--- Comment #23 from Jim McDonald Jim@mcdee.net 2008-04-26 15:37:31 --- I have been seeing this issue and looking at the network traffic there were a lot of UDP packets with bad checksums. I'm not sure if this was having an effect or not but for those who are seeing lots of lag can you try:
ethtool -K eth0 tx off
as root, and replacing eth0 with your outgoing interface if required. Doing this has taken my packet loss down from intermittently unplayable to 0.
