The trail led to the file dlls/x11drv/winpos.c. It is making a call to MapWindowPoints() which in turn calls WINPOS_GetWinOffset(). If I eliminate the call to MapWindowPoints() in the function expose_window() at line 290, (and restore the original version of windows/winpos.c) everything works beautifully. The window draws itself properly and the buttons work as expected. I am not all that familiar with Wine code, though, so can anyone think of a good reason why this code ought to be there? Should I submit a patch? And if so, can anyone point me to the method required for doing so? Thanks. I found out that none of the backgrounds for any of the controls are really being drawn. Each of the individual controls has a cutout in the screen. As the controls are drawn the cutouts are "filled in" by the controls, but in the case of the files group the individual controls are not big enough to fill in the whole area. I still get a single piece of the old view, though it is a much smaller piece than before. It always happens if I first move forward and then turn sideways. And of course the other noticable thing is that the window does not slide (scroll) but instead just jumps from one view to the other. I notice that if I obscure part of the window with another window and then uncover it, that it is repainted with the corruption still there. By the way, I can always get the window to repaint correctly by sliding my mouse down into the area at the bottom where the books are kept. This might require the window focus to be set to focus follows mouse. I don't really have much of a feel for where the problem is. It appears to me that the bitblt commands have the correct parameters, so like you I think this is some sort of timing problem. I have the Xlib reference book that explains the XCopyArea command, but it does not mention any gotchas if the two Drawables are the same. At the point I don't think I now enough to know how to attack it. I've runned myself some starcraft 1.00. But there is a problem. When the window get's created I have no graphics. The game itself "thinks" everything is ok though. Now if I have Desktop commented out and "Managed" = "Y" it's kind of easy to get the graphics working. Simply switching focus to another window, and then clicking back on starcrafts window get's the graphics back. IMHO this has something to do with some messages (wm_paint?) not being sent to the starcraft window upon creation. Note1: twm has the same behaviour :) Note2: same thing with a snapshot from 200204 and current cvs winex. So this has to be old. Note3: guess what happens when I turn "DXGrab" = "Y". Wine bug ID 725 : Date error with Oegasus mail.

Dear colleague: I just got a fairly new ( wine-20020710-0.i386.rpm) from Suse ftp site. Unless I am mistaking a new bug appeared (my previous version of wine was date 4/2002): when running Pegasus Mail, the date of the messages is false: it seems to be 10 days off. My other Linux programs work fine, and Pegasus (same code, same mailbox) shows the righ dates when run under Windows. If this is bug 725, it is fixed... so I guess I will have to get an even newer version. Else you may want to take note of it? Thanks. I have set this bug's platform to FreeBSD but this is just as valid for Solaris x86. It turns out that winedbg uses BITBLT_InternalStretchBlt extensivly so I cannot use winedbg to track down. Could somebody post a sample ~/.wine/config that is known working with Terragen 0.8.44? So far, debug does not look like it is throwing the final error message, any ideas? Is Xwindows v3.3.6 okay? Terragen 0.8.44 and DCOM95 are now installed. Terragen loads in both of the following cases:1) Using builtin comctl32, the left-column child window select buttons are not all visible, just part of the first one. In the Landscape "child" window, the terrain-sculpting buttons do appear, with good icons but "funny" text (that text was supposed to be Small, Med, Large, I think).2) Using native comctl32, the left-column child window select buttons are all properly visible. But, in the Landscape window, the terrain-sculpting buttons do not appear at all. In both cases, there is another problem - I think it is a general case. From the Landscape child window, click Surface Map, then in Surface Map, click Edit Color, then wine Terragen just locks-up. Landscape -> Surface Map -> Tex, same lock-up. Cloudscape -> Edit Cloud Color, same lock-up. Water -> Edit Diffuse/Transparent Color, same lock-up. Killing the wine Terragen process seems to be the only recovery (back to the console). All the rest seems working fine, including nice rendering. So if anybody has the .srf file format spec in full detail, that alone might be enough. I was using WinZip 8.1 under wine to do this. When the folder reached 1644 files, I began getting errors in both WinZip and wine. Using the native controls, the left end of the text displays follow by "...". How to cause: 1. Using notepad or other simple program, get the fileopen dialog. 2. Hit the "Details" icon (rightmost icon). Or right click in the box area and select the "Details" view. 3. Adjust the header field length till not all the text can fit. The native control uses lots of GetTextExtentPoint to find the amount of text to fit with the ellipse. We could use DrawText like the Header control. Terragen now loads ok, but two issues remain:1) I have no terrain sculpting "brush buttons" in the Landscape window, unless I do NOT use native comctrl32.dll - but - with builtin comctrl32, the window selection buttons are missing (left column, Landscape, Water, Atmosphere, etc.), yet the "brush buttons" in the Landscape appear okay (with messy text on them). Obviously all of the buttons are required. 2) Landscape -> Surface Map -> Edit Color function just crashes wineTerragen. So I am wondering if I need to use a specific set of native vs builtin DLLs. The server side is ran on Lotus Domino servers. The client has also the functionality to connect to AOL. Using a non win32 wine setup, it will not allow me to connect to the sametime server. Normally when you start the software up, you will be greeted with the login prompt. Under wine this does not occur unless you use the windows/system dir. Then a login prompt will appear, gaving said that when you try and connect it refuses, no error messages. Basically the icon in the top left of the page should be a shuttlecock but stays as the default window manager icon. Other programs icons work fine, such as winemine. Running native oleaut32 resolves the problem. Initially I think OleLoadPictureEx has something to do with it, but making that propergate the call into OleLoadPicture (as a test) seems to get things a lot further on BUT still never sets the icon. If yes, this could be a problem with paths processing. Could you narrow the problem down to a small test case which opens the file and shows success/failure of the operation? Does it work if you hardcode the path in the test case? One more possibility - regedit incorrectly parses the command line. Try to insert debugging statements in regedit before it tries to open the file to see what it got.
