After the today update ("Package: wine-staging Version: 3.16.0~bionic"), the
game almost runs: instead of a black screen with cursor, it shows the loading
screen but crashes right after that, when the game supposedly starts

I think that now I'm facing a issue with the game itself, not wine: I'll try to
reinstall the game and post the results
