Bug #: 33416 Summary: winecfg fails; wineboot fails; open_mountmgr failed to open mount manager Product: Wine Version: 1.5.28 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: mountmgr.sys AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: Wintershade@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
Arch Linux x86_64; clean (i.e. new) 64-bit wineprefix, wine 1.5.28. When I try to run winecfg, the terminal spits out the following:
$ winecfg wine: created the configuration directory '/home/wintershade/.wine' err:process:start_wineboot failed to start wineboot, err 1359 err:winediag:xrandr12_init_modes Broken NVIDIA RandR detected, falling back to RandR 1.0. Please consider using the Nouveau driver instead. err:winecfg:WinMain failed to restart 64-bit L"C:\windows\system32\winecfg.exe", err 1359 err:winecfg:open_mountmgr failed to open mount manager err 2
The last line appears when I try opening the "Drives" tab in winecfg. The "Drives" tab has nothing but a message: "Failed to connect to the mount manager, the drive configuration cannot be edited."
Works without problems on wine 1.5.27. Works without problems on a 32-bit wineprefix, new or used. Works without problems on a previously made 64-bit wineprefix, which was used in the meantime. I have a previously made 64-bit wineprefix in which I have installed a few games with "platinum" rating. That one works flawlessly. However, when I try making a new wineprefix with wine 1.5.27, and then accessing it via winecfg, winecfg crashes.
so... steps to reproduce: 1. install wine 1.5.28 2. start winecfg within a fresh 64-bit prefix 3. check the terminal output and the "Drives" tab in the winecfg window. tested with wine 1.5.28 (Arch Linux package) and the last night's git version (AUR package)
I'm terribly sorry I can't give much more information, but I really don't have the time to do the bisection atm.
