No, it isn't.
According to the change there is still the following fix in the
function RPC_UuidGetNodeAddress() necessary:
<< address[0] |= 0x80;
>> address[0] |= 0x01;

Start up mIRC and log connect to a server. The "chat" line at the bottom

Created an attachment (id=789)
--> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=789&action=view)
Roots the wine menu in ~/.menu by adding a slash and changes 2 backslashes by
four.
I am very new to wine, but I can appreciated now after having used
win4lin for about 2 years now.
I went through winetools (and made .spec for Mandrake rpm) in order to
install some Windows programs. Latest one is Noteworthy Composer which I
installed simply with
wine nwcsetup175b.exe
(I mean, not using winetools)
Installation worked fine. I just needed to start timidity as an Alsa
server. And thus I reported the installation in apps:
http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?versionId=1101 (just to say that I
applied what I read from WineHQ).
But, I had problems in the menus created by wine.
- At first, because of a non "rooted" section in ~/.menu/wine, the menu
(on Mandrake Gnome) is echoed as a dot instead of "Wine". With Crossover
(which I tested in vain for a statistical software) the section is
correctly rooted (with a slash) as "/Windows Applications".
Therefore, I changed wineshelllink in order to root the section variable
and, for example, it looks like (by adding a slash before
Wine/Programmes") for NoteWorthy:
?package(local.Wine):needs=x11 section="/Wine/Programmes"
title="NoteWorthy Composer" longtitle="" command="wine 'C:\\\\Program
Files\\\\NoteWorthy Composer\\\\NWC32.EXE' "
icon="/home/brouard/.menu/icons/NoteWorthy Composer.xpm"
- At second, the above wine menu for NoteWorthy is correct, but it is
not what is created by wineshelllink and instead of having 4 backslashes
there are only 2 (then applying update-menus will create wrong .desktop)
I look at wineshellink source and created a new variable pathmenu in
addition to the path variable (we need both) which uses sedit to change
\\ into \\\\\. pathmenu is used only in mdk_entry().
I agree that you could find a better patch...
Now considering the procedure to change wineshelllink, I first verified
on CVS that it had not changed for months, despite bugs 1523 and 1600 I
would add. Bug 1523 http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1523 also
pointed out that if you run wineshelllink as a normal user, you got an
error on writing to /usr/lib/menu.
It also proposed a patch on winebuildermenu.c
http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=719&action=view which I did not
test. Mike Hearn asked for a patch to be sent to wine-patches. Thus I
presume that the wine-patches mailing list is more efficient for you.
To resume, the enclosed proposed patch to wineshelllink will probably
close bug 1600 using a proposition of bug 1523.
Tell me if I should submit differently.
Cheers,
Nicolas Brouard

Summary: bzip2 compresses better the release archive than gzip

I compressed the official release archive with bzip2
and saw the following difference:

8,8M Wine-20050310.tar.bz2
12M Wine-20050310.tar.gz
---
Compressing the release archive with bzip2 instead of gzip saves about 22% of
the archive size. Since this archive is widely downloaded, bzip2 compression
could save a lot of bandwidth too.

I'm using the newest cvs sources (fetched after 20050310) and have an Ati card,
I'm using the ati bin drivers as the card is too new for the opensource driver.
as mentioned in Bug 2187, the client flickers when run in windowed mode. The
workaround in that bug report is giving better results but the framerate drops
to something around 1FPS and the mouse cursor does barely move. at client
startup wine creates the following debug messages:

It is still a problem. Any program with a report style listview control will
display this problem. For example, in any program with an "Open" file dialog
(including Wine's notepad), simply switch the file list to report mode (the
rightmost button in Notepad's dialog). When in the display mode, try the test
mentioned above.

and the other bug sometime in wine again (www.badcomp.co.uk download)!

Try grabbing a WINEDEBUG=+bitmap wine programname.exe >log.out 2>&1 log and
see what it shows. The best bet would be to compile from cvs and put a
DebugBreak(); just after the fixme, compile it, wait for it to hit, and it
will drop into the debugger - Then do a bt to see who called who. If its
directly from the application we are stuffed, but if its a wine dll, we can
work backwards as to where this value came from
If size isnt a problem (!) then a +relay,+bitmap trace would be ideal, and
grab the 1000 lines up to and including the fixme, but be warned it will be
massive and slow to get to the fixme.
I dont mind trying to help look into this problem if you are happy to try
various things. I dont have the software to test with so its all guessing :-)

I think the deal is to set LDFLAGS="-s -z combreloc" in make.rules (top level,
or hack it directly into eg. dlls/ddraw/tests/Makefile under LDFLAGS for test
purposes). The problem still occurs because winegcc ignores the -z parm and
assumes it doesnt take any parms.
WineGCC would need updating to support -z and an arg, which I think isnt too
bad because -z isnt a valid flag to the compiler, but you would need to check
mingw as well doesnt support a -z on the compile.

Can you please retest with latest cvs - The richedit control now just forwards
everything to the riched20 control, which has support in for what you are
describing. If it still doesnt work, update the bug or let the guy doing the
work on it know (see wine-patches/wine-devel) as he has been quite active on
riched20.
I download and ran the demo and the EULA appears fine here - Resolving as

Summary: Wine crashes on Lotus Notes Bookmarks
Product: Wine
Version: 20050211
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-binary
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: mcslemon(a)hotmail.com
I have managed to get wine working so that Lotus Notes is usable. However, when
I go to load a bookmark and/or adjust a window size within Lotus Notes, it
crashes. Nothing appears in the console when this happens. The only problems I
have are when Wine loads and I get:
err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateWindow invalid window height -29647
err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateWindow invalid window height -29647
err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateWindow invalid window height -29647
err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateWindow invalid window height -29647
err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateWindow invalid window height -29647
err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateWindow invalid window height -29647
Notes seems ok functionally apart from this.

There was one such call that returns successfully. I didn't see any difference
between this and the other calls in the logfile.
Your patch works if we do it in the W-function also. So that it is already an
improvement.
But it would be better if we can find out the reason for calls with only one
filled parameter and the last flag=100. Do you think it could be only a call to
increment the hit counter in the INTERNET_CACHE_ENTRY_INFO structure?

At least for the log you show, every return value of
GetUrlCacheEntryInfoExW(...,0,0,...,0x100) is NULL, meaning failure. Is there
any call that succeeds (retval != 00000000)? Otherwise simply rejecting the call
when the third arument is a null pointer might help
Perhaps try something like

Bingo!!
I had and old winelib rpm still living in my system.
After uninstalling it, rebuilding wine and instaling it again not only I am able
to have debug output, but the installer works fine.
I'm very sorry to waste your time as it was my only fault.
I close this bug and hit my head with my table 10 times.

I tried to run Winamp using wine. I copied all files to some directory.
Then it displayed to enter WinMM section in config file , I added that as follows :
[WinMM]
"Drivers" = "wineoss.drv"
"WaveMapper" = "msacm.drv"

After this when run wine I got the following errors :

I believe I didn't explain it correctly.
I could have some files that were written by some old rpm installation lying
around. Or maybe not, but I did have wine installed from Mandrake rmps before, so...
That's what I'm going to do (probably in a few hours):
a) rpm -qa | grep wine
b) Unistall all wine-related rpms that appear on step a)
c) Compile and install wine from sources again, after cheking if there is any
debugging related flag that can be applied to the build process
d) Run wine again with WINEDEBUG='+ole,+tid'
e) Post here the results.
Javier.

Native shlwapi.dll calls GetUrlCacheEntryInfoExW in wininet.dll with parameters:
(L"Visited: sven@mk:@MSITStore:C:\\Programme\\StarMoney%205.0%20S-
Edition\\help\\49\\sm%2050%20hilfe.chm::/sm%2050%
20hilfe.chm::/htm/acc.acclist.hid.htm", (nil), (nil), (nil), (nil), (nil), 100)
GetUrlCacheEntryInfoExW then calls GetUrlCacheEntryInfoW with
lpdwCacheEntryInfoBufferSize set to nil, and therein a call to
URLCache_CopyEntry with lpdwBufferSize = nil. The line
if (*lpdwBufferSize >= dwRequiredSize)
causes an Unhandled exception.
Should'nt be hard to fix, but I don't know the right way.
I can provide a (big) test app if wanted.

For now it's impossible (and have no interest)

- it needs a big rewrite of directx, opengl and x11drv code
- needs to follow all windows HAL evolutions (its change for each directx
release)

I know this is an old bug - does the problem still occur?
The message log implies that a lookup was done in the registry and the key
couldnt be found. My suspicion is the run was done by copying dlls from a
windows machine rather than installing under wine - is this correct?
I think you would either need to install under wine and retest, or copy the
appropriate keys across.
Please let me know if you can retest this otherwise it probably needs closing
as invalid (I cant see any more useful closing code!)

The code was committed into CVS today, and so either wait for the next
official wine release, or set up cvs and extract the latest code, then build
and compile it. It sounds like you already have sources, so the other option
is to manually make the same changes yourself in the files you have, then try
it. I'm afraid I am unaware of how to do things via the gentoo packages, Sorry.

This fails because it calls an unimplemented function. Adding a stub for it
gets the editor to work and load the demo adventure, so I guess its ok for now
Patch:
http://www.winehq.org/hypermail/wine-patches/2005/03/0119.html
Will resolve/fixed when in cvs

Not quite... A simple pgm:
printf("%s\n", "test");
printf("%s (%S) %c (%C)\n", "test", L"test2", 'X', L'Y');
still fails, because msvcrt printf calls vsnprintf not the internal
MSVCRT_vsnprintf. Patch sent to wine-patches to resolve this:
http://www.winehq.org/hypermail/wine-patches/2005/03/0116.html
Will resolve/fixed this bug once patch comitted

Can you please clarify the exact message - I've just run the installer and
although it does stop the progress message box at 26% it then goes onto a 2nd
progress box which completes without a problem.
Does running wineprefixcreate help at all?

I think the noise on the screens is a different bug, and IIRC doesn't the native
version have the same problem with some drivers? I'll resolve this bug as fixed,
for now.

I think if you set things up from a "clean" state, ie delete your ~/.wine
directory so it's recreated this problem will go away.

Fallout2 works perfectly (with CVS-wine) now, so I assume that (since it's the
same engine) Fallout1 also works. Could someone with Fallout1 re-test it with a
very recent WINE (the CVS version perhaps) and mark the bug as fixed?
