I wasn't able to get this working on any older Wine versions though, I tested 0.9.{10,14,15,16,17,18,20} and today's git both with and without virtual desktop. I also tried patching IWD to 1.06, which didn't seem to help.
IWD2 works fine (starts up at least) with most versions of Wine for me though, including today's git.
