After search termination (wrong window brought to front - 51202), it is
possible to bring the right window to the front and click on an item from the
search. This displays the game in the window, however, the selected item is not
highlighted, and double clicking (to open the game in a new window - must be
from the selection) opens an old selected item not from the current window.
Workaround is to right click for the menu, and then selection works again (the
window must get focus for selection which it didn't have before (only focus for
clicks)).
This may also relate to the problem of missing scrollbars not being refreshed
(will link report).

The panel that rests in it is not correctly drawn. In this case pictured the
white background does not fill the dialog, and sometimes is of different sizes.
Sometimes the message is missing. This happens every time. Using full screen on

Suggestion of an incorrect (or order of) initialisation issue, 4K/screen size
issue or a data race?

The VFP program tried to DDE to WORD97 and run a MACRO to open a

When I run it in normal WINDOWS ME and WINDOWS XP, it will switch

and automatically.
When I run it in LINUX MINT 20.2 and WINE 5.0
It does not switch to WORD97. I have to manually switch to WORD97.
The Macro seem to run OK as it displayed the DOC and allowed me to
edit the DOC.
However, after a few more CLICKs on the WORD screen, WINE abended
(the backtrace.txt is saved and attached)
Normally when I run OFC97 under WINE without the VFP DDE stuff, it
works fine with only some minor issues.
It seem to also have some DDE registration issue.

In China, there is a popular student software called DingTalk, in which the APP
reads the sNativeDigits value in the registry (/HKEY_USERS/S-X-XX-XX/Control
Panel International -> sNativeDigits) during getting the meeting time.
Through research, I found that This value is obtained by the function
get_locale_info, and the specific location is as follows:
> case LOCALE_SNATIVEDIGITS:
> if ((ret = locale_return_reg_string( &entry_scurrency, type, buffer, len )) != -1) return ret;
> return locale_return_string( locale->scurrency, type, buffer, len );
Now, in wine7.12 to 7.18, for the Chinese environment (LOCALE_SNATIVEDIGITS),
the sNativeDigits read from local.nls is "零一二三四五六七八九", but this is
unreasonable, I checked the Windows10 registry and found that its value should
be It is "0123456789"
And if it is "零一二三四五六七八九", the program will have an error
> The timer is displayed as Chinese characters, and the actual display of "一" is not "一" but "《", it's so strange
, so I think we should update local.nls or modify the get_locale_info function.
*** update local.nls:***
I would like to ask how the local.nls in wine is generated, is it directly used
in windows? I once wanted to modify local.nls directly to fix this problem, but
it seems to be a binary file, and I don't know how it is generated in wine, so
I I don't know how to modify local.nls by myself.
[HELP] If you have time, I would like to ask how the nls file is generated in
wine
*** modify the get_locale_info function:***
I have completed the modification of the function (assignment in the Chinese
environment, other environments do not operate), if you need I can provide the
source code directly.
—————————
I hope that I can ask about the modification of the nls file, and complete the
modification through my own efforts, so that I can also join the big project of
wine, which is meaningful and interesting to me.
Thanks very much, Looking forward to your reply。

Simsun Test
My application uses "宋体" (Simsun) as the font of choice, which use WindowsAPI
> SelectObject(hdc,hfont)
When I set the property(lfPitchAndFamily) of "宋体" to 0x22(FF_SWISS) and
0x36(FF_MODERN), wine converts "宋体" into Noto Sans CJK SC and Noto Sans Mono
CJK SC respectively.
I looked at the source code because "宋体" is not installed on my computer, so
when wine doesn't find any fonts, wine end up calling "find_any_face" API and
entering the first loop, using "enum_fallbacks" API to find the fonts.
When i > 3, which means the fonts in the default_fixed_list are not
suitable,Wine uses "fontconfig_enum_family_fallbacks" API to find fonts through
fontconfig.
Here wine determines which type of font the "宋体" belongs to (serif, sans-serif,
monospaced) based on the "lfPitchAndFamily" attribute of the "宋体". So ended up
returning a different font:
> FF_SWISS -> fc-match "sans" -> Noto Sans CJK SC
> FF_MODERN -> fc-match "mono" -> Noto Sans Mono CJK SC
But it's not what I expected, I want "宋体" to return Noto Sans CJK SC
forever, and on my computer when I use ' $ fc-match "宋体" ', it returns "Noto
Sans CJK SC".
I konw "宋体" became "Noto Sans Mono CJK SC" is becaues wine design. But, I would
like to ask why not directly use fontconfig to find fonts according to the font
name in the "fontconfig_enum_family_fallbacks" function, but to search
according to the font type.
ues fc-match "fontname" instead of fc-match "sans or mono or serif"
Is it because using fontconfig is a very resource-intensive thing, so wine
divides the fonts into three types, and stores the results of the three fonts
in the cache, so that the cache can be directly read the next time it is
called?
I don't know if my description is correct, feel free to contact me if you have
any questions
————————————
export LC_ALL=zh_CN.UTF-8
and run my exe file
the first line is "宋体" 0x36 -> became Mono
the second line is "宋体" 0x22 -> became Sans
Don't mind the third and fourth lines

Console output when program is run
I have a program, called ZOSICloud.exe, that I installed on my Ubuntu Focal
Fossa (20.04) laptop about six months ago to monitor my security cameras. It
ran perfectly under WINE, but I honestly don't know what version of WINE I was
running.
For some reason, my WINE installation disappeared, perhaps during an update. I
haven't a clue why. So I reinstalled it using apt. The installation went well,
but I wound up with version 5.0 of WINE. Most of my other Windows programs
would run, but a lot of useful functionality (e.g., printing) was missing.
ZOSICloud.exe would not run at all, just crash immediately.
I uninstalled WINE 5.0 and installed version 7.0 by following the instructions
on the winehq.org web site. This restored the missing functionality in my other
Windows programs, but ZOSICloud.exe still crashes when I try to launch it. I
have reinstalled ZOSICloud.exe several times, using both the default (64-bit)
wineprefix and in a 32-bit wineprefix (I don't know how to tell if
ZOSICloud.exe is 64- or 32-bit), but it won't run either way.
The application (ZOSICloud.exe) can be downloaded from
https://s3.amazonaws.com/ansjerfilemanager/ZOSICloud_3.0.1.2.exe
Note that the desktop link it creates is incorrect; it runs a program called
"test_link.exe" instead of "ZOSICloud.exe".

ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com
Surprisingly, cygwin seems to work nowadays,
as long as you do everything inside a wineconsole
running cygwin.bat. (Perhaps cygwin apps should
work outside wineconsole; that would be a separate
bug report.)
However, cygwin's gcc doesn't work unless you
replace certain cygwin symlinks with unix ones, e.g.
$ cd .wine/drive_c/cygwin/usr/i686-pc-cygwin/bin
$ for a in *; do ln -sf ../../../bin/$a; done
Likewise, /bin/vi doesn't work, as it's a symlink to vim.exe.
In fact, cygwin's ls -l doesn't even recognize cygwin's symlinks as such:
$ ls -l vi
-rw-r--r-- 1 dank mkpasswd 18 Oct 19 05:53 vi
$ cat vi
!<symlink>vim.exe
So either they're not being created right, or they're
not being recognized properly by cygwin for some reason,
or both.

Test CloseHandle(INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE)
CloseHandle(INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE) returns FALSE, GetLastError is
ERROR_INVALID_HANDLE on Wine. I tried it with MacOSX and Linux.
But on Windows CloseHandle(INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE) returns TRUE. So many programs
could fail if they didn't expect FALSE here.
Test case (Pascal). Can be compiled with FPC or Delphi.
// file TestCloseHandle.lpr
program TestCloseHandle;

uses
//Winapi.Windows;
Windows;
var
aHandle: THandle;
aResult: HRESULT;

//aHandle := 0;
aHandle := INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE;
if CloseHandle(aHandle) then
aResult := 0
else
aResult := GetLastError;
Writeln('Result: ', aResult);
end.

Crysis 2 log
Hi,
if you try to use a saved game in Crysis 2 which is patched to a higher level
than 1.0, you will have huge graphical issues. Either you get a black scree
with only the hud displayed, or completely broken graphics, or a whiet screen
etc..
This does only happen if you use a savegame or if you want to replay a mission.
If you start the campaign from the beginning, the game will look fine.
This behaviour happens with tons of wine version i have testet, so doesnt seem
to be a regression right now.
CryEngine 3 is planned to be used in other upcoming games and is somehow a
engine which really pushes d3d9 to its limits.I think it would make a lot of
sense to get this issue fixed .
Many thanks,
Christian

I use two separate MetaTrader4 programs, placed in different directories on
disk and running on the same Wine desktop.
After updating wine to 7.16 (under Manjaro Linux) the second opened MetaTrader4
stopped working (I can open it, but can not maximize any chart and after few
seconds the second MetaTrader4 closes).
Downgrading wine to a previous wine 7.15 version is a workaround solution
solving the issue.

Hello,
I tested V Rising while it was free on Steam
(https://store.steampowered.com/app/1604030/V_Rising/)
The main issue (this bug) is that everything is plain blue.
It looks like a texture related issue.
There is also a memory consumption issue. The minimum memory requirements is
12GB but the game consumes more than that. I have 16GB of memory but it's
filled quickly and multiple GB of swap space are used. This doesn't prevent the
game from working though. It just makes it slow to load.

I know that we can modify wine.inf.in according to the format of the .inf file,
so that wine will write the corresponding content into the registry when it
starts.
such as:
> HKLM,%FontSubStr%,"MS Shell Dlg 2",,"Tahoma"
But when I type Chinese in this file, the Chinese cannot be imported into the
registry very well, instead it becomes garbled characters
such as:
> HKLM,%FontSubStr%,"宋体",,"Tahoma"
After starting wine, the corresponding position will become garbled. instead of
Chinese "宋体"

Launching any application under wine (e.g. winecfg) resets DualShock 4 LED to
the default light blue light. Happens every time. The gamepad is connected over
Bluetooth and its LED is disabled upon connecting by my udev rules, so wine is
constantly breaking my configuration.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Connect DualShock 4 over Bluetooth.
2. Turn off the LED by "for f in
/sys/bus/hid/devices/0005:054C:05C4.000D/leds/*; do echo 0 > $f/brightness;
done". Here, 0005:054C:05C4.000D is the gamepad device id.
3. Run "wine winecfg".
This is on Kubuntu 22.04, Linux kernel 5.15.0-52-lowlatency.
Interestingly, even after running wine, all the "brightness" files still report
0. It looks like wine is somehow resetting the controller LED to the default
state without writing to these control files. In order to turn the LED off
again after that one has to write a non-zero value to the brightness files
first, and then zero again.

https://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=30819
Setup:
A clean wine64 prefix, with dotnet 4.6.2 installed via winetricks.
The problem:
When running dotnet applications, wine prints "fixme:shell:URL_ParseUrl failed
to parse L"<some string>"" non-stop, and the application doesn't work.
And this only happens when windows version is set to "Windows 7" and up

Excel 365 organisation e-mail activation crash, otherwise fully functional as a
5 day trial
When I try to activate any Microsoft Office 365 program, I first sign in using
my student e-mail as a Microsoft account, then it gets redirected to Google
Workspace ("Taking you to your organisation's sign-in page") and as I enter my
e-mail again it crashes. On Windows it works. Getting a key using the e-mail
simply doesn't work. The programs are fully functional as a 5 day trial.

tablet pressure sensitivity still not working on crucial graphic software that
is made to be used with tablets.
I am not sure if thats due wintab32,because im not a developer.
Applications like SAI that are wonderfully small ,full featured and even better
than photoshop for CG coloring (better brushes, other key features) work almost
perfectly fine on wine, but their practically useless when tablet pressure
doesnt work..
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=11044
another application that is a freeware and a fine substitute for painter is
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=7425&iTestingI…
tablet pressure works on photoshop and artrage, but not on many other key
applications in the graphic world that crucially depend on it. This feature is
very important, since there are absolutely no alternatives to these applications
on linux (if you study their key features you'll see there arent any on windows
too at the moment, especially Sai). The applications work almost perfectly on
wine, but that lack of this feature stops people from taking advantage of that.
Another application is Open Canvas...
But especially Sai- If there is any hack or workaround to get pressure
sensitivity working on sai, even a patch..i would gladly test it and report any
progress on Sai on wine.

The timeouts are very frequent on Windows 10 1909 as per bug 51182.
However they also happen on other Windows 10 versions like 2004 and 21H1 where
they cannot be blamed on conhost.exe being a buggy early version.

Wineconsole lacks a menubar with preferences like other consoles/terminals.
This would be useful for things like setting the font, font size, and turning
text wrap on or off. I had a look for commandline switches for these things
with "/?" but that just tries to run a program called "/?".
It's not obvious that wineconsole has any of these features if there aren't any
discoverable command line switches, but either way I figured it's worth
reporting this.

an Optimus system with prime-select set to on-demand. I'm also running
dxvk-1.7.1 because the games I've tried crash without it.
With a clean wine prefix except for the graphics set to emulate a virtual
desktop of 1920x1080, running a game with the command
"__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia wine <exe file">
fails with an error like this:
Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 156 (NV-GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 43 ()
Serial number of failed request: 334
Current serial number in output stream: 335
With a clean wine prefix (ie no virtual emulated desktop), the games run
without issue, and in wine 5.0.1 they run with and without an emulated desktop.
Both dx9 and dx11 games crash - I don't think DirectX is relevant here because
the crash is when the game first tries to create a 3d window.

~/.local/share/mime/packages/x-wine-extension-jsxinc.xml
Which (I presume) are to register files of .jsx, .jsxbin and .jsxinc as
Javascript files in the OS, however current behavior is that it is overriding
the text/plain mimetype and causes all plaintext documents (ie those ending in
TXT) to be misidentified as Javascript files.

Log of changing keymappings with a fresh wineprefix
Hello Wine dev team,
I tried launching MotoGP 2 (verified that the demo also has this issue) and
found out that
- after the game is installed and
- started via launcher.exe and
- the launcher appears and
- clicking the "Configure controllers" button and
- changing a key mapping, byselect a key listed in the right panel, then double
click a function in the left panel and
- closing the controller menu by clicking on OK and
- reopening the controller menu (like in one of the previous steps), then the
previously changed mapping is not present anymore (like no change to the key
has been made)
I expect that changed key mappings are persistent after setting it up and
confirming the controller configuration menu and after closing and starting the
game.
Important note: When having an empty wineprefix (deleted wineprefix folder) the
first change of a key map is persistent, even when closing the game. The
changes made after that change will not be persistent.
This was tested with the key "Escape" and it was set To "Accelerate" for
testing purposes.
This works on a recent Windows 10 (when using Microsoft DirectInput Mapper).
See the following comment: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52198#c14
why MS DirectInput Mapper is not used here.
I was able to log messages from wine and added them as attachment.

I filed a bug(# Bug 53739) with the font display issue before, because I was
doing some font replacements (seems to involve dwrite). This problem appears to
be the same as the previous one, but it's not the same problem.
This problem occurs in different sections of QQ, DingTalk, and corporate

some fonts are not displaye when sending a message on the meeting interface of
corporate WeChat.
Among them, the problem of QQ is the easiest to reproduce(even if you don't
have an account, you can reproduce it), so I will use QQ to explain the problem
below.

「 Problem Description 」
I just downloaded the source code of wine 7.19 and make it.
I click to add an account, the font display of QQ fails on M1, but
successed on M2.
By use WINEDEBUG=+relay,I find when text show on M2, APPs called
API:ScriptTextOut,and then text show successed. But on M1, APPs called
API:ExtTextOutW, and then text show fails.
I just started to suspect that QQ has different versions installed on
different machines, so I packaged all the files of QQ installed on the virtual
machine into a zip file, and then took this file to the physical machine to
run, but the text still cannot be show on the physical machine.
I don't know why QQ calls different APIs on the physical machine and the
virtual machine to output text, so I'm asking for your help.
What channel should I use to check my environment?nls?locale?

advapi32:lsa fails in French and German in Wine:
lsa.c:407: Test failed: expected L"Tout le monde", got L"Everyone"
and
lsa.c:405: Test failed: expected L"Jeder", got L"Everyone"
https://test.winehq.org/data/patterns.html#advapi32:lsa
The reason is that Wine does not translate the "Everyone" group name.
Note that the French failure may be masked by another Wine bug: the string
returned by GetSystemPreferredUILanguages() is in lowercase instead of being in
uppercase like on Windows. This causes the advapi32:lsa to skip the translation
check when running in French in Wine.

After playing FFXIV for a certain amount of time, or in certain locations (I
haven't noticed a common shader that seems to trigger this) the game will
experience a severe hang. When running perf top to examine what's going on,
this line stands out:
Overhead Shared Object Symbol
9.22% wined3d-csmt.dll.so [.] 0x0000000000048362
It seems to vary from around 7-15% when not experiencing the issue, to around
50%. The jump in overhead accompanies an almost total lockup of the desktop, if
the game manages to recover, it usually accompanies graphical glitches not
present before the lockup, and will usually crash not too long after recovery
if gameplay proceeds (which I would hazard a guess is due to framebuffer
corruption)
Variant: Fedora 25, fully updated as of 2/16/2017
Desktop: KDE
Processor: i7-7700k
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 (with proprietary driver 378.13)
WINE: wine-2.1-1.fc25.x86_64 (current from the fedora repos as of 2/16/2017)

app, which after it crashes because memory, manually reopening the app; it also
makes it to the grey screen, wow.

Issue similar to bug #44245, when trying out Wine 3.21 on Android 8.1, all I
get is a brief flicker of cmd, then the screen turns black.
The aforementioned bug seems to have resolved issues for Android 9, but running
on Android 8.1 is not really possible due to this.
Here's remainder of my previous comment in the other bug:
The behaviour has improved a bit, I can now see a brief flicker of cmd, but
it's covered with a black screen in just a few frames.

I have also added an attachment with the logs collected from logcat from a

I installed wine 3.17 without issues. After installing 3.18 neither version
works. Both versions show a blank screen after unpacking files. I think it's
residual files but I dont know their location.

The timeouts are not systematic but still pretty frequent:

0a24:dde: 82 tests executed (0 marked as todo, 0 failures), 0 skipped.
user32:dde:0220 done (258) in 120s
They happen on the same set of machines as the user32:sysparams timeouts (bug
51362) so they are likely to share a common cause: a rogue window that does not
process some broadcast message.
A side effect of the timeout is that subprocesses started by user32:dde
terminate late and issue a test failure while other tests are running. For
instance:
wave.c:1223: waveOutOpen(WAVE_MAPPER): WAVE_FORMAT_IMA_ADPCM not supported
dde.c:1015: Test failed: Unhandled msg: 000003e1
Misplaced failure line

are other processes with the same name but they load different binaries and has
nothing to do with this process.
000000be 35 \_ 'SigmaGenericManager.exe'
It's always this process that runs into this issue once in a while but cannot
be reproduced on demand. We recently updated Wine on the customer's platform
but not 100% sure that these did not occur before the update.
The versions of the software can be found in the attached
panther2-versioninfo.log where we can see the below:
Wine Version: wine-2.8-8453-g900a9b9c476
Crossover Version: VERSION="2.7.4 (warrior)" BUILD_ID="20220519101904"

19 10:49:11 UTC 2022 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
So we would like to know what is causing this and how to troubleshoot this
further.

Summary: Notepad++ with NppExec plugin: Unhandled exception
Product: Wine

Reporter: klasse(a)partyheld.de

Wine backtrace
NppExec is a plugin for Notepad++ which can, e.g., execute an external tool
(e.g. compiler) from within Notepad++, parse its output and, based on the file
path and line number shown in the output, open the affected file and line
number within Notepad++.
The issue is that when NppExec opens the affected file and line, it appears
correctly in Notepad++, but then immediately following Win32Exception pops up:
An exception occured. Notepad++ cannot recover and must shut down.
The exception details are as follows:
Code: 0x80000101
Type: Unlisted exception
Exception address: 0xF77DF430
Reproduction example:
1. Create a text file named "test.txt" and fill a it with a few lines of text.
2. Create a text file named "output.txt" with following content (replace
brackets with path to the above "test.txt" according to its location):
[path-to-file, either in Linux or in Windows format, doesn't matter]test.txt:2:
whatever
3. Install the NppExec plugin (just copy its DLL into the /plugins directory of
Notepad++ installation)
4. Open Notepad++
5. Under the menu Plugins -> NppExec, click on "Console Output Filers",
activate the first mask and enter following into it, before confirming with OK:
%FILE%:%LINE%:*
6. Under the menu Plugins -> NppExec, click on "Show console dialog", to open
the console at the bottom of the window
7. Enter following into the console and hit enter (replace brackets with file
path):
cmd /c type [windows-style path to file]output.txt
8. Double-click on the line which appeared in the console
Expected results:
7. Content of the "output.txt" file (it's only one line here) appears in the
console
8. The above "test.txt" file is opened (with line 2 as current line) in
Notepad++.
Actual results:
8. As in "expected results", but a "Win32Exception" also pops up requiring
closure of Notepad++
Backtrace attached.
Wine used in its pure state (no Gecko, etc.) as provided by Linux Mint 17.1.
Configured as Windows 7. (Although WinXP and Win8 were also tried, with the
same result - all with completely virgin Wine configurations (the $USER/.wine
folder deleted before each test).)

My English is not good, so I hope to be forgiven if there are any poor
wordings.
Nowadays, many windows are composed of two windows (e.g. QQ, WeChat, DingTalk),
one window M is used to draw the user's interface, and one window S is used to
modify the previous window (e.g. edge shading, etc.).
The following diagram is provided for a better understanding of this issue:
https://imgse.com/i/xJBuAs
I found that when many windows' applications run on wine, the window used to
modify (window S) is always on top (even if it is covered by other linux
applications, the window S is always on top and does not disappear). This
affects the usage of the app.
I found this problem exists in wine7.12, know 7.18 also did not solve
Problem pictures:https://imgse.com/i/xJDCb4

Possible useful information for Window S(which is used to modify the previous
window):

Because I'm not very familiar, I want to know what is the reason for this

have any good ideas now, so I come here and looking forward to your
suggestions.

In Bonzai3D there are a number of floating palettes, the principle one being
the modeling tool palette which in turn spawns related sub-palettes. For
example, hovering over the pick tool icon evokes a sub palette with various
pick options represented by icons. Selecting an option from the sub palette
closes the sub palette and should place the icon of the tool chosen in the
modeling tool palette. This occurs rarely and randomly.

I followed the process to install Wine HQ as spelled out on the FAQ, including
installing XQuartz, XCode, and MacPorts, and having MacPorts build Wine in the
Terminal. Then I downloaded Voobly and the Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds
game found on GOG:
https://www.gog.com/game/star_wars_galactic_battlegrounds_saga
I installed both using Wine. Voobly works perfectly, but SWGB runs with normal
looking cutscenes but when it gets to the main menu the video flickers and
glitches so that it is unusable. I did some research and tried to remedy this
by opening up winecfg and setting it to emulate a virtual desktop, but it
seemed to have no effect.
If there is more information that will help troubleshoot this bug, let me know
where I should go to pull it. I'm still new to Wine and not sure what the most
relevant info is.

Wine output while the game's run by cli
Hi, I'm new here!
Having issue with an old 2003 OpenGL-based (probably OGL1.x) game, Ghost
Master. While the game by itself runs mostly fine (bar WMV cutscenes), it
doesn't have any form of anti-aliasing (nor does wine seem to be able to force
it like you could on Windows), so I tried using ReShade to achieve it. Sadly,
even though the game launches correctly from ReShade's own OPENGL32.dll
implementation (made sure of that), its (imgui-powered) ui does not appear at
all during runtime. Tried the same steps on my Win10 VM, and it renders
correctly there.
Specs:
Arch Linux 5.18.16-arch1-1
Nvidia GTX 1080 (properitary Nvidia drivers 515.65.01)
What I tried:
- current stable wine version
- current dev wine version = wine-7.18-37-g2a4ec7dafc7
- both 32bit and 64bit wine prefixes
- renaming all non-Reshade Opengl32.dll files in a paranoid attempt to force it
to use the one I wanted (worked)
How to reproduce:
- Install the game (demo for convenience:
https://www.fileplanet.com/archive/p-14042/Ghost-Master-Demo-English [issue
happens there too])
- Download Reshade http://reshade.me/ (Possibly any, tested on 5.4.2; the site
seems to have problems running, so mirror:
https://www.techspot.com/downloads/7206-reshade.html )
- Run Reshade, go through the GUI installer, selecting ghost.exe -> OpenGL api
-> any addons -> to finish
- Launch game
- Notice lack of Reshade UI

Test program to reproduce the issue
I attached a small testprogram made on my win7 VM with VS2010 in C#.
The upper box is a richedit box, the bottom a multiline textbox.
All tests done in a fresh 32bit WINEPREFIX with wine-2.22.
When I talk about dotnet, I mean native .NET installed with "winetricks -q
dotnet40".
Native riched means "winetricks -q riched20"
This bug has different cases:
wine-mono: The cursor can be set right of the line where no text is, then
pressing delete deletes some char that is in the line, and the cursor jumps
there. The same for richedit and edit field.
dotnet: In the textfield, the first line looks too long.
with built-in richedit: looks ok
with native richedit: The line is rendered longer than it is, when placing the
cursor at the right of the line it's usually inside the last word somewhere,
but pressing delete deletes the rightmost characters.
Can't make screenshots, because that forces the window to repaint, solving the
issue.

Trace excerpt using unmodified wine
Summary:
When trying to print from Revolver Office 7.0.4, the font chosen is ~ 40k
pixels high.
This leads many blank (or black) pages being print.
How to Reproduce:
Download Revolver Office from
http://download.revolver.info/r7/older/revolver_office_7_0_4_win.exe
Install it using the default settings.
After installing, start it and do the following:
- Country->USA
- Single User
- Enter some details and choose "Evaluation Mode"
- Click "Address-Book"
- Select the only entry
- Select the printer icon in the toolbar
- Print to the CUPS PDF driver
Tested with:
Ubuntu 8.10/9.04 32-and 64-bit prepackaged wine
Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit wine 1.1.26 from git
Preliminary analysis:
Wine downloads the font glyphes correctly into the postscript-file.
But the font sizes written to the postscript-file are way too large, resulting
in the software positioning the text blocks incorrectly. (See
original_trace.txt)
The trace is clearer when disabled font embedding by commenting out the check
in wineps.drv. ScaleFont then reports a font size of ~40k (see
no_download_trace.txt).
Problem seems to be in the resolution of the hdc in use, as all numbers seems
fine until processed by LPtoDP.

Output of the terminal when I ran "make"
Hey y'all,
I am trying to install Wine from "wine-7.0.tar.xz".
It's my first time and I found that using the usual package install method
would not work for my system. That's why I went for this way which is
supposedly a bit more complicated. However, I figured it out and ran the
"./configure" without an issue. Then, come the "make" part, however, some
issues appeared.
The log told me to file a bug report (see "terminal output" attached).
I also attached the files mentioned in that document.
I have no clue what to make of this and cannot continue in installing Wine :(
Maybe you guys can help me?

Possible useful information for Window S(which is used to modify the previous
window):
APPS:DingTalk

have any good ideas now, so I come here and looking forward to your

Summary: World of Warcraft (6.0.3) hangs: 100% CPU usage

Prior to 6.0, World of Warcraft worked well under wine, at least the time I've
been playing.
Now, it just freezes with 100% CPU usage (only in 1 core), but don't happen
always, sometimes at the end of loading bar, sometimes just when walking, but
it happens near 100% of the time I open it.
I used also winetricks to install d3d9 stuff, and also tried opengl, nothing
prevented those freezes.
Also, I am using the 64bit client as I have my system as 64bit.
Maybe related to #29584 as it happens sometimes also on the load bar..

Summary: scsi controller IDs mapped to wrong ASPI IDs

Version: 0.9.48.
Platform: PC

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-binary
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: wbreyha(a)gmx.net
Hi!
The builtin wnaspi32.dll seems to number SCSI Port IDs 0,1,2,4,8,0x10,....
(like the native linux controller IDs), instead of 0,1,2,3,4,5..... (as
required by ASPI as far as I was told). So every device connected to a SCSI
Port ID larger then 2 is not visible to applications.
At least on my machine I see this numbering in the
HKLM/Hardware/DEVICEMAP/Scsi/
tree. "Scsi Port x" where x=0,1,2,4,8,.....
I tried to run "Easy CD-CA Extractor" and my DVD-Drive is connected to
controller id 4 (which should be 3 in ASPI aspects). Copying the whole tree
from "Scsi Target 4" to "Scsi Target 3" worked.
The developer of "Easy CD-DA Extractor" told me that ASPI requires a
0,1,2,3,4,5,... numbering.

Winecfg error output
I am running Arch Linux and had wine running perfectly prior to about 7.0-rc3
but after an update assumedly, no wine program will run on my system.
Installing wine 6.16 makes it work perfectly but anything after breaks. To
verify, I built wine from the source and still get this problem with 7.0. The
problem goes away if I specify WINEARCH=32 when running a wine program.
Winetricks completely fails to initialize getting stuck on mkdir -p
/home/user/.wine with the wine debugger failing to load also. Winecfg spits out
an error after creating the prefix but stalls indefinitely. Wineboot suffers
the exact same problem as winecfg.

Basicly with this commit "3d5fe2074e569a9d846a6018792d68d76d3eb38d" I see frame
stuttering with the game Aces High 2.
To reproduce this problem: 1. Download
http://downloads.hitechcreations.com/AH2322.EXE
2. Install and run the game using a wine version greater or equal to 1.7.33
3. You should notice the frames are stuttering immediatly inside the menu if
not click on "Offline Practice" to do further testing.
The frame rate is smooth if you reverse this commit.
Also if you are using mesa you need libtxc_dxtn to see most of the textures.

Arch PKGBUILD File for Wine 7.0 Release
Using the default Arch makepkg flags (from /etc/makepkg.conf - by default this

This also occurs if compiling with mingw is enabled, so that doesn't work
either.
The error messages are all variations of:

The game is installed as Unlisted application without issues. Game uses a

requires I login to an account that is Bind to my game account.
The crash is encountered when Game is trying to open browser. This option of
login works fine on Parallels.
I thought of trying to load a Chrome or Firefox instead of game browser but
unable to install it in the Game bottle. I've screenshots as well.

Hi,
First bug report for Wine-hope I tell you enough. First, thanks for all the
work.
I'm trying to run a demo version of an interesting program called Universal
Mechanism. It's developed by a university and is able to solve and simulate
physical systems quite accurately. It's used by companies and researchers, and
is reasonably affordable:
http://umlab.ru/index.htm
The program works, but large parts of the display vanish except when the mouse
pointer is moved over them. Could be used, but tedious. I'd guess it might be
an interesting program for some users, quite a rare type of program, and
useful. Since it runs OK, except UI I wondered if you might be able to
investigate? I don't know which part of wine might be responsible, but I'd
guess one of the accelerated graphics libraries. I'm using Debian Etch, with
your package: 0.9.44~winehq0~debian~4.0-1
I have an nvidia graphics card, and opengl works fine for other apps, via
nvidia driver, again debian package.
If you need more info please ask,
Thanks in advance,
Arthur

Screenshot: console is on top but Gomez still visible
To be a bit more accurate, GomezPEER can be seen behind other windows, when
GomezPEER updates its window. Parts of the window updates every second so it
is effectively always there.
This is not a new problem, it has existed for as long as I can remember.
Currently using Gnome/Ubuntu/GDM/fglrx but appears on all desktops I have used.
Desktop effects are disabled and windows are not transparent.
The attached screenshot should make it obvious.

Summary: Window contents not updated properly after being moved
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.55.
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: directx-ddraw
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: markk(a)clara.co.uk
Hi,
I believe this bug relates to DirectDraw. (Apologies for my lack of detailed
knowledge about Windows.)
In some cases, moving a window whose contents are updated by DirectX calls
causes trash/garbage to appear when the window is drawn in its new position,
My theory is that WINE remembers the window contents at the moment the user
begins dragging the title bar, and simply copies that to the new window
position. If the program continues to update the DirectX buffer while the user
is moving the window frame, WINE puts the old/stale buffer contents in the
moved window. This happens in both normal and virtual desktop modes.
For applications like video players, this effect may not be very noticeable if
the player redraws the whole window every frame. But for applications which
don't do that, the effect can be quite ugly.
One program I have found which shows this problem is WinUAE. To reproduce:
- Download and install WinUAE from http://www.winuae.net/
- Download an example disk image for testing, e.g.
ftp://ftp.coresystems.de/pub/uae/rsi1.adf.gz
- Start WinUAE and select the rsi1.adf.gz file for emulated drive DF0:, and
start the emulation.
- Once the demo graphics appear, repeatedly move the main WinUAE window and
notice the problem.

Created attachment 60167
--> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=60167
Example image 01 2.18 staging comparison
Mounts, eyes, external layers of armor fails to render. (Invisible) bounding
boxes are displayed as opaque black or red boxes at campfires. Unlike 2.18
staging 3.0-rc5 is missing elements rendered in 2.18 such as tree leaves and
other background elements.
I will now illustrate this with the attachments. While I edited these using
GIMP to add text and call outs, no graphic details to images were altered.
1. Image01 (2.18) shows my "pet" flying on the left side of the screen wearing
his orange clothing, the buildings in the background are fogged in blue as they
should be, and the big tree has the pinkish leaves. All of these elements are
normal and have no issue. My character is missing his boots (no feet) and has
no eyes, while all other character have all these items.
2. Image02 (3.0-rc5) shows my "pet" now flying in front of the tree on the
right. The tree is missing leaves and is now bare. The background is now black
and even more elements are missing from my character than before.
3. Image03 (3.0-rc5) shows me mounted on my wolf the same mount as my friend
posed nearby to illustrate the effect is just my character and not other
characters. The application it seems handles the individual character
differently than those of other players and non player AIs.
This game is completely unplayable under 3.0-rc5, due to the fact many areas
show as solid colors (such as black). Making it near next to impossible to
navigate dungeons. Anyone playing in 2.18-staging should remain there for game
play purposes. While debugging continues in 3.0 and beyond.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
System information:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OS version: Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2
X Window System: XQuartz 2.7.4 (xorg-server 1.13.0)
Wine version: 1.5.18 - latest development version, built with GCC 4.7.2 from
sources.
I am using development version, because it has the built-in fix for Bug 32101.
All the dependencies of Wine and GCC are the latest stable.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First of all, bug 12622 needs to be reopened (or a new version of it to be
created, since
"fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0xRandomMemoryAddress,0x00000000),
stub!" error is not fixed by inserting/mounting a CD!
If I mount/insert a CD, I get this console error anyway, and program closes in
two seconds!
If I don't mount/insert a CD, I get this console error and the program launches
with warning message "?????CD??????????"
(no CD present). But, if I ignore this warning message and don't click OK
(which would result in program termination)
I could navigate in the main program window between menu options (with keyboard
arrows only, since program window
doesn't expand and anything except "File(F)" is not visible. I click "File(F)"
and then left/right keyboard arrows)
However, if I click "Option (O)", "Rotation", "Window Size", "Sound Record
(S)", "Video Record (V)",
or even "cep(C)" (which should show a small message, like "About...") I get a
"Program Error" message.
In the attachment, you could see a .zip archive with all the different
backtraces I got for these options.

Import module work as expected (albeit slow).

permissions necessary in Android Options, but when I started Wine I got a black
screen, fine, I solved that changing GPU Renderer to SKIA, but when I try to
enter in my SD Card, I can't find it, in Z:\ directory don't have nothing, I
searched for a solution at forum, Google and YouTube, but nothing... Tried to
moving the apps that I want to install to Wine directory, on "users/(my
user)/Desktop/", but when I tried to install instead Wine directory, a message
appears, saying "ACESS DENIED"
Things that I did:
1 - Give all permissions to Wine 4.3
2 - Changed GPU to SKIA
Can u guys tell me what's wrong? I'm new in this app and just want to install
C++, Notepad++ and Steam, thank u guys for attention!

If Windows version is set to Vista or later, the text on the window tabs and
combo box areas is displayed as question marks (except for one with resolution
(for example 1920 x 1080)).
Setting Windows version to XP for example leads to the text being displayed
correctly.
Looking at some 'all' traces, things seem to be going wrong somewhere before
'WideCharToMultiByte' already:
108528.171:0020:0024:Call
KERNEL32.WideCharToMultiByte(00000003,00000000,0075f2da

2
108528.171:0020:0024:Ret KERNEL32.WideCharToMultiByte() retval=00000002
ret=0040a804
Only somewhat interesting difference I could spot near this area, is that the
'id' is different in:
108528.171:0020:0024:trace:resource:find_entry_by_id root 00733000 dir 00733AA0
id 0809 ret 007344F0
Looking into that function and what it does, it doesn't seem too plausible that
it is related, but I could be very wrong.
There are also a lot of 'RtlAnsiStringToUnicodeString' things going on a lot
earlier, but I couldn't connect any of it to this yet.
I'm pretty sure this never worked right for this application, where it started
after some changes made to it back in 2019.
To test this, one needs to install the PlayOnline Viewer and Final Fantasy XI,
and after that, the config utility can be found under any of the 'Tools'
directories in 'install_path/SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASY XI'.
