Why not close bug 46735 instead of this one? IMO it is better to close newer bugs with fewer comments before older one.
I guess the number of comments in the bug record is not a good metric for bug documentation quality. IMO it worth keeping the bug which has the most clear description, relevant discussion and attachments. Bug #46735 is obviously more relevant in this sense and is referenced by Staging patchset.
Not exactly related, but 46735 was split off from Bug #8051 which is older.
