When you make a different move from the one in the game score, a dialog should
pop up with options such as overwrite, etc called Input New Move. This is
sometimes not happening (effectively locking up the application) any longer
which makes Chessbase 11 junk in this version. It's fairly random though. Using
plasma to show all screens you see it titled as a Input window (should be Input
new move) and trying to close it there doesn't work. Sometimes it just doesn't
fail. Tried and failed on two and one screens.

A Spammer is likely using Wine bugzilla since I had no spam before recently
interacting with wine bugzilla and now a ton every day from a few domains. No
other major interactions with my email around the start date except with a
pension company (far less likely to be the source). Spammers just need to
create an account here and scrape bug reports.
For most things there is no reason to show email addresses to the public as
that is not necessary for most use cases. In the rare case where it is
necessary to contact someone related to a bug or out of interest, it should go
via a request to wine maintainers, not allow anyone to contact anyone
unsolicited. This also probably breaches privacy laws (GDPR etc).

Summary: Installer windows for several Disney Interactive
products do not render correctly
Product: Wine
Version: 1.2-rc5
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: trivial
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: markk(a)clara.co.uk
This bug report applies to at least three Disney Interactive products from the
years 1999 and 2000: Dinosaur Activity Centre, Magic Artist Studio and Toy
Story 2 Action Game.
On starting Setup.exe from the game CD, the initial window is not rendered
properly. It mainly consists of a grey background; the only part which is
rendered properly is the "sparkling" Disney logo. If you move the pointer over
where the buttons should be, they are drawn when the pointer passes over them.
(See the Windows screenshot to find where the hotspots are.)
With Wine *not* in virtual desktop mode, if you drag the window or activate
another window, it refreshes/renders correctly. (In virtual desktop mode the
window has no decorations, so cannot be dragged.)
After the window has refreshed, if you partly cover it with another window,
then click in the Setup window to bring it to the front, the just-revealed
parts are blank. That also happens in virtual desktop mode.
I have created an archive containing only those files sufficient to allow
Setup.exe to run. You can download it from
http://rapidshare.com/files/404357546/Disney.tar.bz2.html

This bug is present in Wine since forever, it never had SFX on this game. This
comment from 2010 verifies what I'm reporting.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22598#c53
A workaround is to do winetricks directmusic dsdmo, but then the game gets
sound glitches, whistles out of nowhere ingame and some very noticeable latency
on SFX.
I provide a bt all and console output of clean wine with the latest 9-01 rc. I
also add bt all and console output with the winetricks workaround if it's
useful.

I was uploading a file to a Hotline server from the Hotline client (1990s BBS
software used mostly on Macs) using recent versions of Wine, all the way up to
9.17 and noticed that uploads greater than about 200KB will not complete
successfully.
I found that this is working properly in wine 7.4 and earlier and I think I've
narrowed the cause down to the commit
https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/commit/1c6c90c7e1f1cd011e0ddb1dba4771…
. Though I'm not knowledgeable enough about wine's implementation to fix the
problem, I tested with the latest code in 64-bit mode, and if I just set
reply->nonblocking = FALSE at
https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/blob/6dfb84f5cbdf30c1dc0775fd4dae821e…
the upload will succeed but obviously the client application UI will be
unresponsive while that happens.

Btw, is that still minor? No movement makes the game unplayable but it's not

wineboot backtrace
Since ecbc4cf06d6c9253ba92065f320ddd6eeff3177f ("wineboot: Retrieve CPU details
through the SMBIOS table."), wineboot assumes that an SMBIOS 3.0+ processor
information table is present, and uses those values to populate CPU info in the
registry.
On most platforms, raw SMBIOS tables are not available to unprivileged
applications, so ntdll "creates" SMBIOS tables with information from other
APIs. ntdll creates a v3.0+ processor table, and wineboot is happy.
However, on Intel macOS, raw SMBIOS tables are available to unprivileged
applications, and ntdll passes them straight through to wineboot. My 2013 Mac
Pro (running macOS 10.13 and the latest 2023 EFI firmware) only supports SMBIOS
v2.4, and the processor information table is missing all the 2.5+ fields like
core/thread count. These fields are filled with garbage, and wineboot crashes
when proc->thread_count2 is implausibly large.
One fix for this would be for wineboot to not use SMBIOS for CPU details (or at
least have a non-SMBIOS fallback).
Alternately, ntdll could disable passthrough of real SMBIOS tables and just
create it on all platforms (this is already done on ARM64 macOS).

Since WineHQ 9.3, font "wingdings" seems to be rendered as "arial" at
.NET-Datagridview. Symbol "checkmark" is shown as "ü".
Stable WineHQ 9.0 works fine, 9.4 doesn't fix this issue.
It seems to be a GDI-related issue - print-preview-rendering is affected, too.
regards, Andy

Hello folks,
while checking bug 5163 ("Microsoft Office XP 2002 installer reports error
25003 (installation source corrupted), custom action 'CADpc' returns 1603")
I've noticed a bunch of message boxes during installation which didn't appear
with earlier Wine releases.
They can be dismissed so the installer proceeds further. Alternatively the
installer can be run in "no UI" mode (pass '/q' or '/qn').
Wine 2.11 (ok):
