I believe this bug should be under wine-gdi, but I cannot change it. Also, this bug still
exists in version 20030709

Summary: Eudora 5.2.1 - Unsuccessful Email Retreival
Product: Wine
Version: 20030618
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: wine-binary
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.com
ReportedBy: sabLinux(a)saberman.com
Eudora 5.2.1 connects to the pop server and downloads the email but fails to
insert it into the inbox. No error message is visible. The Eudora log file
contains "Unsuccessfully retrieved " then the sender's name and the email
subject. The email itself is in the Eudora spool directory with a .RCV extension.
The problem appears to be associated with emails the are multi part mime. I
have one that causes the problem every time. It has a few jpgs in it.
This is under Lindows 4.0 (2.4.20 kernel).

I've had this problem when trying to run Wine programs from within the Linux
Mozilla.
I run mozilla withing artsdsp to enable some plugins to function correctly.
The exvironment changes made by artsdsp are propagated to Wine, and hence wine
crashes.
I suspect that the work-around may be as simple as ensuring that the LD_PRELOAD
environment variable does not contain any artsdsp dlls.
I will try this & report back.

Please try the new release of wine (wine-20030709). Backup your setup files

Please rename your current setup ( mv .wine .wine-OLD ) and try again. The
binary will do a fresh install of config files (creating a new .wine
directory). If everything goes ok with your non-working apps , it's another
issue of DLLOverrides/whatever setting of your old config files.
You may then merge back some settings to the new config set of files and go
ahead.

I stopped experiencing this (and other problems) in some post 5-1-RELEASE

It is me again,
a quick and very dirty workaround, which may indicate a size problem in X.
Playing around with the height of the bitmap (heightSrc and
info->bmiHeader.biHeight in gdi.StretchDIBits) shows that
below 65536, i.e unsigned short int wine no longer crashes but the color bar is
black,
below 32768, i.e signed short int the bar gets colored

Calmira II ver3.3 under Wine-20030709, showing taskbar & the four empty windows
Note: Desktop background is of KDE 2.2.1 , NOT from Calmira.
Calmira has its own Desktop space, but it is not being showed by wine. The four
empty windows that appear on screen were short-cuts on Calmira's desktop. I
think this weird behaviour is a bug of wine.

image of how TC32 looks under wine20030709
Under wine-20030709 it now displays numeric characters in window, but
non-numeric characters (as letters) continue to be substitued by inverted "?"
characters. Also there is still a phamtom window named "TCMD Console 8" that
appears to be empty.
I'm using the standard config file that comes with this release of wine, no
additions to DLLOverides. It was a fresh install from scratch.
Console messages were as follows:

1. I checked the font parameters, and Win32 says average char width is 5 yet
wine/rh9 report average char width 7. AS far as I can tell the DrawText
function calculates positions just fine except...
2. Zero length strings result in r.right = r.left under win32 but wine doesn't
touch the passed rect. That screwed up a few calculation calls I had.

*not ports*, and XFree86 4.3.0,1 metaport, so it's definitely something with
