--- Comment #1 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello Marcus,
I can' reproduce this, the launcher works fine here.
You didn't state your original Wine version used for installing/running the game ('wine --version' in terminal). You are most likely running an outdated Wine version.
Make sure you use recent Wine 1.7.x series, preferably Wine 1.7.20/21
I downloaded the launcher here:
http://client.cdn.gamigo.com/fo/en/FiestaOnline_EN.exe (1.6 GiB)
It seems a part of the launcher uses the MS .NET Framework. Since Wine ships a native .NET Framework replacement, 'Mono' might work too (I didn't test that).
I installed .NET Framework 2.0 in the WINEPREFIX (using 'winetricks -q dotnet20). It helped, the launcher now asked for Adobe flash 13 plugin/player/ActiveX control and I let it download/install the prerequisite on its own.
Upon restart, the launcher presented me a black window. You have to wait a bit until the embedded flash bloat/garbage initializes (churns one CPU core all the time). After the client updated itself to the latest version it presented me with a 'Launch Game' button.
The game client 'Fiesta.bin' starts successfully for me (login required).
