Is this still an issue for you with a recent Wine (1.3.31 or newer)?

Cars as well as other objects are visible and rendered correctly here, tested
with wine-1.3.31-172-g7df0245 on Fedora 15. I'm using a Nvidia 250 gfx card
with the proprietary driver 285.05.09.

Link to the demo for NFS:HP2 has been modified as the original one was no
longer available.
