--- Comment #8 from OCC afolger@aishdas.org 2010-12-24 04:45:03 CST --- Well, I just tried running the installer once again, and it still fails.
[user@localhost djc-setup-all]$ wine installa.exe wine: Unhandled stack overflow at address 0x7bc267d3 (thread 001c), starting debugger... Could not parse file "/home/afolger/.local/share/applications/wine-Programs-DavkaWriter Platinum-DavkaWriter 6.2.desktop": Invalid key name: Path[$e] Error in file "/home/afolger/.local/share/applications/firefox.desktop": "" is an invalid MIME type ("" does not contain a subtype) fixme:dbghelp:addr_to_linear Failed to linearize address 0055:e658 (mode 0) err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x686554a0 "syslevel.c: Win16Mutex" wait timed out in thread 0019, blocked by 001c, retrying (60 sec)
Using another one of the installer options:
[user@localhost djc-setup-all]$ wine install.exe Could not parse file "/home/afolger/.local/share/applications/wine-Programs-DavkaWriter Platinum-DavkaWriter 6.2.desktop": Invalid key name: Path[$e] Error in file "/home/afolger/.local/share/applications/firefox.desktop": "" is an invalid MIME type ("" does not contain a subtype) err:setupapi:create_dest_file failed to create L"C:\windows\system32\stdole2.tlb" (error=80) fixme:system:SetProcessDPIAware stub! fixme:iphlpapi:NotifyAddrChange (Handle 0xc2e914, overlapped 0xc2e918): stub wine: configuration in '/home/afolger/.wine' has been updated. wine: Unhandled stack overflow at address 0x7bc267d3 (thread 002e), starting debugger... fixme:dbghelp:addr_to_linear Failed to linearize address 0067:e658 (mode 0) err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x792954a0 "syslevel.c: Win16Mutex" wait timed out in thread 002d, blocked by 002e, retrying (60 sec) err:syslevel:_LeaveSysLevel (0x792954a0, level 1): Invalid state: count 0 mutex (nil).
SO YES, this issue is still unsolved. That is sad, because while this is already an ageing piece of software, it offers certain things no found in the competition, and wine is, after all, much better poised tan Windows, to maintain compatibility with older versions. Long live OSS!
