I guess the problem must live on PARSER_string_substW() in dlls/setupapi/parser.c, which is called by GenFormStrWithoutPlaceHolders16. Maybe thats the difference? I have a problem with the mouse at the startup screen (I cannot see it). By guess and a liitle luck I was able to get a game started. I get a 3rd person view of Dink and have no problem moving around with the keyboard. The floor/ground tiles are white just like reported. I have not had much of a chance to play(debug) it. Once installed, however, you should create a new project by going file-new. type in a project name, and select "Analog or Mixed A/D". The location needs to be specified, but can be anywhere you want the program to create it's data files for this project. After hitting ok, select "Create a blank Project". At this point, it should take you to a work space with a big white screen. But on the newer versions of wine, it will bring up the error message before reaching this screen.
