Can we maybe get the "hack" patch without performance issues just fixing this bug applied upstream by creating a "git pull request"? I am unfamiliar with wine development but it seems this was just not fixed/applied because Henri Verbeet did not upload it to the git repository. Is there anyone with an account on github who could upload it on his behalf?
Do you use Wineskin for Mac? You create Application Bundles and I built patched versions years ago. I still use this version to play games affected by this bug.

Those engines work perfectly, thank you. But would it be possible to use your patches and apply them to the latest wine version?
Because a game like Empire Earth suffers from mouse issues, which have been fixed in later versions of wine, but not on 1.7.* versions. But these later wine versions suffer from the flickering.
