Summary: VAZ Modular 3.03 Live Input module doesn't work.
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.42.
Platform: Other
URL: http://www.software-technology.com
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-dsound
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: a.hurst(a)shef.ac.uk
The live input module uses audio from a recording device as an input to the
synthesizer.
Using the ALSA driver, as no recording device is detected using the OSS driver.
Presumably requires full duplex mode, which my SB Live supports.

I doubt it's that patch. Could you try compiling
f9b0dac9f55ed876a0438450b3140e4f551870a8
and see if it works. If so, see if:
55d70e894cd70f69d313771e8f5dedd56cce4bc0
breaks it. I don't think window management would have any effect on this, but
this patch definitely looks like it could be the cause.

I added the keyword "regression" since I found four reports from 2002 (e.g. Wine
20020904) to 2005 where exactly the same scenario worked ouz of the box.
Which tool should create the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\Scsi\]
branch of the registry?
I would have a look into the code once I know where to start.
Maybe the regression is not caused by wine but by a change in Linux, e.g. where
the SCSI device information is stored in the virtual file system?

Summary: SpaceTime requires missing proc RegOverridePredefKey

RegOverridePredefKey is not implemented in ADVAPI32, which stops SpaceTime from
installing.
This seems simple to implement, however I don't know enough about the Wine
internals to implement it myself. The MSDN page for it is:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms724901.aspx
It basically maps a registry key to a temporary key for that process (useful for
monitoring the registry actions of a 3rd party DLL).

Correct, Wine's msi does not support uninstall yet. You can remove ~/.wine
directory if you really want to free all space taken by the app. However none of
those removes links on your desktop/system[Gnome|KDE] menu.

I can duplicate this bug in 0.9.40 by following the AppDB HOWTO with unpatched

recognizing MSVCP80 and MSVCR80. I never downloaded .41, so I can't test it.

bugs in that area have been fixed. Unless I get any protests I assume the issue

Strange - I had this bug before (my mentioning it on the AppDB discussion
preceeded the bug filing) but with 0.9.42, I have the same problem Austin has
(won't start - complains that MSVCP80 and MSVCR80 are missing, despite the fact
that both those dlls are already in the */SupremeCommander/bin directory. This
is after following each step in the HOWTO (except applying patches - I compiled
from unpatched source).

In response to Comment #7:
It is possible that you do not have Wine fully configured, try running
wineprefixcreate. It's also possible you're missing one of the DirectX 9.0
extensions, I have two on my system: d3dx9_29.dll and d3dx9_31.dll. I do not
remember if Supreme Commander requires these or it was something else that I
installed. If you launch the game at the command line it should tell you which
DLL files you are missing.

This is the terminal output for install using wine 42

Libraries = riched20, riched32, msvcrt = native, builtin
It got closer to installing than 40 or 41, but still DNS9.5 does not install,

Summary: Game: NexusTK (Page fault error)
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.42.
Platform: PC-x86-64
URL: http://www.nexustk.com/download.html
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: d.dion_24(a)sympatico.ca
Since Wine version 0.9.41, this game isn't working anymore. This is the same
thing with Wine 0.9.42. You can launch the game without problems. This first
menu appear: You must click "Play Nexus" button. After, clicking on the button,
the second menu appear which says: "Entering the Nexus... it may take a couple
of minutes". Right after this menu, the game suddently "LAG". I can hear the
music cutting then Wine exits with errors (page fault error). The third menu is
the "Main Entrance Portal" to Login in in your account but this menu isn't shown
because of this problem. Disabling Sound, using alternative video options in
winecfg don't help to solve this problem
Important Notes:
- Wine was build using Debian x86_64 (64bits). Using a CHROOT 32bits Environment
doesn't help to solve this problem.
- Wine version 09.40 and below are working fine (Gold).
- You must set the Desktop resolution (1024x768) in winecfg or the game will not
work.
Thank you,

When you get hardware that IS supported by that game and you still have a
problem, then reopen (that's if you still have a problem).
Until then this bug is invalid.
Wine will not emulate something that your hardware does not provide or drivers
don't support!

Tomb Raider Anniversary starts successfully, and asks for graphic settings.
Using the default settings works OK, and the game starts to load. The copyright
information screen is displayed OK, but as the D3D engine seems to initialise
(to show the NVidia information), the game crashes. I'll attach a log shortly. I
can't determine if this is a bug within Wine or the i915 DRI driver.
Anybody any idea how to fix this bug? I am using Wine 0.9.41 on Fedora 7, with
an Intel 915GM graphics card.

Me too, Wine 9.41 on Fedora 7.
Now the default Wine font seems to be the GP5 tab font - music symbols etc.
Installation throws one error: AddFontResource Failed - which can be ignored.
Have replicated twice by deleting .wine/, running wineprefixcreate, and
re-installing wine. After install all fonts throughout wine (winecfg, notepad
etc) are the GP5 font.

Don't be absurd. The degree of brokeness I'm talking about is such that it fails
to even bring up the initial menu / start screen (unless the game window has had
focus taken away). If it doesn't even do THAT much under Windows then why does
it even exist?
The guy in comment 8 has definitely got further than I have.

With 0.9.42:
Renders whole screen ok; rectangle problem gone.
However, with any resolution above 640x480 (in either d3d or opengl mode) the
rendering is very slow ( perhaps 0.2 fps ).
At 640x480 it's a very fast framerate.
File new bug for this?

Then judging by the other replies this bug is invalid. You haven't proven that
opengl renderer works in this game at all. While other people indicated that it
does not.

The latest version in Fedora 7 is 0.9.41, and is likely to remain so at least
until 0.9.43 is released. (Judging by past updates.) Fedora does not track wine
development version by version.

Huh? Windows? No windows here... Silly.

No, this bug never occurs under Windows, only in Wine. Adobe sells fonts in the
OpenType PS format, so it's a safe bet they would have noticed such a bug by
now, anyway.
When I run it in Windows, I don't get this problem at all.

After trying the trial version, when I realised there was a link on the page
which I blindly didn't see, it works (as a trial). When I put a fully activated
version on it just crashes saying there's a stack overflow. I'm starting to
wonder if this is the real error here cause on my windows(VirtualBox) it
crashes cause it wasn't activated probably until I used an activation patch to
make it work, which is odd. I am hoping after my 30 days are over that I install
the full thing and over the trials and that it just work.

2. As you see on attached screenshot, the pink makes text blurry and hardly
