click blindly at the lower left), which makes the
interface rather non-obvious. But loads models fine.
Can't manipulate the models (rotate/zoom/etc).

That's obvious and that's also my opinion.
The problem is that including the DIB engine inside GDI32 (where it should
indeed belong) would require huge changes in gdi32 code itself.
So, IMHO, we wouldn't see the dib engine at least for a couple of years or
more.
Now, with the winedib.drv choice we could develop ALL dib engine code from
outside gdi32, with just some very small changes inside it, and have it
working.
With my latest code, the engine, if disabled, is totally transparent to gdi32
so it can't cause regressions, which is a good stuff, but can be tested by
people needing it.
Once we have the winedib.drv code fully functional, nothing blocks us to
integrate it in gdi32.
Another possible solution would be to make an "alternative" gdi32 bindable at
configure time in place of the actual one, on which the dib engine could be
developed. People could choose with configure if to have the old good gdi32 or
the new one with the engine embedded.
IMHO that solution has an advantage (the "new" gdi32, when ready, would require
no additional work to embed the engine) but an huge disadvantage, which is the
ability to quickly switch on or off the engine, which could ease greatly the
testing and debugging phase.
Ciao

To repeat my opinion (See #52), using "winedib.drv" is the wrong direction.
We should use the DDI (Device Driver Interface) between GDI32 and
the Drivers (DDI can be used parallel to our old API).
For this, the DIB implementation must move to GDI32
(the GDI Rendering Engine: Eng* and friends).
That way, we have only one physdev, our code can decide, when to use
Driver rendering, OpenGL acellerated rendering or software rendering.
This direction is required, when we want to support native drivers.
For simple Workstations, this would be printer drivers.
For Workstations in a company, this includes also Mirror Drivers
(for remote control)
We could have other Driver next to winex11.drv very easy
(winesdl.drv anyone ?)

To reproduce the bug, try importing a character twice. To get another similar
crash in the loading screen before the game starts, import only one character
and try to start the game.
Some interesting comparison to other games that use Infinity Engine:
* BG does not have the bug (has older engine version)
* BG2 has the same bug (and probably the same engine version)
* IWD2 has almost same bug (has newer engine version), see bug 14267. Importing
many characters doesn't crash, but starting the game with them crashes just as
here.
Workaround: do not import characters. The games actually work reasonably well.
(Of course, there are some other bugs that cause random crashes for unknown
reasons.)
And no, I'm not going to do any regression testing here, as there's no evidence
that this would be a regression. ;)

So apparently alt-enter makes a newline character in an excel chart. This works
fine when you are entering it, but then it displays as a square box (unknown
character?) instead of a newline in Excel. In Windows running on Virtualbox it
actually makes a new line.

Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne: crashes whenever I try to click "Battle.net". It
does however work when I set the WINEDEBUG prefix to +all (which is very weird
to me), although it works very slow. It seems to work in wine-1.1.13 but after
testing for regressions as specified in the instructions I found nothing.

Expected results: Configure uses /usr/lib32 to search for libraries to be
linked against. Tests append that to their library path and tests succeed.
Actual results: Configure sets LDFLAGS on some level, yet ignores LDFLAGS in
the actual test, pulls the paths from the system, gets /usr/lib and fails
compile tests because there are 64bit libraries in that folder.
I'm not exactly sure which level this can be fixed on (as in, shipping a
configure file might be wrong to begin with, autogen.sh which produces the
configure file and fixing the files out of which configure script is created of
is probably the right course of action), probably requires someone with the
ability to deal with autoconf scripting. The version of configure I tried with
was pulled from git.

many have suggested using another app, this would be very difficult to do as
the features in this program are unmatched by any other...
Many Thanks for making WINE a GREAT product!

I got the code to the point where the existing richedit code can be used. So
now TxDraw can be done using ME_PaintContent, and the width and the height of
the editor can be calculated during wrapping. Nevertheless, the TxDraw and
TxGetNaturalSize methods aren't very straight forward, so lately I haven't had
the time to invest in getting them working right for something like google
talk.
Austin Lund, if you want to try to get something working using the existing
painting functions, then that would be great. I am attaching all the code that
I have that isn't submitted, which is a quick and dirty basic implementation of
TxDraw and TxGetNaturalSize, certainly nothing good enough to submit to
wine-patches, so feel free to not use it at all. At least it shows that the
existing richedit code can be used. It gets text drawn in google talk, but
some text is being wrapped that shouldn't be.

Setting an override for usp10.dll in Word 2007 fixes the Equation Tools, not
the Equation Editor. They are not the same thing. Equation Tools are opened by
clicking Insert->Equation. The Equation Editor is opened by selecting
Insert->Objects->Objects->Microsoft Equation Editor 3.0.
This bug is for the Equation Editor. It is still present in Office 2007 in
1.1.14.

Also, there seems to be good progress on the not connecting issue.
I guess what I'm suggesting is that a semi-working TxDraw implementation would
be good. Is it possible to work in the editor painting functions to make a
semi functional implementation of this function?

Summary: Dragon Naturally Speaking 7: Regression
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.9
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: blocker
Priority: P3
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: mdirk(a)sympatico.ca
Even though I had bought only "Dragon Naturally Speaking 7: Essentials", this
version used to work fine under Wine 1.1.7 . Thus, I had assumed to expect the
behavior to have been improved enough for the Essentials Edition to work from
now on.
But after upgrading Wine to version 1.1.9, a Regression took place. Still
installed properly, and having a user profile for me, DNS 7 no longer works.
The behavior is that after launching, the message appears "Initializing
Dictation". But this message stays, which should get replaced by something
else. For a fraction of a second, the toolbar menus become fully colored, which
would indicate that the program is ready for use. But next, the toolbar becomes
grayed again, and does not respond to input of any kind. The icon indicating
whether the microphone is switched on or not, stays unfilled. And trying to
position the mouse cursor over the toolbar, causes the Linux cursor to
disappear, for which reason the menus can also not be clicked on. Keyboard
shortcuts don't work. The system tray icon also stays unreachable by the mouse,
only displaying a trivial balloon but no menu. The toolbar fails to reposition
itself as it did before, onto any available window awaiting a dictation.
And after about a minute, the application dies.
Trying to re-establish an OSS sound driver audio profile succeeds with the
message that "The sound quality is unacceptable." But then trying to establish
an ALSA sound driver audio profile causes a crash before the new profile gets
saved. In this mode, the main toolbar has already gone into its unresponsive
mode, but control over the app's events is taken care of successfully by more
normal-looking windows.

Graphics regression with rectangles around icons and instead of fonts.
There has been a regression in the display of icons and fonts in Civilization
4: Colonization. Rectangles appear around icons after a little while, and the
fonts are only displayed as rectangles.
Version 1.1.12 works fine, but 1.1.13 and 1.1.14 got the regression.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Sail ship to coast
2. Select pioneer unit
The attached picture shows how the graphics is corrupted.

Summary: Serious Sam TFE lockups and input delays
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.58.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: zarquon(a)t-online.de
Serious Sam TFE will frequently freeze for a short time for no apparent reason,
after which all user input is severely delayed (feels like the time of the
freeze approximately). So you end up pressing a key or moving the mouse and one
or three seconds later Sam moves. In between the freezes, the game is
completely smooth with no hints of stress. Strangely enough, loading such a
game will continue with the delayed input. Sometimes the game appears to catch
up again (I think prolongued time in the console is what does the trick), but
not for long. Resolution doesn't have anything to do with it, the same thing
happens in 640x480 and besides I've played Far Cry and Prey on this machine (in
my standard resolution of 1600x1200) without problems, so I doubt the machine
is too weak. I tried using native dinput.dll and msvcrt.dll, but that didn't
change anything. The game states it uses OpenGL for GeForce2 on my GeForce7900,
could this be a problem? I also tried disabling sound or using other network
devices, but to no avail either. Anything else I can try?
I'm aware of the native Linux ports, but these are highly beta and it doesn't
look like they'll finally be finished one day. They only work in 640x480, you
frequently fall out of the level and need console cheats to get back in, and
other stuff doesn't work at all (like the end fight). I was hoping to finally
be able to play the game as it was meant to be played...

This bug is new to this release, it didn't happen with 1.1.14, after running
WINE apps(Steam and Team Fortress 2 in my case), several(but not all) apps
render blurry fonts that can hardly be read.
I'm using KDE 4.2 RC if this is relevant by any means.
This happens with kickoff(start menu), dolphin, ksnapshot and others, looks
like all Qt apps, but it doesn't happen with Mozilla Thunderbird for example.
I'll do more testing and come back with more info.

Then the question probably should be why exactly the error ist triggered.
Why is (Surf->surface_desc.ddsCaps.dwCaps & DDSCAPS_ZBUFFER) false? Does Seven
Kingdoms really try to attach a non Z buffer surface - and what has to be done
to make the application's operation succeed?

Summary: Winecfg: Drive mapping a directory with utf-8 characters
fails
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.14
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: cybolic(a)gmail.com
When mapping a directory containing utf-8 characters, the symbolic link in
.dosdevices will contain '?''s instead of the proper characters.
F.x. mapping "/media/dævice" will result in a link to "/media/d?vice".
The registry is written correctly though.
Removing the link and replacing it with a correct one will make the drive
mapping work, making this a bug in winecfg.

C's lack of 8-bit binary type causes garbage output. Looking closely, the
memory content 04 10 00 is printed as "^D^P" and in some terminals prints ""
while copy&paste reveals the ^D^P.
Compiling with -O0 eventually reveals *src data > 6, explaining the assertion

eax on audigy/x-fi cards) a wine wrapper from EAX to EFX could let Openal

When trying to install games from Big Fish, I get a warning dialog (see

game. Wine says:
fixme:advapi:CheckTokenMembership ((nil) 0x197b70 0x33ee14) stub!
which I'm guessing is the cause of this. It does this with a range of
Big Fish games, which all seem to share the same installer. The specific
one referenced in the URL is Mystery Case Files: Huntsville.
This is using Fedora 9 on x86_64.

Windows, and with this patch it correctly identifies the OpenGL vendor and
version number.

two +listview logs
So, here are two logs: tooltips.ok.log is log of session when everything went
okay. tooltips.err.log is the log of session when erroneous tooltips appeared.
What was done in both cases: Application launched, link hovered, tooltip
appeared, mouse was moved out of application area. Then, mouse was hovered over
some text (which has no tooltips) and here we had different behaviour, visual
diff will show you that there is quite different behaviour at the end of the
logs. In "ok" case there was no tooltip, in "err" case former tooltip appeared.
Personally, I don't understand well what was different in these launches, just
a matter of few attempts.

I never tried your patch from 7/6/2007 until yesterday. It wouldn't apply
anymore (because the logic in the function had changed, along with the line
numbers), so I applied the changes by hand, using my best judgment. However,
the patch I just submitted, rolled against 1.1.14, fixed my problem (see
comments on the submitted patch for details on 1.1.3, which works). Thanks
again!

Damjan,
Your patch (applied manually to wine version 1.1.3 on gentoo AMD64; some of the
logic had changed around the spot where your patch went, but I was able to
still get it to work) fixed my issue with iGuidance 4 (a GPS navigation
program) talking to my USB GPS receiver. It now works, instead of not being
able to connect to the GPS receiver. I'm going to test it with wine 1.1.13 as
well, since that just went to ~arch recently. Thanks!

winedbg stack trace after splash screen appears, and process is qiuet.
I am running wine 1.0 on an eee pc. Wine installs fine, and I can run notepad
and explorer.
I am trying to install Garmin Mobile PC.
on a 'real' pc, a splash screen appears, then some clickable text
(Install Exit)
in Wine, the splash screen shows up, but no more text, then everything
is quiet. Running this in winedbg, shows the application has made a
call to GetMessageW, as if it were waiting for me to click.
I have probed the splash screen, but can't find the active area.
I realize that this is not 'the most current version'
I considered 'making sure that the libraries were up to date' -
the eee pc is a Xandros release, (Debian based). Running
apt-get build-dev wine suggests that I'll need to install 64 updates,
which worries me a bit.
I ran StraceNT while starting on a real pc, I can attach this if you want, but
it does not appear to be interesting.
the winedbg stack trace appears similarly uninteresting, but I've attached it.

In the last "ExtTextOutW" of the patch, you probably want to add ETO_RTLREADING
to the flags.
RTL text needs to not only be right aligned, it also need to be marked as an
RTL paragraph, or the reordering algorithm gets things catastrophically wrong
when mixed languages are used.

Adds partial RTL support to combobox and listbox
This patch modifies the layout of RTL comboboxes to match that on Windows(see
attachment #19069, the button is to the left), as well as RTL listbox(because
it's used within comboboxes), along with the alignment patch for the combobox
edit, this should look exactly like Windows.
I sent this early version of the patch to let you know I'm working on this,
it's not done yet, please have a look and comment.

reproduce:
- start winrar

You should be in the WinRar directory.
- Hold down Ctrl and select both Order.htm and Readme.txt

Expected result: the "files to add" textbox should have the names of the files
I selected.

looking in its Drivers subdirectory, and running the dpinst.exe

Interestingly, this installer seems to be a standard one that Microsoft
provides in its DDK, or something; see

so it's not just some random installer. Maybe it would be worth looking into.

Trying to use "Impôt Expert", a canadian tax software (in French), version
2008.1201.
Tried with Wine 1.0.1, as packaged by Debian Team.
Installer works, basic forms too, but after entering tax payer ID, application
crash. Last info on console is
fixme:mshtml:HTMLDocument_QueryInterface
(0x19f410)->({df0b3d60-548f-101b-8e65-08002b2bd119} 0x33c740) interface not
supported
followed by a message about unhandled exception (sorry, no verbatim info
available). I'm assuming the software isn't programmed to trap the
E_NOINTERFACE value returned by HTMLDocument_QueryInterface in htmldoc.c
Tried with Wine 1.1.3 from http://winehq.org/download/deblenny
Same result, except that the unhandled exception message is gone.
I tried rebuilding and patching, without success. Apparently, UUID
df0b3d60-548f-101b-8e65-08002b2bd119 is already handled as ISupportErrorInfo in
wine, but just not implemented in mshtml.
After reading http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms714399(VS.85).aspx I
tried patching HTMLDocument_QueryInterface to return S_FALSE instead of
E_NOINTERFACE (increadibly ugly, but just to peek). In that case, Wine crash
with a
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0x4eb79d
(thread 002a), starting debugger...
I'd think that there is no way but to really implement the interface.
Let me know what else I can provide. I'm able to test patches, but as this is
on a P3 with 256MB RAM, it's somewhat painful.

fgets: 'hell

buffer: read 4 buffer[0]: 97 'argh^M' buffer[4]: 13
filepos: 11
with native msvcrt.dll:
fgets: 'hell
'
buffer: read 5 buffer[0]: 97 'argh
' buffer[4]: 10
filepos: 12
where it's going wrong is that it _says_ it's read 4 characters when actually
you asked for 5, on the fread(). that, and you get a \r instead of a \n.
also - note the filepos count - in the native run, it _does_ move along on the
\r\n so it's not the "number of characters returned" that are counted but it's
the "actual position in the real file".

this test demonstrates that msvcrt read, on a newline boundary,
fails to have the crlf converted to lf.
expected results (as confirmed from using msvcrt.dll "native"):
f.readline(5) should equal "hell\n" and instead it is returning
"hell\r".
this simple boundary-case is responsible for virtually every single
one of the remaining python/wine regression test failures!
this should be very easy to replicate in c-code.

Starting with wine version 1.1.8 the DVD-Ripper RipIt4Me stopped working.
RipIt4Me is a front end for DVDDecrypter that kind of "remote controls"
DVDDecrypter.
It seems that the bug prevents RipIt4Me from controlling DVDDecrypter so that
instead of starting to rip it just sits there and does nothing.
While until now I solved this problem for me by not upgrading :) I finally
decided today to try to find the cause by bisecting wine.
The result was the following commit:

I can confirm that RipIt4Me works fine with wine version 1.1.10 after reverting
this patch. The patch doesn't reverse-apply to version 1.1.12, so I didn't test
there (but I checked that the bug still exists in 1.1.12).

Summary: Intermittent deadlock in GDI32 between freetype_cs and
GDI_Level
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.11
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: gdi32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: Paul.Hampson(a)Pobox.com
Running the Warhammer Online patch client (warpatcher.bin) I occasionally see a
deadlock between freetype_cs and GDI_Level critical sections between two of the
threads.
It appears that one thread is in WineEngGetCharWidth holding freetype_cs, and
then calls GDI_AllocObject, descended from GetCharacterPlacementW called by
Gecko.
The other thread is in FONT_SelectObject, and then calls
WineEngCreateFontInstance, descended from a SelectObject call by libpatchui.dll
from warpatcher.bin.
This code in FONT_SelectObject is marked FIXME so I guess this is known as a
potential issue, but I can't see any bugs that specify this as a problem.
On the other hand, it looks to me like WineEngGetCharWidth should probably
somehow have tried to lock the GDI_Level critical section before entering the
freetype_cs critical section, if it is going to call things that might need to
lock GDI_Level.
In this case, the program is trying to display a HTML-skinned interface of some
kind. I'm not sure exactly what it's trying to do, but I can see how it'd have
gecko and GDI running on the same thing.
Bug 16310 comment 9 suggests that it might be being caused by the same thing,
but that's not confirmed there.

This bug occurs in Watchtower Library 2007. Printing functionality works pretty
well, except of one page. All documents in the Library are text files with
simple text formatting, no images. However, there are few help pages that also
could (and recommended to) be printed that do contain images. I've tried
printing various selection parts from these pages, and it is okay until I
select image also.
When the application attempts to print these pages wine crashes with:

In function local_server_thread line 1932, GetOverlappedResult is called with
lpNumberOfBytesTransferred as NULL. The lpNumberOfBytesTransferred param should
not be NULL for this API, even though the value is undefined for NamedPipes.
WINE does check for this in GetOverlappedResult, but seems its not what windows
does as NULL for that parameter causes access violation as long as file handle

Hello,
I am using wine 1.1.5 on my Debian Sid (amd64) and a X1650 ATI Card (fglrx:
8-10, xserver 1.4.2).
I am just playing Max Payne 1 and CS 1.6 (with Steam).
In the game menues (steam, configuration etc) everything is fine, but ingame in
those games the whole keys on the lower keyboard are displaced by one position
to left.
So on x becomes y, n becomes b, ',' becomes m, etc.

Tested with wine 1.1.4 and clean .wine folder. Also a clean Homeworld 2
Installation has been used (... but the problem also occurs with the patched
1.1 version )
First: The In-Game Tutorial works great and I see no glitches at all. 100%
playable.
But when starting the single player campaign the game always crashes during the
"Universe" loading phase. The results vary: Sometimes wine crashes, somtimes it
completly freezes up, etc.
There's no obvious error message in the terminal that could be related to this
error.
... kind of curious that this is rated platinum. Am I the only one having this
problem?
I would like to provide some log files to get to the root of this problem, but
I dont know which would help.

assigns ISO_Level3_Shift as VK_RMENU in X11DRV_InitKeyboard
On Ubuntu 8.04, the right alt key generates ISO_Level3_Shift (keysym ==
0xfe03), which wine doesn't currently recognize as the right alt button. Found
the problem while playing World of Warcraft, where I wasn't able to use the
right alt key to trigger actions mapped to a combination of alt and another
button.
The attached patch changes X11DRV_InitKeyboard to handle ISO_Level3_Shift as
VK_RMENU. This solves the problem for me, but I don't know if it's the proper
way to handle this bug.

I installed Full Tilt Poker from the website, logged in, and went to open a
table. I was confronted with the Bet Slider options, and chose some and
clicked 'ok' and the software crashed.
When I reopened it in wine a second time, attempting to open up any table
caused another crash.
I know that these options were once manually editable through the registry so
I'm not sure if the issue is related to the way in which they update the
registry.
Either way a backtrace is attached.

There are many graphical artifacts in Unreal Tournament 3 that give strange
effects. The character weapon never seems to be displayed (although after
firing, a crazy coloured thing appears in that area). Black or coloured pieces
can appear on the screen (sometimes turning the whole screen black). Character
models seem to be textureless and shiny. Walking backwards produces strange
coloured textures that seem to be your own character model lagging in front of
you a bit. Framerate is also very low.
This is probably reproducible in the UT3 beta demo as well.

There appears to be a couple of minor bugs displaying icons in Dragon

I download the git and install DNS 9.0 Preferred on a daily basis.
For a while now, the program has produced 2 desktop items. One was correct, and
the other was a dummy. Other programs showed the same behavior, including TED
Notepad. (See Screenshot.)
Then last week sometime, WINE stopped producing the correct DNS icon, and
produced only the dummy.
On Fri, May 2, 2008, I downloaded the git and installed Dragon Naturally
Speaking 9.0 again. This time, WINE replaced the menubar shortcut icon with a
wineglass icon.
The icon continues to run the program correctly.
See Screenshot-1.
It also installed the wineglass icon when I tried to install the Sony e-book
reader. (The installation was not successful.)

A Richedit field always wraps lines if they do not fit, even if word wrap has

Steps to reproduce:
Place a RichEdit into the Form of a Delphi project (Delphi 5 in my case). Set
WordWrap in the Object Inspector to false. Put some long text into the Edit
field and change the width of the RichEdit while running the program. The text
still wraps. A simple Memo object behaves (instead) properly if WordWrap is set
to false.
This has the following influence:
If there is a long text in line 0, and an 'A' in line 1. The line 0 gets
wrapped. As result: The comparison
if (richedit.line[1] = 'A') then ...
passes on a Windows machine, but fails on WINE.
I think this Bug has been already in WINE since many versions.

I use Wine 0.9.58 from the repository on my Xubuntu Gutsy machine. The game
installs and starts fine but when I play the application frequently crashes
when taking enemy fire or being killed. If a grenade or explosion sets off
besides me, the application sometimes shows the "Respawn" screen but then
disappears completely. I can't reproduce this reliably. Sometimes I can play
entire sections w/o any problem, sometimes I take one hit from the very first
enemy and Wine crashes. It seems to be connected to display overlay for damage
or something. As long as I walk around and touch nothing everything is fine.
But when I get shot at or stuff is blowing up around me the HUD becomes brown
blocks (Minimap, compass etc. become browinsh squares) for a fraction of a
second and more often than not the game crashes.

Castle Fantasia 2 is unable to play the voices present in data3.dat. Other

clear for sure that the voices are in mp3 format inside the .dat file, so I
think this is an mp3 related bug. Wine itself did not report any errors in
regards to this, and did not notice anything wrong.
One other thing to note, is that I copied over the same installation to windows
and the voices were present, so this is probably a wine-specific error.

When running Every Extend, the models for 'characters', yourself and enemies,
do not appear. Effects, such as explosions and text, do work, as long as wine
is run from inside the directory (ie, 'wine /path/to/executable.exe' does not,
but 'cd /path/to/ && wine executable.exe' works), they are even more abstracted
if it is not for some reason. Terminal output gives a lot of
fixme:d3dxof:IDirectXFileImpl_RegisterTemplates lines (attached).
Works fine with a native d3dxof.dll, however.
