Did anyone bother to test if this works nowadays on Windows? I wouldn't be surprised if that doesn't work either. Then you are beating a dead horse here.

You should never rely on a Google-based platform for your application or service. Yes, that's true for other vendors as well but with Google it's a very persistent habit.
