Can one of the guys that experienced this on MW2 chime in? That would be helpful, though this patch does seem to fix this issue completely. Valve updated their anti-cheat code, which triggered more aggressive/frequent scans; apparently there was some incongruency in WINE's implementation of the Windows syscalls. From the patch, it looks like Windows would perform a memory size check and if it was the expected size, not pursue the scan.
I would consider this issue resolved. Many thanks to everyone who helped out with it.
