I am having trouble with Morrowind after the last patch. I was using 9.48 and
Morrowind played fine. I just installed 9.49 and the game locks after about 35
minutes and the sound hangs when creating a new character. I have no inventory
portrait or map but that is an old issue. I am mainly worried about the game
locking up and the sound hangs.

However, I don't receive in-game chat messages from anyone else but the host. I
also don't receive Signals from anyone else but the host. I can send messages

Downgrading to 0.9.45 fixes the issue.

Summary: Segmentation fault when using nvidia 32bit compatibility
OpenGL libraries with 64-bit driver
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.46.
Platform: PC-x86-64
URL: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=563566
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: wine-opengl
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: woodman810(a)yahoo.com
Forgive me this is my first bug report.
This bug seems to only appear in these condidtions:
64-bit Linux
Nvidia GeForce 8 Series with 64-bit drivers
Proprietary drivers are installed before wine
I kept getting "Segmentation fault (core dumped)" error messages when trying to
run winecfg for the first time. After some extensive troubleshooting I was
able to isolate the problem. By reinstalling the nvidia drivers without the
OpenGL 32-bit compatibility libraries, I was then able to run winecfg, notepad
and regedit without any problems. Of course I need those libraries to use WINE
to play some 3D games.
Some have been able to work around this issue by installing and configuring
WINE before they install their video card drivers. For more information I put
the URL to the forum thread above (I hope that the right spot).
I should also note I am using the 64-bit WINE package.

I recently upgraded from two nvidia 7900GTS cards in SLI to two 8600GTS cards,
still in SLI.
Since doing so, textures outside my immediate area (not sure how to describe...
30 or so game yards?) are drawn slowly. Moving forward I see terrain and
objects drawn without any texture (just grey) then slowly the textures fade in.
I run WoW in opengl mode, I tried to switch over to d3d, but the game runs so
poorly that I really couldn't determine if the issue was apparent there as
well.
I reported this to nvidia
(http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=100893) and they felt that
(since it apparently doesn't happen in Windows) I should report it here as
well.
I apologize for not having a whole ton of other information. :(
Anything I can do to be more helpful, please let me know.

1. boot Halflife 2 episode 2, or any game for that matter (I used the previous)
2. start a new game - make sure your speakers are on and you ear all sounds and
music loud and clear
3. use your quick access keys on your keyboard to change sound volume, or try
to change it using your desktop sound volume applet (if you can alt+tab back
and forth)
What should happen:
- the sound volume of the game should respect the desktop's configured value
set by the user. Currently, the sound volume is always at (around) maximum.
This is hardly a sound driver bug or desktop environment bug.

Version: 0.9.48.
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: wine-opengl
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ambro(a)b4ever.net
3D apps don't seem to run when the OpenGL lib (e.g. mesa one) is doing indirect
rendering (hardware accelerated, through AIGLX). This can be done by exporting
LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1. Native games (quake3, xmoto) run fine. I've tried
FlatOut 2 with indirect rendering, but I get hundreds these in the console:
err:wgl:X11DRV_wglGetProcAddress No libGL on this box - disabling OpenGL
support !
and the game crashes then.
Indirect rendering would probably be useful if one would want to play a game
on a remote X server, or a game residing on a remote host and doing rendering
on the user's X server.

I'm developing an appication and I was testing for wine compatibility, when I
came upon this bug.
I'm not a native English speaker, so allow me to say it by example:
Suppose I have a classic "File" menu (I think menus are implemented in
comctl32.dll), and the classic "Open file..." menu item. It shows like:
| Open file... Ctrl+O |
If I assign the VK_PAUSE shortcut to this menuitem, it should show like:
| Open file... Pause |
The problem: if I use the VK_PAUSE shortcut, and I try to open the file menu, I
get a protection fault at address 0x000033F3.
This also applies to combinations like shift+pause.
Tested in Edubuntu 7.10.
I can post a demo application developed in Delphi if it helps.
Regards,
Alkis

After installing Wine, I install Bryce 5, and it goes fine. A strange thing
happens during install...whenever I click on "Next," the screen disappears,
then reappears, but then quickly goes to the next screen...this is trivial
though.
The install works fine, but when I attempt to run the program, I see "starting
Bryce 5" in the taskbar for a few moments, but then it just disappears and the
program does not start. There is no trace of the process in the system
monitor, zombied or otherwise.
I understand that it seems to work in most cases, save some other bugs, and I
have duplicated this problem both on Ubuntu 7.10, and on Linux Mint (which I am
running now), which is basically Ubuntu 7.10 with thicker makeup, so I'm
thinking it is related to that release.

I use a Portuguese dictionary named Houaiss. I can install and use it perfectly

program. When I try to run the installer, a warning window pops up with a
message that says I must have an original copy, although I have an original

".wine" folder, the problem ends.

Hi there,
I've just installed RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and game works fine i think. Now i
tried to install the Expansion pack Soaked and Game crashes an loading menu!
For normal game without expansion you need also WM9 or 10 to be installed!
Done it like this Guide said and it worked ->

I will attach my complete console output! Maybe it helps!

Beginning with version 0.9.42, Turbocad LE freezes on attempting to open a file
and the program will not shut down. Kwin must be used to terminate the program
following a "window fails to respond" warning.
The problem is in libwine, downgrading libwine to a version lower than 0.9.42
(all else same) solves the problem.
I have tested using libwine 0.9.42, 43 and 44. I cannot test higher than 0.9.44
as that is the highest Debian package currently available and I am never
successful trying to compile from source.
Debug log file is attached.
Note that this is using native msvcrt.dll as in the apps database for this
application.

Hi,
I'm running kubuntu 7.10.
If I run World of Warcraft this way:
- boot from cd (kubuntu 7.10), install wine
- install kubuntu 7.10, install wine
everithing is ok.
If I add some packages (investigating wich one) I can log in with wow but my
loading bar is stuck to 0% (manual reboot bevcause everything freeze, keyboard
led indicators too)
I'm pretty sure is an incompatibility with a package, I re installed many times
and I'm searching for a good tool to manage versions of packages.
I'm a graphic so I need many packages to be installed.
I'm investigating about the package (installing one, trying wow...) so is a bit
slow the search...
I mean gimp, inkscape and so on... vlc blah blah... many.
I hope to be useful...
I tried everything in wow configuration (defaultation...)
I tried every hardware card/mb to be sure nothing was wrong...
I tried 0.9.46 - 50 versions of wine...
Everytime the same stuff...
Using Adeptmanager I install all needed packages in one time and the "crash"
happen.
Need to say that the sound still play during the freeze. (But I don't play wow
for the music :P)
I hope to put my bug in the right place and I hope to come later to say
"this was the f@#!!ing package messing up my wine-wow-kubuntu installation"..
If you can send me to a same bug pls write down me some email, I'l be very
happy.
Cya!

The mouse cursor disappears in each wine window, for each application.
I am using wine-0.9.47 . All programs running under wine don't have
a mouse cursor in the applications window: winecfg, notepad.exe,
regedit.exe etc. When mouse cursor (little arrow) enters the wine window,
the cursor disappears. When it moves outside, it occures.
Maybe it is caused by using the openchrome video
driver "via". I downloaded it from the site
http://www.logix.cz/michal/devel/suse-openchrome .
I am using OpenSuse10.2 on the notebook Fujitsu Siemens
Amilo Pro V2030, video card is Via(S3) Unichrome Pro IGP (VN800).
This problem doesn't exist on the PC with another graphical card.
The version of KDE is 3.5.5 "release 45.4",
the version of kernel is 2.6.18.8-0.5 .
I added a trace file from starting notepad.exe .
Thanks for any advice

Summary: Null pointer de-reference playing half-life 2: wine
kernel bug?
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.49.
Platform: PC-x86-64

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-kernel
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: phil(a)kantaka.co.uk
Created an attachment (id=9272)

backtrace from winedbg
I've got about half-way through HL2 (all with 0.9.49) and the game has suddenly
started crashing on startup with a null pointer exception. It's worked fine up
to now!
Is this crash in the wine code? I'm not familiar with winedbg. Backtrace etc
attached, happy to do any other suggested tests.
Other Source games are still working fine; Portal works (with the fglrx radeon
driver -- the r300 driver doesn't have fragment shaders & I think that's
breaking it, it refuses to start).
Error trace attached
cheers, Phil

I've tried seting winecfg to use ALSA alone, and tried it with using OSS (using
ALSA-OSS emulation).
1. When using ALSA, sound works fine, but when I alt+tab out, sound is lost.
And when I alt+tab out of World of Warcraft, it refuses to give up the focus
and let me switch to another window.
2. When using OSS, sound doesn't work at all.
3. When using wine 0.9.41, WoW works perfectly, and can alt+tab perfectly fine

working fine in 0.9.50, but no longer works in 0.9.50. This is with the OSS

There was no specific information regarding the error. It just pops up a box
saying that it cannot play the sound.
I have reverted back to 0.9.49 since there are other issues as well ( I can't
install apps I used to be able to install ).

Summary: Guild Wars: Directional character shadows are not
rendered.
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.51.
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P4
Component: wine-directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: hoppq(a)mbnet.fi
Under Wine, Guild Wars does not render directional shadows for characters (or
renders them incorrectly so they are not seen at all, to the end user it's the
same). In Guild Wars, drawing of shadows is controlled by "Shadow quality"
setting in Graphics options, "Medium" should render a directional shadow for
the player's character, "High" should render them for all nearby
characters/NPCs.
As a side note: Cedega (version 6.0.3) does not render them either by default,
but Cedega provides an option in its settings called "Fragment Offset" (the
tooltip for it reads: "Apply fragment translation in vertex program"), setting
it to "Tex" makes Cedega render shadows correctly.
This is on Nvidia driver version 1.0-9639, 7600GS card. In the past the
behavior was the same on newer driver versions as well, I happen to run that
version due to it being packaged by Mandriva and it's lacking the bugs of 100.x
and newer series.

Summary: Change to modern Windows colours - not enough
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.50.
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: wine-user
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: bammzilla(a)gabriana.com
While I appreciate (and love) the patch by Alexander Nicolaysen Sørnes
entitled "user32: Change to modern Windows colours", I think the change is not
enough.
I did a fresh install of Windows XP, and compared the colors found in the patch
for DefSysColors to the Windows XP registry key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control
Panel\Colors" and found that the following still need to be changed:
"ActiveTitle" from "0 0 128" to "10 36 106"
"ButtonDkShadow" from "0 0 0" to "64 64 64"
"ButtonLight" from "224 224 224" to "212 208 200"
"GradientActiveTitle" from "16 132 208" to "166 202 240"
"GradientInactiveTitle" from "181 181 181" to "192 192 192"
"Hilight" from "0 0 128" to "10 36 106"
"MenuHilight" from "0 0 0" to "10 36 106"
In addition, Windows XP's registry contains the following entries not found in
Wine's DefSysColors function:
"ButtonAlternateFace"="181 181 181"
"HotTrackingColor"="0 0 128"
"InfoBorder"="41 3 2"
"InfoText"="0 0 0"
"InfoWindow"="255 255 225"
Although Wine does not use the additions yet, it might be useful to have them
too in case future enhancements to Wine needs them.
I also suggest that the entries be arranged alphabetically for people browsing
the code to easily find what they are looking for.
I therefore suggest the following content for the DefSysColors function,
properly alphabetized:
static const char * const DefSysColors[] =
{
"ActiveBorder", "212 208 200", /* COLOR_ACTIVEBORDER */
"ButtonAlternateFace", "181 181 181" /* COLOR_BUTTONALTERNATEFACE */
"ActiveTitle", "0 0 128", /* COLOR_ACTIVECAPTION */
"AppWorkSpace", "128 128 128", /* COLOR_APPWORKSPACE */
"Background", "0 128 128", /* COLOR_BACKGROUND */
"ButtonDkShadow", "0 0 0", /* COLOR_3DDKSHADOW */
"ButtonFace", "212 208 200", /* COLOR_BTNFACE */
"ButtonHilight", "255 255 255", /* COLOR_BTNHIGHLIGHT */
"ButtonLight", "224 224 224", /* COLOR_3DLIGHT */
"ButtonShadow", "128 128 128", /* COLOR_BTNSHADOW */

"GradientInactiveTitle", "181 181 181", /* COLOR_GRADIENTINACTIVECAPTION */
"GrayText", "128 128 128", /* COLOR_GRAYTEXT */
"Hilight", "0 0 128", /* COLOR_HIGHLIGHT */
"HilightText", "255 255 255", /* COLOR_HIGHLIGHTTEXT */
"HotTrackingColor", "0 0 128" /* COLOR_HOTTRACKINGCOLOR */
"InactiveBorder", "212 208 200", /* COLOR_INACTIVEBORDER */
"InactiveTitle", "128 128 128", /* COLOR_INACTIVECAPTION */
"InactiveTitleText", "212 208 200", /* COLOR_INACTIVECAPTIONTEXT */
"InfoBorder", "41 3 2" /* COLOR_INFOBORDER */
"InfoText", "0 0 0" /* COLOR_INFOTEXT */
"InfoWindow", "255 255 225" /* COLOR_INFOWINDOW */
"Menu", "212 208 200", /* COLOR_MENU */

Summary: Max Payne 1.05 - T-junction-like graphic bugs
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.45.
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: liquid.acid(a)gmx.net
Hi there,
I recently installed Max Payne on Wine and I'm now in the progress of playing
the entire game on my Linux machine. It works fine but I encountered some
graphical bugs.
The bug is somehow like the old t-junction errors (I know them from my
half-life mapping experiences), causing single flashing pixels of some odd
color at points where game geometry is put together. Most of the time at
polygon edges. This errors appear nearly everywhere in the game, sometimes you
hardly notice them, but sometimes they are very intense.
I know for sure that when I played the game on my Windows machine there we no
t-junction errors at all.
I would like to supply some screenshots to illustrate the problem, but the
integrated screenshot functionality doesn't seem to work. It simply outputs a
completly black TGA file. I'm going to file another bugreport for this one.
Any idea how to get a screenshot with another method?

Wine v0.9.49 rendering Civ4: Beyond the Sword v3.13's world overview
incorrectly
Firaxis' turn-based strategy game Civilization 4 is played on a 3D game board
modelling the surface of a planetoid. When the camera is close to the ground,
the curvature of the planetoid is not discernable. When zooming out, i.e.
moving the camera away from the ground, the landscape gradually morphs into a
sphere.
While Wine 0.9.49 renders the landscape correctly in all areas of the game
board when the camera is close to the ground, at some point when moving the
camera further out parts of the surface stop being rendered or lit correctly.
Areas of the map that should be brightly rendered are dark, with a hard
transition between the correctly and the incorrectly rendered areas of the
sphere. There does not appear to be a relationship between the demarcation line
and the game logic, as it doesn't follow the game's fog-of-war or border
simulation systems.
Tested releases include 0.9.38, 0.9.44, 0.9.48 and 0.9.49. The problem exists
in all of them. I have reason to believe, based on experiences while bisecting
for an unrelated bug (#9736), that there exists a git revision between 0.9.44
and 0.9.49 where the problem is not apparent, but have so far been unable to
reproduce and track down that revision again.
The Wine configuration is fairly untouched. The Windows version is set to
Windows 2000. Pixel and vertex shader support is enabled. Microsoft's MSXML 3
was installed and related DLL overrides added, which is necessary to run the
game.
The tested version of the game is the very latest, namely "Civilization 4:
Beyond the Sword" at patch level 3.13. "Beyond the Sword" is the second
commercial expansion/upgrade pack to the original title, and the preferred
version to play the game.
Testing was undertaken using nVidia's proprietary graphics driver in version
100.14.19 on a GeForce 8800 GTX, with X.org v7.3 (xorg-server v1.4) and Linux
v2.6.23.1. The distribution is Gentoo Linux.

brief notes and a dinput trace
After updating from wine version 0.9.42 to 0.9.46, the game; F/A-18 PSF no
longer responds to joystick movement. I downloaded, built, and installed 0.9.47
and got the same failure. My joystick is a Microsoft Sidewinder attached via
USB. It shows up as /dev/js0, /dev/input/js0, and /dev/input event3.
Permissions are set to 655 (read/execute). The joystick buttons work correctly.
jscal and jstest work correctly. The short trace (attached) indicates that wine
recieved the stick movement correctly. The only thing in the trace that looked
out of place was a message that the GUID of the joystick was invalid.

Hi there,
I'm suffering problem this problem since updating my foobar2000 version from
0.9.4.3 to 0.9.4.4. I didn't test this with the 0.9.4.5 beta on the fb2k
webpage.
The problem is that when editing tagging information clicking on the edit
fields doesn't allow me anymore to edit them. I can click but nothing happens.
There should however appear a cursor in the edit field to allow modidying the
tags.
I'm going to attach a screenshot this evening to show which edit fields I mean
and what is supposed to happen when clicking them.
This problem appears both in wine 0.9.45 and 0.9.46

Summary: Certain graphics not showing up when vertex shader on

Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.44.
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: een_meel_of_geen_meel(a)hotmail.com
If I turn the hardware "vertex shader support" and "pixel shader" on, I don't
get the overlay level that shows cities, resources and what a tile will net if
it is worked on, both when selecting a settler/worker and inside the city-view.
Also, only the borders generated by towns is shown (selecting a settler or
worker should generate a lot of different visuals, but none are shown) and
theres no cursor-thingy.
The screenshots show the difference between both situations.
Curiously, the deer in the upper left corner are shown, while the fish and
sugarcane in the middle & right are NOT shown (moving the screen had no
effect). Also, I'm holding down my left mousebutton in the screenshot with
vertex shader on hardware and pixel shader on. Apparently, the "goto cursor"
also completely disappears here, as well as all the other visuals paired with
selecting a move-to location/ having the unit selected.
If I turn off pixel shader support, but leave hardware vertex shader on, almost
everything becomes black.
If I set vertex shader to 'none', it does not matter what the pixel shader is
set to. (vertex shader off screenshot).
System:
Gentoo-sources 2.6.22-r2
x86_64
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+
GCC: 4.2.0
GFX card: xfx Geforce 7800 GT, driver-version: 100.14.11
- The same issue lives in wine-0.9.46 (but even here, the deer are fully drawn
with vertex shader set to hardware, as opposed to the blackness without
hardware vertex shader.)
- There is no visible difference in debug output between settings.
If Additional info is needed, let me know.

Crash when no DirectInput key exists
There's a problem with some games (including Rayman 3 and THPS3) which seems to
be caused by this patch:
dinput: Add a helper function to open configuration registry keys.
commit 8ff85c08b6bbf45b58fbbc1d374f5e1c051eda2f
When no DirectInput key exists and a gamepad is plugged in these games crash
(they work when no gamepad is plugged in though). Manually creating an empty
DirectInput key fixes this.
I'll attach a log.

Summary: Application UDPixel dosn't work (Mono related?)

Hi!
UDPixel (http://udpix.free.fr/) a program for removing dead pixels in a
TFT-screen dosn't work.
The program come in two variants:
* Ver 2.2 (Needs Microsoft .NET Framework 2)
* Ver 2.1 (Needs Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1)
I installed Mono ver 1.2.4 instead since none of the installers for Microsoft
Framework was working in wine.
The output when I try to run the program:
$ wine UDPixel_en.exe
Stacktrace:
If this is totally mono related then please help me with some instructions on
how to make a bug report on their site (http://www.mono-project.com/Bugs). From
what I can tell they doesn't seem to be that interested in bugs like "This and
this program doesn't work" but more in "this and this source code doesn't
work".
(Anyone who knows a similar native Linux program to UDPixel?)

Summary: wineprefixcreate creates folder "My Video" instead of
"My Videos"
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.49.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: wine-tools
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: bammzilla(a)gabriana.com
I have a symlink from my real My Documents folder (in another drive, accesible
from both Windows and Linux) into my Home folder. Hence Wine maps "My
Documents" to "~/My Documents" which is great.
My annoyance is that creating a new wine bottle using either wineprefixcreate
or winecfg always creates a new empty folder called "My Video" inside my My
Documents folder, even though I already have a folder called "My Videos" (note
the "s").
It appears to be a typo somewhere in the code, as Crossover Linux 6.2 Trial
Version correctly recognizes my "My Videos" folder.
Opening winecfg, under Desktop Integration, we can see:
Shell Folder Links to
Desktop /home/username/Desktop
My Documents /home/username/My Documents
My Pictures /home/username/My Documents/My Pictures
My Music /home/username/My Documents/My Music
My Video /home/username/My Documents/My Video
On the other hand, Crossover's winecfg correctly lists the following:
Shell Folder Links to
Desktop /home/username/Desktop
My Documents /home/username/My Documents
My Pictures /home/username/My Documents/My Pictures
My Music /home/username/My Documents/My Music
My Videos /home/username/My Documents/My Videos
I know I can change the target folder from the GUI, but it would be better if
wineprefixcreate does it correctly from the start.
Although I consider this a minor bug, this is a bit of an annoyance for me
because I like installing new programs into separate wine bottles, and I
therefore use winecfg and wineprefixcreate on a regular basis.

Summary: incorrect usage of GlobalAlloc in CommandLineToArgvW
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: wine-shell32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: eteran(a)alum.rit.edu
There is a minor bug in CommandLineToArgvW in shell32_main.c on line 100
(http://source.winehq.org/source/dlls/shell32/shell32_main.c#L100).
Basically the arguments are reversed. According to the definition of
GlobalAlloc, the arguments are
GlobalAlloc(UINT flags, SIZE_T size).
however, on line 100, it is used as follows.
hargv=GlobalAlloc(size, 0)
which is passing a flags of 16 (size is initialized to 16 before this usage)
and a size of 0!
Later, the error is masked by the correct usage of GlobalReAlloc which does
properly allocate the memory desired.
Should be a very easy bug to correct.

a user reports that Xilinx Modelsim MXE III dies on

turns out to be a bug in our msvcrt's fread's crlf and control-Z handling,
and the app starts ok with native msvcrt.
There was an earlier patch that tried to solve some of this stuff,
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-devel/2006-August/050055.html
but it didn't have a conformance test, and was not correct.
Here's a patch that solves the modelsim problem, comes
with a conformance test, and is mostly correct. (It
doesn't handle CR LF's that span buffers, but that's
hard, and this app doesn't happen to require that.)

Photoshop Elements 5 aborts with a dialog "Invalid function" before
it gets too far.
The problem seems to be associated with IO completion ports;
when it can't create one, it goes through a lengthy stack unwind,
then trips over its shoelaces a bit while trying to put up
an error dialog. If IOCP not implemented is the problem,
this is a dup of bug 6155. Here are highlights of the trace
(this excerpt spans about 3100 lines in +relay):

(The first time you start Photoshop Elements 5, it
puts up a little window asking which of three views
you want it to present on startup.
I selected 'organizer', but I couldn't see how to
dismiss the dialog, so I quit. That seems to have
done it, as now when I start the app, it seems
to try to put up the organizer view, but aborts as
described above.
There are various other suspicious things in the log,
most of which are probably unrelated to this failure.
First off, every time it tries to output text (e.g. when
it tries to say "Initializing threads..."),
Wine says it doesn't support that combination
of options:
fixme:font:ExtTextOutW flags ETO_NUMERICSLOCAL | ETO_NUMERICSLATIN | ETO_PDY
unimplemented
and PSE throws an exception (and handles it).
I suspect all that text isn't getting shown at all,
which is serious if true, but probably isn't the cause
of this crash.
Next is the nifty error message
log4cplus:ERROR No appenders could be found for logger (OLSManager).
log4cplus:ERROR Please initialize the log4cplus system properly.
which is probably harmless, but makes me wonder what nice info
we could be getting if we knew how to make log4cplus happy.
Then is another nifty error
fixme:advapi:RegisterEventSourceW ((null),L"AdobePlatform"): stub
which is also probably harmless and also makes me wonder if we're
missing out on some good info.)

Beginning with wine version 0.9.49, Myst Masterpiece Edition crashes at
startup. I identified the regression at this commit:
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-cvs/2007-November/037630.html
After I undo some of the changes at ChangeDisplaySettingsExA @
dlls/user32/sysparams.c to not call GdiConvertToDevmodeW, as 0.9.48 and before,
Myst worked again. Attached are the wine debugger output and the patch I
applied using "patch -p1 -R < patchfile".

How to get this:
Run Steam, go to any half life game (such as Counter Strike for example) and
load a server -- it then gets to "caching resources" at the very end and says
there until you force it to quit or the server kicks you for "timing out".

Whenever I try to scan an image, it brings up a TWAIN GUI. However, the moment
I hit scan, it results in a crash. This occurs in both Irfanview and Picasa.
With Irfanview, goto File -> Acquire/batch scanning, and hit ok in the dialog

With Picasa, do an import and select the scanner from the list of sources.

Summary: Silent Hill 2: crash when trying to play another movie
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.46.
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2

Crashlog
When the game plays a movie/cutscene for the first time, it works fine, but
when it tries to play the next one it crashes either with a page fault or an
unprivileged instruction exception. It's not systematic.
The easiest way to reproduce it is to use the MOVIES menu. Just select a movie,
let it play it, stop it (optionally) and try to play another movie (or the same
one).

Summary: [regression] from 0.9.48, license file with Modelsim 5.8
is not recognised.
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.48.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: blocker
Priority: P2
Component: wine-misc
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: se6astien2(a)gmail.com
This is with a commercial application: Modelsim PE 5.8c
It is related to the license file (flexlm)
with wine-0.9.47 it works fine. But it is broken from 0.9.48. (I tried 0.9.49)
When starting the app (modelsim.exe), it says it can not find the license
(which is pointed by a environment variable LM_LICENSE_FILE). When the license
file is not a file but an host machine (port@host), it still works fine. Very
odd.

after upgrading to wine-0.9.44-13.1, I cannot print from TSoft

anymore. Under wine-0.9.29 it works well, despite the warning:
fixme:commdlg:PRINTDLG_SetUpPrinterListComboA Can't find '(null)' in printer

With the actual version, nothing happens, but I get this debug output:
fixme:commdlg:PRINTDLG_SetUpPrinterListComboA Can't find '(null)' in printer
list so trying to find default
err:winspool:WINSPOOL_GetDriverInfoFromReg Can't find driver L"PS Driver" in

Similar debug-messages are produced every time the printer is
changed in the combo-box.
I checked the registry, several printers are defined, and after switching
back to 0.9.29, everything works.
Other Programs I didn't test at the moment.
