Doom I and Doom II Enhanced (2019) crash after playing the intro videos, before
the main menu could be displayed.
The crash occurs due to
commit 9d05345d4419aa29e6d4b15456bfeab510d39823
msvcrt: Define C++ type info using RVAs for PE builds.
I'm on Arch and using gcc-15 and mingw-15.1.0 to compile Wine.
The crash happens both in the new and old WOW64 modes, regardless if I compile
Wine with "-O2" or "-O0".
On Steam the game is available in the Doom + Doom II bundle, *but you have to
select "previous-re-rerelease" beta branch to obtain this specific version that
crashes.*
Still present in wine-10.9-214-g19441ac8046.

Magic the Gathering Arena is showing a (mostly) black screen with no graphics,
starting in wine 10.9. The cursor is still shown, and hovering over where UI
elements should be plays the expected audio.
The regressing commit is:

d3d11: Add ID3D11Device3 stub.
Before the main UI loads, there are two loading screens. One of them is also
displaying as completely black instead of the expected image and text, but the
other one does display correctly (it shows the words "Waiting for the server"
and a spinner).
System info:
Wine 10.8/10.9/git

Dear Support,

Fedora 41
wine-stable-10.0.0-1.1.x86_64
winehq-stable-10.0.0-1.1.x86_64
Wine stable 10 is not saving Word Pro's "View setting". You have to set up
your view settings in a Windows virtual machine and export the view setting
from regedit. Then import them into Wine's regedit: for example:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Lotus\WordPro\99.0\lwpuser.ini\WordProUser]
"ViewMode"="256"
"ViewPreference2"="514"
"ViewPreference"="527945365"
The above is margin width and show tabs. These entries were all missing in
Wine until I regedit imported them.
Please fix.
Many thanks,
-T

Log file
When the PocketBible application is started, the splash screen appears, but
nothing else. Errors are reported on the command line. The attached log file is
generated from a clean Wine install.
After discussion in this thread, I tried using winetricks cc580 to install a
native comctl32.dll:
http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?p=17535#17535
The DLL installed was v5.80 and the application then produced an error
indicating that v5.81 minimum is required. I substituted a native DLL of this
version and the application now runs successfully.
I noticed that replacing the Wine DLL with the native v5.81 directly is not
sufficient and it is necessary first to use winetricks as above and then to
substitute the later version DLL.

Summary: Braid: Both Shift keys needed to move puzzle pieces
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.25
Platform: PC
URL: http://www.playgreenhouse.com/game/NNONE-000001-01/
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: elton(a)schiert.net
Steps to reproduce:
-Download Braid Demo from http://www.playgreenhouse.com/game/NNONE-000001-01/
-Install and run it
-Enter the first level and play until you have collected at least one puzzle
piece
(this takes just one minute)
-You can now exit the level and go back to the house
-Stand in front of the puzzle area and use it
-On this screen you are supposed to be able to move the pieces around by
placing
the cursor over them, holding any Shift key and using the cursor keys or WASD
-This works on Windows; but with Wine I need to press both (left and right)
Shift
keys to be able to move a piece
Notes:
-Only the puzzle screen is affected. Rest of the game works with any Shift key.
-Once both Shift keys have been pressed in order to "grab" a piece one can let
go
one key and is still able to move the piece around until one lets go of the
2nd
Shift key. Only then the piece is "released"

Summary: Regression caused by switch to realloc which doesn't

Created attachment 78644

Log showing run with and without reverting 6db69d0 under wine 10.7
In wine 8 `LibOVR.dll` (the shim) would load `LibOVRRT32_1.dll` (the Oculus
API). In wine 9 and later this is no longer the case. Reverting 6db69d0
(wintrust: Use CRT allocation function) makes it work again.
Looking over this commit I expect the issue is the switch from
```
static void* WINTRUST_ReAlloc(void *ptr, DWORD cb) __WINE_ALLOC_SIZE(2);
static void* WINTRUST_ReAlloc(void *ptr, DWORD cb)
{
return HeapReAlloc(GetProcessHeap(), HEAP_ZERO_MEMORY, ptr, cb);
}
```
which zeros added memory to realloc which does not. Presumably this is
resulting in some field being populated with garbage, and that makes
`LibOVR.dll` unhappy when it verifies the signatures on `LibOVRRT32_1.dll`.
I put more details and a test program in the following github repo
https://github.com/twhitehead/issue-wine-ovrf
