No!
It still hangups (((
strace shows me that process is working, but there is some kind of loop
there is a lot of info, it's hard to deal with it
winedbg can't attach to that process with error = 5 (ACCESS_DENIED)
winedbg --minidump hangups (I waited about 5 minutes - nothing happened)
(I tried with process c:\CS\hl.exe itself, may be I should use some another?)
how can I get the backtrace?

Hi, this is my first Wine bug report.
Same thing here. I'm using wine-1.0-rc4 under Kubuntu 8.04 X86_64 and trying
install IE7.
I guess it's important:
fixme:clusapi:GetNodeClusterState ((null),0x32ec9c,0) stub!
Best regards,
Alexandre

It doesn't work for me. It still keeps trying "publishing vba feature" which
gives following crash :
fixme:msi:ITERATE_PublishAssembly Win32 assemblies not handled
err:msi:ACTION_CallDllFunction Custom action
(L"C:\\windows\\temp\\msibb7c.tmp":L"softwareEmulation") caused a page fault:

and, after some fixmes :
wine: Critical section 7e575bc0 wait failed at address 0x7bc3a9f0 (thread
0033), starting debugger...
err:seh:raise_exception Unhandled exception code c0000194 flags 0 addr

(pasted here because it's very short!)
Here las autocad setup log lines :
Feature: Tutorials
Feature: VLT
Feature: VBA
Action 16:26:39: PublishProduct. Publishing product information...
Action 16:26:39: PublishProduct. Publishing product information...
Action start 16:26:39: RemoveExistingProducts.
Action ended 16:26:39: RemoveExistingProducts. Return value 0.
It seems that we've got different autocad versions.
I guess it's time to try to solve this vba error.... it's there from autocad
2004 up to 2007 for sure.

Hi, with the following workaround i got at least the trial starting:
1. Start with clean ~/.wine
2. Do 'wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks && sh winetricks msxml3 dotnet20'
(Though Autocad2006 claims it needs .net 1.1, you get a crash updating a hotfix
in the installer; so don't install .net 1.1, but do .net 2.0, that is enough to
make the installer happy)
3. Start the installer, and choos custom install, and deselect "VBA" otherwise
the installer will crash later on.
Could you try if this works for you too? Then we could add downloadlink for the
trial

Summary: iexplore.exe uses 100% CPU on https websites only
Product: Wine
Version: 1.0-rc4

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P3
Component: kernel32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: bdkoepke(a)gmail.com
Using either the ies4linux script or installing internet explorer natively,
with any version of wine > 0.9.52 causes wineserver and iexplore.exe to consume
100% cpu. After closing wine, (even on a multicore cpu), wineserver spikes to
100%. This only occurs on https websites. Versions of wine 0.9.52 and less all
work correctly (tested down to 0.9.46). I ran regression tests on wine and
found that the patch that causes this problem was

I got a working solution to this problem, now I am attacking the probably as
hard problem to get the solution into clean, obviously correct, parts to get it
included into Wine 1.0. I attach a patch that is needed in addition to the
tentative patch already present to get Easy Grade Pro display correct vertical
labels.

It runs perfectly fine in Halo for me until I reach an area where my FPS goes
through the roof which causes the mouse to become "sticky" (where it keeps
stopping randomly and I have to move it around heavily to get it unstuck from
places).

Don't know about Halo but my other test games still have this problem. It
really depends on the timing so it's no surprise that it works for some and
totally busted for others.

Hi I did a quick search in the bugtracker system but was unable to find my
problem. I installed wine 1.0-rc3 in Xubuntu 8.04. I followed steps as shown on
http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb . However when I want to Browse my C

The URL "~/.wine/drive_c" is not supported. ". In " /home/myname/.wine/ I have
following permissions: drwxrwxrwx 4 myname myname 4096 2008-06-04 18:56

reported in Kubuntu, EDUbuntu (and perhaps Ubuntu). I will go ahead and google
as well.

Looking at it from a developer's point of view, it is really, really hard to
fix this on X11, as it's just very different from Windows in that particular
area. Looking at the age of the bug, I think it shows that this one is hard to
fix.
Now, there's two ways to make this better. First of all, you could go and help
with Wine programming. Secondly, you could pay someone to fix it. Adding more
"Can somebody please fix it" comments on the bug is not going to help at all.
We _know_ it's an issue. We _know_ StarCraft is still a very popular game.
(Heck, some of us play it as well) It's just a huge amount of work to fix that
one correctly and we don't currently have enough developer time to throw at
this.

I will also attach a picture of the error message.

unable to browse for .fla files when using flash 8 or unable to open
I'm unable to browse flash 8 .flas. When trying to open .flas nothing shows up
in the directory window for me to open. Even when doing an all files directory
listing. This happens intermittently. This is a pc with wine 0.9.59 and kubuntu
7.10.
When I am able to browse .flas, I get an error when trying to open them.
I've even copied the .flas to the wine drive_c folder to see if that would make
a difference but it didn't. All of the .flas that I have are in file format
flash 8 or earlier. I even tried another pc with 8.04 installed and that didn't
make a difference. Oh yeah, I can create and open new files from scratch but
can't open existing ones from flash and cartooning books for tutorials that I
need to work on. I'll try opening the same files on a windows xp laptop but I'm
pretty sure I won't have a problem on the xp machine.
* Update: I'm able to open the files using a xp machine.
Using Kubuntu 8.04 and wine 1.0 RC3 I still can't get .flas from 2+ animation
books to open.
I tried Macromedia flash 8.0 and a trial version of flash mx.
Both flash programs give me the same error.
Wine .0.9.59 and 1.0 give the same error.

I'm testing some applications in Xubuntu 7.04 with Wine 0.43 from repositories,
I tested three programs of my interest: eMule Plus, Online Sig and XMR.
Of these, just XMR (a VB6.0 program) was able to place the icon in the systray

I tested the same programas in Kubuntu and it was fine, so I assume it's
something with XFCE (tested with version XFCE 4.4)
I guess if this is normal (XFCE already not full supported by design?) or this
is a bug, so I open this bug so you decide.

Console Output
DCArt32 gives the error "ERROR: The wavefile contains a format is not supported
by DC-Art." when any of its numerous audio filters are run. See the attachment
for the resulting console output. The most interesting line is
err:mmio:MMIO_ParseExtA No . in szFileName: "" which makes me very suspicious
that this is a mmio bug.
To reproduce:
1) Start DCArt32
2) Open demo1.wav in Program Files\Diamond Cut Productions\wavefile
3) From the filter menu select "Continuous Noise..."
3) On the filter dialog press "Run Filter" - the error dialog will appear.

Images can instead be loaded by using the wizard, and manually typing in their

location such as "Z:\" the application warns that the file does not exist, and
asks if you want to locate the file, clicking yes results in the file browser

Driver: NVidia Linux driver 169.12
Half Life 2 doesn't start using wine version 0.9.61, works fine with 0.9.59.
Steam.exe opens up as expected, I can choose the Game and start it there. The
"starting game" message displays just fine. Then, the screen blinks for the
fraction of a second and nothing more happens. I am not able to see or move the
mouse pointer. When I change the focused window with Alt+Tab, the cursor
reappears and everything is normal again. "Half Life 2" shows in the taskbar.
Nothing more happens - if I click on the taskbar entry, the cursor disappears
again. I can kill the Half Life 2 process and return to a functional Steam.
A logfile with WINEDEBUG=-all is attached, but there are not much entries in
it.

This is a different one.
When installing The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, when the
installer gets to choose components the check box's are not visible, but you
can get them to become visible.
1. Remove your .wine dir
2. cd in to the install dir and wine setup.exe (wine will make its dir stuff
see log1)
3. The installer loads up fine and the check boxes are visible and you can
start installing the game but because you have not setup you cdrom drive in
winecfg you carn't use wine eject so you are unable to continue with the
install. (see pic one)
4. Run winecfg and map you cdrom drive
5. Run the setup agane and now the check boxes are no longer visible. (see pic
two and log2)
Because now the check boxes are no longer visible the installer wont install
anything and tells you that the install is complete.
Thanks guys

Renegade FDS server.ini
The Renegade Free Dedicated Server is a program that enables the hosting of a
C&C Renegade server. When launched, it should start a separate console, change
color, and display text, while reading in input which is interpreted as
commands. When running the Renegade FDS under Wine via wineconsole
--backend=user server.dat, a separate console is launched, but the color does
not change, and no text is outputted. No output in the terminal where the
wineconsole command was invoked is present. To install the FDS, download the
installer, and when prompted for user/password/serial, the user/password can be
made up, and the serial can be made up, but must start with 0669. Use this
particular server.ini, which should be placed in the installation directory's
Server directory, for testing purposes. The actual binary that launches the
server is server.dat, in the Server directory.

I tried changing some line no 623 in wintab.c before compiling also, according

Summary: ./tools/wineinstall adds /usr/local/lib to

Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.49.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: wine-binary
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: fry.kun(a)gmail.com
It appears that running ./tools/wineinstall (the recommended install method for
source installs) adds "/usr/local/lib" to /etc/ld.so.conf
As I understand it, this is not a proper default and should be avoided.
Personally, I've grappled for a week with a bug from dual python installation
(stock /usr/ and custom /usr/local/) where stock python would attempt to
dynamically load /usr/local/lib/libpython2.5.so.1.0 - this caused a lot of
errors with system programs/etc.
Tracing the source of the bad entry in /etc/ld.so.conf led me to wine
installer.

Summary: acmStreamConvert inconsistencies (Windows Vs Wine for
mp3 -> pcm)
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.55.
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: msacm32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: lightning_uk(a)imgburn.com
When attempting to convert MP3 to PCM (Stereo, 44100Hz, 16bit - for burning to
a disc) the acmStreamConvert function (working synchronously) does not work as
expected (doesn't do what Windows does).
The 'cbSrcLengthUsed' value within the ACMSTREAMHEADER structure is not updated
with the correct value (or the wrong amount of data is actually used).
When 'cbSrcLength' and 'cbDestLength' are set to the same value (in my case,
75264), after conversion 'cbSrcLengthUsed' is always being set to the entire
size of the source buffer (75264) rather than the amount of the source buffer
that was actually used to create the content in the destination buffer.
Windows behaviour on first two calls to acmStreamConvert...
D 10:41:06 FileSize: 5339011
D 10:41:06 CurrentFileBytesRead: 75264
D 10:41:06 cbSrcLength: 75264
D 10:41:06 cbSrcLengthUsed: 16343
D 10:41:06 cbDstLength: 75264
D 10:41:06 cbDstLengthUsed: 73728
D 10:41:06 FileSize: 5339011
D 10:41:06 CurrentFileBytesRead: 91607
D 10:41:06 cbSrcLength: 75264
D 10:41:06 cbSrcLengthUsed: 10031
D 10:41:06 cbDstLength: 75264
D 10:41:06 cbDstLengthUsed: 73728
Wine behaviour on first two calls to acmStreamConvert...
D 10:33:22 FileSize: 5339011
D 10:33:22 CurrentFileBytesRead: 75264
D 10:33:22 cbSrcLength: 75264
D 10:33:22 cbSrcLengthUsed: 75264
D 10:33:22 cbDstLength: 75264
D 10:33:22 cbDstLengthUsed: 73728
D 10:33:22 FileSize: 5339011
D 10:33:22 CurrentFileBytesRead: 150528
D 10:33:22 cbSrcLength: 75264
D 10:33:22 cbSrcLengthUsed: 75264
D 10:33:22 cbDstLength: 75264
D 10:33:22 cbDstLengthUsed: 73728
Applications are supposed to move the source buffer on by 'cbSrcLengthUsed'
bytes after each call to acmStreamConvert.
The source buffer is therefore being used up far too quickly and the conversion
is considered complete long before it actually is.

If Andrew or anyone else will have time and hardware for this, there are a few
things that would be interesting to try to get more insight about this bug.
First, what happens if setting DirectDrawRenderer=opengl in registry (probably,
the problem then should occur immediately after starting the game without
pressing anything). Second, what happens in ddraw visual conformance test
(that's cd dlls/ddraw; make test) with DirectDrawRenderer=opengl. Third, are
there any similar problems with similar games (like System Shock 2 that's
derived from same engine) or games that also do lots of render target locking
(starcraft, C&C - red alert 1). Demos of the above mentioned games are
available for download on many sites.

"Austin,
In reference to the bug you closed, here is a link to the game in question,
Silkroad Online.
http://www.silkroadonline.net. I believe you have to create an account on
the website (for free) to download and install the game (for free). I have
forgotten my winehq password and account info, and I do not use this gmail
account regularly, but I thought I'd point out the game for you anyway.
If you do test it out, log into one of the new servers like Venus. It is
easier to log into than an older server like Xian or Venice.
I haven't noticed the 'freezing' problem as much, but it does still occur
from time to time. It may be just my video card overheating, but I'm not
sure. If you have any other questions, you can contact me at
wshaffer(a)gmail.com
Thanks,
Wayne"

I try to use wine on Fedora 9 (i386 and x86 on two different machines) but

After this solutions I can use wine and every application I try, just works:

pass -fno-unit-at-a-time to gcc (wihout this many applications simply don't
start, gtuner and Ice Wind Dale 2 for example)
and before compilation: ulimit -s unlimited (without this compile crashes)
But sometimes (not often), when I use windows app (Photoshop CS2, PowerIso...)
all system crash and no response. No ctrl+alt+backspace, ctrl+alt+delete, only
hard reset. I don't now where I can get some logs after crash like that, but
this stops me from use wine... who works perfectly without this crashes :(
Please help me fix this, I think maybe this is gcc 4.3 fault, but where?

Currently there are still short but annoying freezes/lags in main menu when
game becomes non-responding and sounds stops for a short while. Just as the
original report states similar things happen in XP w/ DirectX9. Much shorter
than 10-15 sec though, but this could depend on how fast the machine is.

I've got a TomTom One XL, and like to help.
I've got Wine 1.0-rc2 from Debian Lenny. Installed TomTom Home 2 (2.3.0.70)
fine. When plugging in TomTom the driver is autodetected as G:\ and pops up in
Wine File.
No detection in TomTom Home though.
I've got the device working normally on a Windows2000 installation, so I can
get registry info there if needed.
What can I do to produce useful information?
Up to now I've only discovered the /.xsession-errors file, so I could use some
hints :-)

Is there any progress in this bug? I have issues in Call of Duty 1.5 which look
very much like what is described here. The mouse doesn't move jerky, but the
speed varies. Why I try to move the cursor around, it's very difficult to make
a good circle, because the cursor speed is variable. This of course also
interferes with the headshots.
It started happening only recently, in one of the release candidates of Wine,
but I don't know which one.
Also, switching to native dinput(8) doesn't help (suggested in other bug). In
fact, even disabling the library doesn't change anything, leading me to believe
the library configuration isn't picked up on by Call of Duty. I use the Loki
version of CoD, which simply is a wrapper script for wine, it should still use
my normal Wine config.

Yes, it is still an issue. The code in dlls/user32/dialog.c still does not
repost the WM_QUIT message. I have not checked the other source code locations.
Please read the blog post that I mentioned in comment 7 to understand the
problem.

Summary: Syberia2 almost freezes when clicking on the bellows of
the candle machine
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.46.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P5
Component: wine-programs
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: denis(a)carolo.net
I just played the game Syberia 2.
It went quite alright apart from a strange behavior at one moment :
when in the monastery, clicking on the bellows of the candle machine, the game
almost freezes. I mean, it seems all frozen, but when you wait long enough, you
see your cursor coming back. Then you are still able to move and make actions,
but it's very, very, very slow.
At the end, when you click to open the little box with the candle, everything
start to work alright again.
That's the only one problem I had with this game.
Ubuntu Feisty 7.10, official distrib Wine version (0.9.46) and official CD's of
Syberia 2.
Thanks for your job.

Summary: Cinema 4D 8.0 & Cinema 4D 8.2 Completely fail to run on
Wine 0.9.49
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.49.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: wine-files

error report copied from terminal onto gedit text file
Other 3D brands of 3D programs run but his version of the Maxon's Cinema 4D
program has never run on Wine. I'd love to see you guys get Wine to a place
where Cinema 4D R8.2 will run. Maxon's Cinema 4D R8.0 & R8.2 both completely
fail to run. When attempting to run all that happens is an error report in
terminal and nothing else. I'm using Ubuntu 7.04, the official nVidia drivers,
and Wine 0.9.49. Also changing Windows versions in the Applications settings of
the Wine Configuration for Cinema 4D has no effect on it. I'm not much good
with this stuff but I'd love so see if you can achieve full Windows
compatibility so I'm reporting this in hopes the data will be found to be
useful. Thank you for this amazing Wine software.
(see attatchment for error message on text file)

Ivan, please respond via bugzilla, not via e-mail.
Via e-mail:
Sorry I have no idea where that CD may be so I can't test it
I'm going to resolve the bug abandoned. If you find the CD and still have this
problem, please reopen.
