As I've understand this bug is closed, partially, because of winetricks changes to stop wineserver in between of steps winetricks performs during sequencing dotNet 2.0, dotNet 2.0 sp1, dotNet 2.0 sp2 and the switching between windows versions, but if one, like me, uses different version of wine, not the one set in system but, in my case, set in /opt/wine (there is wine set in system but it's of different version), winetricks fails to perform wineserver -k because it simply calls for system wineserver and disregards preset $WINE variable for that and since system wine version isn't equal to one set in $WINE variable, system wineserver can't stop ${WINE}server since "wineserver -k" is not equal "${WINE}server -k".
As long as it's running on the same WINEPREFIX, a different version of wine's wineserver should still be able to kill it (works here with git and 1.3.9).
